As the Richard Paris showed, Mark Kelly has a 3 point lead over Masters, but there is still 12% undecided, of those 12%, 75% hate Joe Biden. This is straight out of 2016 all over again.

It's why Masters is technically winning, because you would see article after article if Kelly was legitimately ahead thanks to minimized undecided support. Polls (mostly Republican backed TBH) are showing Dem support because breaking down nuance is too difficult and the average reader is only going to go to that which supports their base position.

It's why no one is talking about Kemp being ahead in Georgia, because to do so acknowledges the fact the Dems are actually losing and that the only reality of November is the Republicans winning at minimum the House.

You are overthinking it. Its as simple as maintaining a narrative. If they came out said "he's secluding for an additional week for no particular reason" it looks suspicious as fuck. Claiming a rebound gives them more plausible cover.
