Amy is 34? Jfc, she looks like she’s 55+ in these. You would think this is some redneck grandma holding her grandsons. Yet again, I feel sorry for them. They’re innocent and were not asked to be brought into the shitty world of the Slatons. Amy better get her shit together and turn her life around (as in actually turn her life around and not to through a brief period of improvement followed by more awful choices) if she ever wants to see those boys grow up.

They are adorable now but living with the group they are stuck with will assure obesity, bad habits, and little to no education.

I agree with the post above talking about Amy as a parent. Obviously she loves them but that's just not enough.

I don’t think anyone is saying that she is a bad mother, what we are saying is that it was very selfish of her to have children in the first place. When multiple doctors keep advising you not to have children because your poor health will put both yourself and the potential child at risk and you still intentionally try to have them anyway, you’re automatically a bad parent.

And that’s is just the medical perspective, and doesn’t take into account the fact that Amy currently lives in an environment that is horrible for raising children, and she knows it. For fuck’s sake, the TLC cameras filmed her in that god awful, messy, filthy house with bug and mice infestations, and she wanted to raise two babies in it?

Not to mention that of course she’s going to continue to care for Tammy’s lard ass in some capacity. She’s already broke, how does she expect to support herself AND care for her enormous sick sister AND properly raise two children? I get that she had a desire for a family of her own, but that’s her weighing her own desire against the well-being of a child, HER child.

So she is selfish, just as she has always been. I have no reason to believe that someone with Amy’s known track record could ever be capable of properly raising one child, let alone two.

She literally smokes cigarettes around her baby and at least for awhile frequently kept him where he was nearby and exposed to a GIANT filthy ash tray, you can see it various youtube videos. Stop simping, Amy is a plain piece of shit. SHE MARRIED THE GUY WHO MOLESTED HER. Yes she was originally a victim, but that is certainly no excuse to abuse her child, and to have a child grow up with a molester as a father.

This shit is evil. Michael is evil. He plays the dimwitted, meek role when cameras are rolling but he molested Amy when she was 8 years old and he was like 13, "tricked" into going into the basement and somehow Chris was involved too, its some twisted shit. (reminder, she even says this in a video and she laughs it off like a funny memory). Michael has a dark side and I feel sorry for his children who did not ask to be born to this. Imagine if they have a girl and Michael takes a liking to her as she matures...

I am double posting to reiterate ALL THE SLATONS ARE EVIL. EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. They have fucked up shit in their DNA. There is no defending them. There is no "Wellllll maybe Amy isn't so bad" "Wow Michael is a really devoted father pushing Tammy around". You are fucking stupid if you believe any of that. The whole family is cursed with generations of the cycle of abuse, and they show no signs of breaking from it.

It makes me sick to look in TLC youtube comments and see all these mongoloids (mostly middle-aged women, of course, who else?) praising Amy and Michael and wishing all this good luck to them. The fanbase of this show and other shows on TLC (along with unrelated lolcow stuff) has convinced me that middle-aged to older boomer women are probably the stupidest people on this planet.

Get a grip. Amy was always a big gal. She was big af for 8 years old so it most likely didn't register in Michaels head the 5 year age gap. He was still a minor himself so who cares?

Amy and Michael are low iq as well as products of their environment. I don’t think Michaels a pedo, and while it’s best practice not to smoke around a baby it’s not CPS worthy.
