Ecstacy of Car was so good. He's definitely a better physical comedy kind of guy. Rochefort is the one with the fast quips and Sam is much better out in the field.

In terms of the 54k a year, we don't have enough information if it was contract, if the video output had to be higher, if TNP would have to work on other content for sam, but one thing for sure is that if you plan to have a career in editing (even just for youtubers) 54k to work for a burdonsome individual whos name will be a poison on any resume is NOT the steal of a deal you think it is, once the gravy train with Sam dries up TNP would have nothing to leverage since no one would want to touch anyone associated with Sam on Youtube and having a gap in your resume is always bad.

In terms of Sams content being shit now compared to the early days, Sams admitted that he takes a 'workman' approach to making content, all this really means is that he has no passion for making content and is solely doing it to make a buck in a timely manner, now thats fine I guess, AVGNs been doing that for over a decade now but it's really hard to force funny and it's very obvious that it's all gonna be downhill from here for Sam.

I don't see how a reasonable person could look at sams life and consider him a failure. It's like calling axl rose a failure because he's not at the same level of success as he was in his earlier days. He's still a musician whose sold millions of records- you can't take that away just because circumstances change. Sam is a comedian who manages to support himself/others with his craft. He's someone who managed to get a TV show he created to air on network television (getting something as controversial as MDE to air on adult swim in the first place is an amazing achievement). He's also someone who hasn't sacrificed themselves by bending to societal norms.

A failure is someone who never persues what they're passionate about. A failure is someone who coasts through life quietly desperate & miserable, working a job they hate, putting on a face every day to make a living. Sam doesn't fit that category

Some say Sam is a failure because he is no longer passionate, he no longer has the energy he use to and his uploads are a lazy paycheck. I don't think most people get what it means to be a successful artist, you lose your passion all the time. You just have to push through every gallery exhibition and pump out your work or you will never make it as a full time artist. Maybe 5% of success in arts has to do with talent, the rest is a grind. "Pursuing your passion" is a late capitalist meme that is eternally unreachable, it's normal to hate your life from time to time.

Sam is obviously successful in his profession, edgy internet comedian. We all know about him. He won because he has a loyal audience that won't ever cancel him or turn on him. All these years of grinding as an artist payed off, Internet Daddying is lucrative, low-effort, and uncontroversial.
