How was Chris paying the cell phone bill while He was in jail? I'd think whatever carrier He uses would have shut Chris' phone off for non payment, and Chris would have to pay everything He owes to get it re activated.
The cellular line might be dead, but he could still use wifi and have the phone basically act as a pocket computer.

I’m pretty sure someone said that family was taking care of Barb. Wouldn’t surprise me if they sold the house or are waiting for the bank to take it away. I’ve heard it’s easier to get into a retirement home broke than with money? Not sure how true that is.

I think the running theory is that family came in and took Barb back to their house since 14BC is in the sticks and is a pain to get to normally if you don't live close by. Its unclear what their plans are for the property but I suspect they don't include Chris living there anymore.

I think Chris lucked out getting an actually decent lawyer, but yeah he had no idea what the hell he was getting into when Chris came up on the docket so probably wants him out of his fuckin life.
Nah, Chris is small potatoes compared to what I suspect are some real horror stories out there. Plus the lawyer likely had an intern or something handle most of the court work anyway.

The only reason why they wouldn't throw the book at him would be because the judge is really into internet culture, and thinks there's still tard cum to be milked from this lolcow.

The reason they won't throw the book at him is because they don't want to turn this into a drawn out public affair, when they could just work out something with the defense to settle the matter that costs less to prosecute while still achieving their desired objectives.

Any idea what that additional charge might be? I can think of a few things that could be laid on him in circuit court, but nothing that J&DR could throw at him. I'm not saying there isn't anything, just that I can't think of it. The prosecution might try to charge him with multiple counts of incest, but that would be stretching IMO. It's a lot easier to prove that incest has occurred than to prove individual, specific acts of incest.

Any speculation I make is pretty empty as we have no idea what sort of evidence they have. It could be tons of things though, as you probably know that alternative charges can get pretty inventive in a plea deal.

In terms of what they could charge him with while seeking conviction, the next most likely one is the crimes against nature one IMHO. But for a plea deal it could be just about anything, like something related to his position as Barb's caretaker.

What’s the chance some ween manages to sneak a camera into the hearing?

Extremely likely since most places allow you to carry your cellphone. They understand that everyone has a camera on them. They watch you like a hawk though to see if you're actually trying to use it.

Anything that looks like an obvious camera that could be concealed won't be allowed in when they check you at security. Only devices that *happen* to have a camera in them that they can know to look for.

What really prevents it from occurring is the trouble you can get in if you filmed it and then leak the footage. It's a courtroom, not a stadium. They can figure out who filmed it from where the camera is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure another continuance can't happen since it's been almost a year.

A continuance definitely can happen, and it's not unlikely that there will be another short one at least before Chris is released, and if Chris has to meet any obligations there will still be hearings after he is released -- the trespassing/therapeutic docket case of Chris' is an entire page full of continuances.

Remember, continuance isn't "we're doing nothing", it means "there's still stuff to do".

I don’t know what you guys think the past year has been… he’s being punished as we speak and he has gotten what seems to be the max for his crime (1 year in prison, no parole)

He can't get 1 year in prison in this court, only 1 year in jail. You don't get parole in jail, just good time credit (50% in Virginia).

And even if he were sentenced to prison, Virginia abolished parole in 1995 (though enforcement of that got pushed back to 2000 due to a problem with the law). Any sentence for a felony committed after 2000 is by default without parole. (There are still exceptions where you can be paroled if you are old and sick, for instance).

Technically he has four days left of the maximum sentence, and the judge could deduct the time he spent in a mental hospital. But if Chris took a plea bargain, its likely the judge will ignore the other four days as it would be too much effort and cost too much money to get Chris booked into state prison for less than a week.

The judge has to count the time he spent in the hospital, it's still time served according to Virginia code.

If the judge sentences today he might well suspend the last few days, though if I were Chris I'd want to just serve them and clear them all out. But even it's getting resolved now, sentencing could happen at another hearing tomorrow or on Monday.

Chris would not get sent to state prison. He'd go back to jail. Prison is for felonies and this court can only sentence Chris to a misdemeanor. It can only ever send him to jail.

I would think one of the conditions of his release would be not using the Internet

His crime didn't directly involve the internet. While they might get creative for Chris' sake and require he not go to porn/incest sites or something, people are generally not totally cut off from the internet today.

According to this we should expect 11 AM to 1 PM as custody cases start then.

For a moment I read that as you suggesting that Chris' case was a custody case. :tomgirl:

Can you imagine how soul crushing it must be to have to listen to Chris babble on about the merge and Sonichu and whatnot? Major respect to Chris' lawyer for not finding a way to weasel out of representing him.
Well, it was clear that Chris' court appointed attorney has been around. Also it would have looked very bad for the attorney to back out once He found out how mentally and emotionally disabled Chris is.

That’s a interesting factor right there, that Barb somewhat reconnected with her family over this, so while they might not be around her every day, I’d imagine somebody is at least ensuring Chris the ex-con doesn’t come lumbering through the front door with jailhouse blue balls and a bag of lube for Barb.
If he does get released and has his phone charged, the possibility of him having a tantrum on video due to (possibly) all his shit being thrown out is high.
(Yes I am aware we don't exactly know if the stuff is actually gone or not, I just want to see him throw a tardrage fit)
All the minutia that’s piled up after a year in jail is going to be a extra hassle to deal with, especially if he’s homeless. His phone service is likely shut off, his SSDI status, change of mailing addresses, banking account bullshit, etc. I’m legit mildly stressed just thinking about all the tasks waiting for him, so I can hardly imagine how he’s going to handle it. Especially since he won’t have a home base to work from and no longer enjoys the “harmless clown” status he used to enjoy.

Today’s the fucking day. Who wants to take bets? I’m putting a lot of money on mention of being the messiah... as well as any mention of fictional material. Is this the day the dimensions merge, lads? Reality and Chris’ pathetic existence colliding to form a black hole of autistic spergury?

Chris announces that he's gonna start suing everyone who wronged him to raise the 150K he needs to save the temple.

Very slight powerlevel: I am Ronnie Davis, the director of the United States Marshal Service. I can’t get into details, but we’ve been asked to allocate all available resources for a prisoner transfer today from a family court in central Virginia to ADX Florence.

Idk if he can access his youtube or if the ween who made the :julay: video changed the password, but his twitter is still up so I can see him camping at McDonald's, filling his guts with much needed junk food and firing off tweet after tweet of insanity ramblings and anathemas against Null/the trolls.
