Asked a friend (theatre nurse) to look at this. Yes, that is pus. That is a very serious infection and they are genuinely amazed this person is not in hospital right now.
Edited to add: Just the inflammation alone is a serious sign of infection. This woman must be on very serious pain killers already for it to get this bad. Sepsis is a serious threat here.
