Military school is for joining the military. The latter of which autists can't legally do

Military school *can* lead to joining the military, but tons of kids are sent there just to learn discipline rather than join the military. These schools often have ROTC programs which *are* meant to prepare people for future military service (specifically officers), and are a pipeline to the academy, but that is not the majority of students at the school.

Less than 10% of military school students go on to join the military. Again, these schools are not for joining the military. They're for teaching kids discipline. You aren't allowed to decide to join the military until you're 17/18 anyway. An 8 year old third grader in military school is in no position to make that decision.

You may be confusing it with the military *academies*, which are university-level institutions run by the military specifically to train officers. Academy graduates are expected to join the military as officers, and you don't go unless you intend to be one.

Or for getting a sociopathic little fuckup out of your house and away from the kitchen knives, as well as a last ditch effort to turn them into something that isn't a sociopathic little fuckup.

Military school is for joining the military.

LOLno.

Military school is for getting your ill mannered or embarrassing children far away and out of your hair for a few years where they will receive the kind of discipline they need (but that would get your own ass busted by CPS).

If your kid does enter the military after graduating, well that's a bonus, but even if they don't, they're usually old enough after graduation that you don't have to let them back into your home.

All that'll do is just teach those kids how to be better sociopaths
Depends. They don't diagnose sociopathy in kids, generally, precisely because many of them actually do grow out of it, some with a little help. If they're being sent to military school it may be too late already though.

Are you joking? Have you ever looked closely at children? They're all little sociopaths. Becoming an adult is largely a process of growing out of that behavior.
Chris never did, neither did Bella.
Funny that you mention that, I always wondered why Bella still acts like an edgelord tween despite being a legal adult

A lot of kids go through an edgelord phase, but they mostly outgrow it by high school. Bella Jenkem was not only larping as the dangerous hacker known as 4chan in her university years, she decided to make some sort of clique as well and bring her edgelord persona to real life.

Bella is emotionally stunted and has not mentally grown past middle school years (at best). The fact that she has obviously never felt the consequences of her actions while growing up makes her the freakshow that we're currently observing.

Not all children have to go to military school

Most children manage to grow the fuck up all on their own.

There are essentially two types of candidates for military school: bad children, and children with bad parents.

Bella is both. So is Chris.

Just because you're legally an adult doesn't make you one.

The Japs have a word for it: Chunibyo. It essentially means "middle school syndrome".

Bella definitely has it, but I don't think Chris managed to get that far developmentally.

Neither Bella, nor Chris are children. Meaning they can't into Military School. Unless there exists Military Schools for turbo-manchild adults that I just don't know about

Neither Bella, nor Chris are children.

Not physically, no.

Meaning they can't into Military School.

It depends on the school and how much money the parents are willing to spend.

But we were talking about sending them off while they were still minors. Once a child reaches the age of majority, there's nothing stopping their parents from just kicking them out.

@DawnDusk gives the Series of Tubes a helpful summary. Most of this won't be new to anyone here, of course. But the behind the scenes stuff with the crazy mother is new and interesting and gives some extra context for this thread. Hi Athena, I know you read this thread!

Anyway, going to listen to this classic for the first time in almost a year
