Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

How would you guys make an internet arg work? I know it would never work, but if it could somehow, how would you?

You used to just have to hope it took off on /x/ - pretty sure that's probably still the best way. Doing it through any other medium is blatantly forced.
Like 99% for every ARG. That's why I pretty much lost interest for them. But some ARGs are pretty open about being in a fictional universe and those are generally fun.

I guess discover an actual real-life fucked up conspiracy and then exploit it as an arg?
That would be true kino, but you'll probably get suicided before you can confirm it.

I read the written version ages ago on some creepypasta site, so I'm sure the podcast version is different. I'd imagine they've cleaned up a lot of the shittier parts since it exploded into a modest success.

I don't know, I just remember the payoff being really underwhelming, especially since they build this mysterious noise up the whole story only to reveal it's essentially nothing. And like you said, the police force and "elite" of a town of like 2,000 having a literal Epstein rapefarm that nobody is allowed to question or talk about is just silly. People don't just let their missing family go.

Not to even get into the retarded logistics of buying babies from a black market rape farm instead of just adopting. So many aspects of the story would have been fixed if they had just been running a trafficking ring or harvesting organs or something.
It could work if it had been that the girls and women were already pregnant, and sent to the facility (like the "fallen women's homes" in Ireland) where the babies were sold, but then that'd kind of give away the twist. As it is, it doesn't work.
Is Borrasca the dumbfuck story where the sheriff of a small town kidnaps women from said small town to turn them into baby factories because every woman in the small town is sterile (except the ones he kidnaps because?????)
IIRC he only kidnaps the girls and women who had moved to the town from somewhere else, rather than being born there and sterilised.

The Black Watchmen touches on a few old real-life ones, and A Hand With Many Fingers does. They're past ones that have since been declassified though IIRC.

Been a long time coming on this one, some of these testimonies have been popping up over the last two years. Apparently Max is going to front up to Nick DeOreo on the allegations soon.
Downloaded the original video and the "Traffic by William" one and will post the archives to his thread tomorrow.

When does it happen?

New video from Mr.Mythos. he continues to be the best supernatural/occult YouTuber out there.
I like his videos and all, but i can't help but feel off whenever I watch his videos, like he thinks too highly of himself especially with his claim to be "The most researched videos" where most of the stuff he says is just surface level stuff.

I can't remember exactly but I think the towns sterility is caused by contaminated water, which means that even the OP's sister being kidnapped and making "shit" (incest) babies doesn't make sense because she'd been drinking the water for a few years before then so she should have been made sterile. It's an interesting concept that could have been great but falls apart when you think about it.

Took longer than expected. I'm just hoping that Max's fanbase doesn't come out of the woods to harrass the people featured in the video, but we all know they'll do that and give us more content to laugh at.

Honestly? You just don't. Keeping it as a "Webseries" with your own characters, worldbuilding, and keeping the interaction between you and your audience at arms length will get you much farther than over relying on your audiences responces.

1: create a fake social media profile, upload like 50 shitty short videos, probably some shaky camera footage with some grainy low res quality, maybe say some bible references or some edgy crap , flash random numbers.
2: make a bunch of random posts with cryptic over complicated connections to the shitty videos and more random numbers and codewords
3: let them sit for months and then post it on reddit and 4chan pretending i found them by pure chance and i am totally not the same guy who made everything "whoah guys what do you think, could it really be a spoopy serial killer haunted satanic cult cia skinwalker alien ghost???"
4: sockpuppet the shit out of the responses with alt accounts, giving away the clues to make it seem a community of genius detectives actually gives a shit about it
5: Use yet more fake accounts to send the threads to memetubers
6: ?????
6: Congratulations, you now gay and will die of aids.

-Come up with a concept for a (hopefully) interesting mystery.
-Decide whether you want it to be explicitly fiction (Mandela Catalog and such) or pretend at first that it's real (there's many of those; think of that cartoonist faggot who pretended there was a ghost boy in his house). The former gives you more artistic freedom, the latter tends to get more organic engagement, if you manage to fool some people initially.
-Plan what kinds of media you'll use to tell the story, according to the concept and what you can reasonably pull off with your skills. Going with only or mostly just text used to work back in the blog days, nowadays you'll need at least photos, better yet video.
-Create a social media account, possibly multiple, from where you'll LARP as one person on the receiving end of the mystery.
-Create other social media accounts (moles, for lack of a better word) that'll interact with the main one to drive engagement, and others to function as a supporting cast, antagonists, or just deliver more info to expand the mystery.
-Create more social media accounts, posts, or even websites, completely disconnected from the main one, and put relevant information to be found. Lay clues in your main and secondary accounts that'll lead to them. Do this well in advance to the actual ARG happening, so the account creation and post dates aren't all too close to each other. Hopefully people will find them organically, if not, use the "mole" accounts to direct people, or even to "make the discoveries" if you lose patience.
-Carefully plan the way the story will be delivered, and schedule the posts.
-Come up with contingency plans to deal with setbacks, or even game-jackers, faggots who will try to insert themselves in the story. Things WILL get derailed at times, so you need flexibility.
-Accept that the facade can't go on forever, the fictional nature of it will become apparent sooner or later, more so if the concept is ambitious.
-For the love of God have a good ending planned.

The best advice I can give to making a passable ARG is not have a plan and not give into autists and clout. The majorities of ARGs get ruined because their creators have no plan or decide to scrap their plans for what can gather the most attention at once, with either result usually causing a story to devolve into the kind of shit autists want. Validating theories and introducing high amounts of community interaction fucks you up in the long run because you start to lose people actually interested in solving the ARG and you're left with a bunch of tards who want to see the story they have played out in they head be put into action.

Once again using children for his fame gain. Disgusting.
Still sitting at 334,000 how's that 1 mil coming along PM?
Also his new opening song reminds me of the shit CorpseHusband does without the screaming goblin.

Also the poster in the background. View attachment 3274296
literally two months later, he ain't getting to a mil by 2023. And I can't help but laugh.

I feel like Mr. Mythos tries to make it appealing to a younger audience, so it ends up being sensationalized. It's not bad, but it's not great either. He also doesn't focus on things, just gives a broad view of it all.
In my opinion, Esoterica does a much better job at explaining older and more obscure religions and cults, with actual studies of language and text.
