The guy making out with the woman in the backroom of the shack at the start iirc has an invitation, just lure him away with a coin or something. Another guy in one of the tents has one, and at least one other dude maybe at the beginning has one too.
Yea I think you can also just lockpick a sidedoor and walk in. The invite just opens up the front, but the main wedding section is not a trespassing area even without the invite
"Yame! Yame!" Holy fuck these developers did not care.
I had planned to actually play Hitman 2 and give an opinion in case the guy who was asking about the earlier games was still interest. But I've hit a brick wall with the Japan missions. I could wrestle with the shitty design and lack of playtesting but I have a policy of not putting more effort into playing a game than the devs put into making it.
It's a shame, too, because I really enjoyed the St. Petersburg missions. If the game had kept that level of quality and atmosphere all the way through I would absolutely have been prepared to give a recommendation.
To be fair the Japan missions are the nadir of the entire series. The rest of that game is way better, there's some really fun missions in Malaysia and India, there's one other stinker in Russia and Afghanistan but that's the beginning trap
I just fired up BM to see how long it took them to do something. From the moment the PiPcam show the delivery boy making the drop to Kulinsky shooting him took ~12 minutes. If you include the (random) time the delivery boy takes to get to Puriyah's office, you probably have at least a quarter of an hour before they shoot him.
Another fun quirk of this mission is that while Mason will see through your disguise if you dress as Kulinsky (obviously) Puriyah will not. I guess he doesn't recognize his own associates/employees
Just for shits and giggles I loaded up A Vintage Year with the Desert Eagle to see if I could cap both targets without being caught. I did my usual strategy of syringe guard by west perimeter > drainpipe > syringe and dispose of sleeping VIP guard. At this point instead of killing Delgado quietly I shot him right in the head with the DE and hid in a side room for a few minutes.
After the heat died down I stood by the door to that little room where Delgado Jr. snorts a line. When the pink-shirted one came in, I domed him and ran like hell. Changed back into my suit and ran straight to the seaplane.
I awaiting my rank fully expecting to find noise at max and violence at min only to find...
Silent Assassin.
Despite using a loud weapon and allowing both bodies to be found, the game still thought I was worthy of the best rank in the game. Blood Money is one of my favorite games but sometimes I feel like I don't understand it at all.
Edit: Plus it was on normal, so it wasn't some weird quirk of Rookie difficulty
that's really cool actually. i think normal mode is very lenient with bodies found but i dont remember. i mostly play the new games, played a lot of blood money on the ps2 but i've got like 2000 hours on the trilogy
I'm really enjoying the Freelancer mode since it released. The optional objectives with significant payout bonuses cause you to vary your approach quite a bit making every mission that much more unique. The risk of losing the gear you bring with you, the incentive to bring rarer high level gear due to costing less loadout points and the inability to save game on missions causes you to really have to stalk your targets and form a solid plan. All this alongside the fact that you aren't punished for when a job gets messy so long as you get your man and make it out alive has made this the most fun I've had playing the new Hitman trilogy, and that's saying a lot. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.
playing Blood Money for the millionth time rn, i got a brand new laptop which is great with running games so I downloaded a steam torrent of it and reliving some memories
also if nobody has ever seen this: there's this crazy good Finnish nerd who speedruns the whole game on the hardest difficultly and he makes it look so easy.

Currently enjoying my annual How Not to Play Hitman binge:
Certified youtube relics at this point, the first being uploaded back in 2006. They were originally started on Gamespot by user "NotBowen" (seemingly "Tom Bowen" now), he actually made a return episode with a WOA video about a year ago but there's been nothing else since. The original videos are very dated and low quality but that's the charm of it... real nostalgic if you were there for "Broadcast yourself" youtube.
Great editing for 2006 also, though he gets a little carried away with intro segments in the later episodes.

The Sean Bean ET seems to be back for free for a limited time in the ET arcade and you have to beat it 3 times like an escalation. The first time you have to kill him with the pen in the eye assassination, the second has no additional objectives so you can do what you like, but the third one you can't change your starting outfit or be spotted doing anything suspicious. If you fail at any point you have to start back at the first one again (pen assassination).
I don't understand why they brought it back this way. Just making you repeat the mission 3 times but with a much more difficult objective on the final attempt that makes you restart everything if you fail is dumb. It's immediately repetitive and frustrating. I failed the third mission and haven't retried because fuck doing it 6 times.

Turns out he is indeed back as a normal elusive target on Miami with 9 days left now and I'm just retarded. I guess doing it a 4th time isn't so bad. I maintain that the arcade mode for it is ass.

Im mixed on arcade. On the one hand having to do a series of challenges perfectly is a good test. On the other, this game has a bad habbit of seeing you through walls and floors, or chokeholds from behind becoming front punches.
If you feel you've been cheated or just can't help yourself you can alt+f4 (close application on console) and then relaunch the game and start the current step over again no concequence. This also works for freelancer.
edit: also arcade has some of the better looking rewards so at least it pays off if you care about those.
Crying about him being based but not about the fact they put him in fucking ISLE OF SGAIL. Also shouldnt they be cheering they get to brutally murder him...
