There are vaccines against it (real ones with lots of data to back them up, not like mRNA vaccines), they just don't get made in large quantities because most people aren't retarded enough to catch the disease. It's spread by close physical contact with infected lesions, so the odds of most people getting it is low.

Of course, now it's incubating in people with fucked-up immune systems, so it's mutating to become more transmissible.
