But from my viewpoint, Shad had contacts at Newgrounds (minus Jeff who despised him then and still despises him now), like the guys who went on to create Sleepycabin; the guys who made 'Sanity not included' and various commission work outside of the Shadbase mantle that he could use in a portfolio. He even worked on that ad I posted earlier that Mick Lauer created.
Pre-2017 Shaddai Prejean had a lot of disturbing shit online that he had created, but none of it was to the level of the Keen piece he did - in fact it was about the same level as early Oney, Spazkid, Psychicpebbles and other Newgrounds artists, many of whom now have professional careers. The animation companies seem (uncomfortably) forgiving of early disturbing art from it's employees. Even their disturbing behaviour. Jesus, just read up on the shit John Kricfalusi got up to. Or what the animators for Rugrats would draw for "funsies" behind the scenes back in the 90s (hint: it involved incest and child abuse "jokes" in the storyboards that never got made into cartoons. Like it was the office 'Aristocrats' joke). Or all the sexual stuff that gets snuck in in Disney movies by its animators. John Kricfalusi was one of the worse culprits and no one ever called him out for dating 13 and 15 year old girls in clear view of his coworkers while he was working at Nickelodeon.
Yes the other animators could've known who Shaddai Prejean was online, but I'd be very surprised if they'd even care. In fact I'd be less surprise if some of them hadn't been fans. All Shadman's Newgrounds associates immediately went on the defense for Shad - most likely because they either liked the shit Shad did or that they made similar stuff themselves - so it kinda seems like animator tend to be pretty fucked in the head when it comes to their sense of "humor" and I honestly think Shadman would've fit right in.
The Kricfalusi accusations didn't come out in public until 2019(ish) and before then he was still getting hailed as a hero in the animation community. So until that point someone like Shadman - who drew his fantasies of fucking under-aged girls but had never acted on them - was probably seen as vanilla in comparison in those circles.
I think the only thing that would've lost Shad a job at Cartoon Network is him bringing too much heat to the company; and Tom's expose would've been that heat. Especially after 2019 when the truth came out about Kricfalusi . It's one thing to be secretly a degenerate who is into kids too much, but - after the Kricfalusi scandal came out - it was another matter entirely to be posting on Discord about how much he wanted to fuck the 12 year old girl from Logan. I think - if Shad had worked at Cartoon Network - then Tom would've cost him that job

It's a very interesting and informative thread, you should really read it from the start. You can skip through a lot of the pages though, because a lot of it is just pointless bickering about legal age of consent laws and whether or not loli/shota is cp. I feel like I've said this before, but it should be re-stated every now and again, everything he does seems like he is doing it for attention. If I can't have fame, I'll have infamey kind of thing. It was a twitch stream, I think while playing borderlands 3, years ago I listened to it and he talks about pushing boundaries and getting attention and how he had done it all, but, something hurt him, and I have no idea what it was. He took like a month long break after his comic got negative reception.

I think that the true "breaking point" was the end of Sleepycabin. Shad was a fuck-up before and got an intervention by ColossalIsCrazy at that time (because of Keem's daughter), but he and especially Stamper spiraled down catastrophically after that. Both have brought their precarious circumstances upon themselves, but I'd still feel genuine pity for Stamper. For Shad? No.
