How fucking selective is the process for h game voice acting that Kronii couldn't make the cut?

The Japanese have very specific needs and I don't think Kronii could pull this off.

Holo-EN seriously neglects the mid-day USA / afternoon/evening Europe hours. Having someone help fill that hole won't do anything but help IMO.


I don't remember if she shared this story as Kronii or Dotovu, but she talks about one time she met one of her voice acting heroes/inspirations and asked them for their opinion on her work via a demo reel, and the person point blank said Kronii was fucking terrible to her face. She made it sound like it seriously messed with her confidence in voice acting for a VERY long time.

Who was her hero? Western VAs are pretty fucking terrible so I imagine they don't like any competition even if it's a newbie.

Cosplay people definitely are way more popular, because they get a lot of fans from people who are into cosplay, people who are into anime, and horny guys/girls. Western idols really only are popular with the, well, western idol fandom, which isn't particularly large.

IIRC, Lilypichu talked about how hard it is to break into the voice acting circles in the west due to the competition being very harsh and most of the time, even making it into the audition is a challenge in itself.

Yeah, I was gonna say. And the way Funi takes(or took) resumes/auditions was weird too. You gave them your resume, all they really do is add your name to a list, you get alley/emailed to try out like a year later, you’re give a script with some lines, they stick you in front of a mike and you just say the lines without seeing the lip flaps you’re supposed to match, and then they let you go.

Again, Kronii didn't specifically name a person. But based on the descriptions it seemed like a relatively major player in the Western VA market. I threw Monica out as a name to give an example of level she seemed to imply. I suspect it might have been from one of her Dottovu Q & A videos, because those are the only vids I can see were scrubbed from her Youtube acount. And of course, I can't find an archive of them anywhere.
