What are people who identify as Republican but hate the Republican party classified as?
Republican, just as commies who hate the Democrat Party but are part of it like AoC are still Democrats.

The U.S. runs on a concept called "The Big Tent Theory". Put simply, both main parties are actually the combination of multiple smaller parties and interests who have banded together under a common tent. Theoretically, these internal parties would come to agreement on major issues and then present as a unified front to the country what those values are.

To identify as Republican and hate the party is to simply acknowledge you fall under the larger tent but have severe issues with that portrayed unified front. And what you see with the Populists is an attempt to change that unified front to better portray the combined views of the big tent.

Addition: For the Brits or Aussies in here, it basically means that the Republican and Democrat parties are preestablished coalition governments.

In a sane world her and Milley would have been hauled in front of a court the moment they admitted they subverted civilian control of the military (in theory at least, since the president is elected and has executive control over things like nuke codes etc, the military can be said to be under civilian control), Nancy by seeking control of nuke codes and Milley telling China he'd give them the preemptive advantage.
In theory? Its outright stated in Article 2, Section 2 of the Constitution the President is the Commander-in-Chief of the US military. Congress has no authority over it, and someone like Milley going against Trump is... well, there's a lot of parts of the UCMJ that I'm sure apply to something like that.

There are two official names for the Coronavirus: COVID-19 and Wuhan Flu. Calling it "the China virus" or "chink flu" is quite immature, insensitive and inaccurate.
The name of the coronavirus is SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2.

"China virus" is accurate, but not precise. "Wuhan wet market virus" or "Wuhan Institute of Virology virus" would be precise.

You are somewhat of an oddity in that you switched to an R rather than becoming a R lean. Most people will not switch to R, but become an R with an R lean in this scenario.
Covid really left me out of step with my social circles. I watched people I know swing wildly from position to position ("I'm going to wait before taking an experimental vaccine" to driving hours to get it the moment it's available, as one small example).

When NPC theory became a thing on 4chan I thought it was really funny and a good "gotcha." I thought it was a joke but since then the "updates" are so often and radical that I can't identify with these people at all any more. Like I said in the previous post, when the supposedly anti-war people I knew were super OK with Obama doing it I was squicked out but I just dealt with it mostly silently. I has that kind of experience every couple years where I felt like they were being emphatic but inconsistent.

Now it's like they update their opinions every month.

You are right about the "oddity" part. I'm still trying to make sense of what happened. Politics didn't seem that important but then it did. I only know one person IRL who moved R also and she was more anti-D than me for a much longer time.

I guess it was populism that did it. I think I'm a late member of the Bernie->Trump pipeline. I hated wokeism and 2015 Bernie was all "class." After class stopped being a thing on the left I just couldn't take it seriously anymore.

The main reason I'm on this site is because it has some 90s democrats who are not OK with where things have gone, but also some people who have always been right leaning and it's an interesting conversation between those two worlds.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk therapy session.

.....you sit there and think about what you've said, and how retarded it is, nigga.
I have a little over a hundred pages that I'm not even going to read the highlights on because I know it will be tedious.

How moderators put up with reading all of that is beyond me.

Looks like Pelosi buckled to the Chinks.

Taiwan is now officially off the visit list for her trip.

Chairman Meows hook must go pretty deep to force a public recant at the last minute.
It's more complex than that. They wouldn't have ever put Taiwan on the actual itinerary because of security concerns. I'm not even sure where this "Pelosi is going to Taiwan" thing came from.

But yeah, if she WAS intending on it, she definitely cucked. And CCP, being CCP and thus full of Han Shit, would obviously try to posture about it and take credit for it.

I hope to god Trump wins in 2024 and the first diplomatic trip he does is to Taipei, complete with several aircraft carriers parked right outside of Taiwan right in the way of the chinks. No one orders us around, especially not Asia's cumrag.

I've been looking for a concise but detailed way to explain this for a while.

Prepare to have this quoted in future discussions regarding the U.S. needing more than two parties.

The Big Tent is an inevitable but not necessarily negative result of first past the post voting. You lose more clearly delineated parties and the ability for new tents to appear, but you also gain more internal cohesion and encourage via mechanics cooperation among the political parties.

Call it "Gook Pox" of "Slant Shivers" or "Zipperhead Blues" or "Dog Eater Fever."

Fuck being nice to a hostile nation full of bug people.

It's funny that the Chinese managed to make it look like Drunken Pelosi got bullied into not visiting Taiwan.

This fucking Admin keeps publicly failing but behind the scenes they keep managing to get shit done for their donors with some of these bills.

Gonna be an interesting election.

It’s not inaccurate as it really did come from China. It’s only insensitive because idiots treated it as offensive to state where it came from, which itself is due to China treating it offensive to call out its fuck up.

Calling it covid or coronavirus was a way of whitewashing history as it was being made.

Pelosi trip looks to be happening so China can piss and shit itself over a geriatric woman visiting another country.
