That fic just made me sad. Not even when the story is supposed to be about Rey and her gender, the narrative still prefers to concentrate on Alaina: how she'll react, how she'll feel about it and then how funny it's to her that Rey is less knowledgeable about anything than she is. Rey doesn't actually have any thought outside of that except that she liked to be called sir but we don't ever get a why or how that could related with her own sense of masculinity as a whole.View attachment 3516846

This is what actual butch women look like:
This is what you decided Rey had to look as:
What exactly is butch about this? How does this make her any different than how Alaina presents as?
Also a cologne that smells like "you've been fixing ships all the time" would be disgusting. Is that all Butch are for you, Liliana? Mechanics that smell like sweat and grease, "little grease monkeys". You could have google literally any masculine scent before putting that up for me to imagine.
This is even more sad because on that stupid fic about "consoling" their daughter Star, the narration went out of their way a lot to tell us all about how Alaina's mental health is reflected through how well she takes care of her looks. The timing made it seem like Rey cares more about how attractive her wife is than about actually comforting her toddler in distress, but the idea of a person externalizing internal issues is not a bad one. Why there's nothing like that for Rey?
She doesn't even like the cologne that started all of this or at least it reads like the ony reason she bought it at all was because Alaina likes it.
We don't have anything about how she might chose pants of a different cut than Alaina because it makes her more comfortable or how there are masculine figures she wishes to emulate or the way she likes to present herself as masculine or anything at all from her own perspective. She liked being called sir once while buying a gross cologne she doesn't even like and then spend the rest of the time worrying about Alaina. Then Alaina started calling her he/him. That was the entire gender journey of Rey. You'd expect a trans woman to at least try to do something better than that.
Since this is just "workshop", here's some advice for you, Liliana: don't bother trying to make Rey butch happens. It could happen but not with how you write her. She barely has any personality outside of Alaina as it is and then the small bit of masculinity you bother to bring out at all was because of Alaina. Just make her a femme who can repair ships as you clearly want to and stop using words you don't know the meaning of.
He/him lesbians is an actually very old idea you obviously don't understand.
