The evangelicals are kind of like the far left. The democrats spend their time promising to give these people the moon and the stars while and they end up with just a small portion of what they promised. Just stringing them along election after election. Just keep voting for us guys. We promise we will give you what you want next time. The Republicans do the same thing with evangelicals and other groups that vote for them. Just keep voting guys we will eventually give you what you want. Trump basically told them the truth. I am not going to ban abortion I most likely can't and I can't do much about faggots. But I won't let other people kick you around. The evangelicals were happy with that. Evangelicals also seem to care about other things than just their morality wish list. I know it's really strange that people are able to prioritize things as more important than others.

The GOP never tried to get these people to vote for any other reasons.

Not really. Overturning Roe vs Wade just pushed abortions back on the states. It's not an outright ban on abortions which a lot of people don't support anyway. States can try to ban abortions or stop them and that's about it.

The normie conservative right are pretty hypocritical. They call themselves conservative and say they want small government, but they don't really. They just want the government to do things they like and want done. Just like everyone else.

There is a big difference between a overreaching federal government which liberals love and the more decentralized state rights that conservatives adore. Also people seem to confuse libertarians and conservatives, though the reason is probably because you can find both within the GOP.

A boot on my neck from the nation's capital isn't any less painful than a boot on my neck from the state capital. It's still a boot on my neck.

Also, conserv's are just fine with using the feds for their morality policing.

The big secret is that every society and people will try to make laws that conform to their local culture and folkways. The trick is to find a culture that fits your lifestyle. Increasing decentralization allows for a broader range of these communities to develop. Get yourself to a State which most closely aligns with your variant of libertarianism, and the "puritanical" States won't be able hurt you.

Sorry, but my state would allow me to shoot violent protestors who burn and loot people's property. Shit, even award me a medal for doing it. I'm pretty sure feds will not be too happy about that no? Anyways, the three letter agencies are much more worse than anything your local government can do to you so people usually prefer it than the former.

Has conservatives weaponised the feds as hard as liberals ever did? Care to show any recent examples? I'd love to see some on the scale of Biden's DOJ.
