KG is a top tier dent, I remember a while back when one of phil's shenanigans was posted on reddit KG said something along the lines of "Hey, Phil's lead mod here" in the reddit thread, when in reality he is doing jannie work on a dead forum that Phil never even visits, imagine spending your time ban scanning a dead forum with 20 users(at most), admitting he doesn't even watch him makes it even more pathetic because it implies he is wasting his time white knigthing for a dude he knows nothing about, imagine being so desesperate for power that you spend your day being the jannie of a dead forum that revolves around a guy you don't even watch lmao.

DSP really needs a real life person to get thru to him.

He's a delusional narcissist with a gambling addiction. Nobody can genuinely get through to him, even if they're wrong, because he genuinely thinks he's always right. Even if he isn't, he'll do the mental gymnastics to cope, but in any case - you cannot get through to people like that. They always know best and always will. That's why 90% of relationship advice when narcissists are involved is "get the fuck out of the relationship". As you say, closest he got to that was his mother, and it was because he wanted to take her money. As soon as he got his, the deal was off. Covid fault, health issue fault, job history fault, anything but Phil.

You could have an intervention with his entire family, John, and anyone who has ever meant anything for him. You will still not change his ways. The only way he can be changed is under a conservatorship where he'd be forced to follow a set of rules. However, he will not learn anything from that and will relapse into his usual behavior first chance he gets.

And that could be the saddest thing about Phil Burnell. The people trying to help him are genuinely enabling his toxic and self-destructive behavior, and I goddamn hope they'll keep whaling because I want him as delusional, narcissistic and outrageous as I can get him, for my entertainment. The more controversies, and the money keeps coming in, the more he'll loosen up and allow himself to make a misstep, which usually results in some LOLs.

I didn't know where to post this: Main thread, Fan general, Favorite detractors or DSP's psychology, so I might as well dump it here and take all the puzzle pieces like a man.

There are many that consider DSP to be his own biggest detractor, and I mostly agree with that. 80% of DSP's problems could be solved with some deep introspection, a lot of hard decisions, and maybe a bit of help of a good therapist. But that takes effort, and DSP doesn't do the E-word.

The most recent "WWE: C vizible on phone" arc and DSP's whales' response to it, which was to sub bomb his channel and help him reach tip goals was somewhat thunk provoking for me. I think remember there were some smaller fish that left after the bank leaks, and maybe there will be some that will leave now, but not the whale(s); they apparently don't care. So what I'm wondering is can we consider his tippers as his worst (perhaps unwitting/ unwilling) detractors?

I'm sure we're all familiar with the phrases "It's NEVER enough" and "The vest streak broke him". One could easily argue that the whales did more indirect damage to Phil by constantly enabling his gacha addiction, than Tevin, the SoK or the TIHYDP people ever could have done through their videos or gay ops.
This is more of a rhetorical question, but do you think Phil ever took the time to calculate how much money comes from a single person? Do you think he's ever though about what would happen to him if that single person were to pull a Tut on him?

Also, some unrelated thoughts, because Phil fucking fascinates me. Several dozens of pages back, I remember people were discussing Phil's taste in entertainment , and how he couldn't really name anything more recent than the mid 2000s, which led people to speculate that he's mentally stuck in that time period. Which reminded me of another post I read in a different lolcow's thread, where a user said that people stop maturing when they become (in)famous.

I am fully aware this is armchair psychology, and I deserve the Dumb ratings I will receive, but do you think DSP's brain is stuck in 2005, when he was the #1 US ranked Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo, his hair was thick and full, his muscles rippling, and all the other lies he tells to himself to cope?

Well, yes and no, I think.

They are helping him, because he defines what "help" is, and they do their part. If he says that helping him is giving him money, then they help, regardless where that money goes. And their help has been completed as soon as they give him the money.

However, they are inherently hurting him as well. People aren't meant to live like this, being carried and spoiled throughout their entire lives. His fans' "help" has prevented Phil from improving in pretty much every facet of his life and business. And not just fail to improve - he's become much, much worse than he used to be.

You can also see this trend in the past few years, when anything that chat can't directly help him with is too hard. Going to the store, getting fast food, doing "errands" - the things he's left to independently do in life are overly difficult ot bothersome for him.

Having money handed to him has taught him to not appreciate and value it, therefore he spends it immediately and is always broke. Having people bail you out of every troublesome scenario teaches you to never rely on yourself, when you can just ask others for help and receive it easily. Same is with knowledge. He never looks anything up or does research because he can just ask someone. Vest streak taught him that he doesn't need to put in any effort in gaming as long as he keeps reminding people to tip, and guilt tripping them.

I think somewhat at least. Back then it was the good old days, and outside of gaming, he hasn't really had many significant or impactful positive experiences since. He dated a bitch, broke up, married another bitch all while the internet was fucking with him. Back then it was a simpler time, when he could freely talk out of his ass, and simply claim to be an alcoholic when someone wanted to beat him up.

There's a video out there of him talking about the mobile games he is currently playing, four I think, and he says WWE Champions is the worst one.

It is an old "ask the king" from 2017. The most you could use it for is to prove that we know he did play it at one point, not that he currently plays it. We have everything else for that.

Maybe it's me, maybe I've never been this drunk. How the fuck do you "not realize how much you spent". Wings just nukes the start of his argument with saying he can see how Dave could do that.

It's not as dumb as it sounds. If you spend little and often, you are far less likely to notice how much you spend in the end, along with how much easier it is to justify a 5 buck spend 10 times vs a 50 buck spend. And considering that microtransaction systems are designed to maximize the dopamine rush every time you spend, it's also easier for someone with an addictive personality to want to chase that rush.

To a rational person anyone supporting his addictions is an enabler in a similar way to a dealer or friend continuing to give an addict drugs. Phil isn't that poor addict that got hooked on drugs and needs help though, he is the crackhead stealing your bike and smashing your car window to get his fix. But it's not like anyone here is stupid enough to give him money (well, most people anyway) so he is harmless in the grand scheme of things.

As for being stuck in the past, he actually had friends, socialization, genuine popularity, and money back in the day, so I'd agree he probably most closely associates with that time since it was the peak of his life. I don't know if he actually realizes what a trainwreck his life is now and just tries to hide it, or if he has pignosis'd himself, or if he is such a shell he just doesn't care at this point as long as he has gin and WWEC. Personally I do think he hates his life and is mostly a shell, I can't see anyone who would willing live such a meaningless existence if they didn't hate themselves. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter though, because it is hilarious to see Phil try to navigate these situations and cope and seethe which is why he is a lolcow.

Its clear that khet isn't going to be the one. He doesn't have friends so that just leaves his mom.

I think she would have to be the one to try and help him with his addiction.
