Caught a good chunk of the interview. Pardoe went into detail that as an independent contractor, Catalyst can terminate a contract at any point, so he has no ground to sue them. That said, he needs to go after "Faith" like a vengeful god. He brought up how as a part of the court order against Faith, Faith could not talk negatively about Blaine on social media and they broke the court order within a few days. I don't remember if he said he was going to go after "Faith" or not but, again, he needs to. This problem isn't going away anytime soon.

Tex of the BlackPantsLegion, along with a bunch of the core group of guys he runs with are a bunch of "Leave me alone, or else" style Libertarian type gun-guys. It's also pretty safe to assume if push came to shove, he would be a "right" Libertarian, instead of a "left" Libertarian. But that's because the Left Libertarians (i.e, Progressive Communists with a paint job), will inevitably put a gun to his head to force the issue.
It's safe to say that the Progressive mob will eventually go after him, in a fashion much more intense than the passing glance he had with Arch.

I’ve started listening to his podcast and he seems to get hung up on how the gungrabbing never amounts to anything. I think he really doesn’t understand the nature of the rot, or how willing to escalate at every turn these people are, or that they genuinely hate everything hestands for and would rather he be in a camp.

Those who want to accumulate power, will inevitably want to use it. You will not be left alone. No they don't care how much it will cost them to fuck you over, so long as they can do it. Leftism fundamentally requires a "Universalization of Ethics" I.e. everyone must be forced to take the leftist/progressive/communist worldview, in order for their Utopia to be realized. The "I just want to grill" mentality that so many Libertarians have leaves you powerless, isolated, and unaware. Perfect pickings for the ravenous predators.

This alongside getting people to be interested in making their own things again. Re-encourage craftsmanship and discipline. This consumer culture after all started all the way back when Ed Bernays help found consumerism as a way to prop up failing corporations as people only bought what they needed.
There's a lot of tech that is simply kept out of public hands because it hurts the corpotocracy's bottom line. Such as engines that could run on cooking oil. And notice how there is a concerted effort in making people stupid and dependent on the system ala minsinformation, propaganda (direct like the news and indirect like most popular fictional media). Its because producers do not make good consumers. Just look at how the average person that does own a home with backyard hardly even does their own victory garden or raise some animals. Let alone the knowledge of how to make hardtack crackers especially with the whole hyperinflation bullshit.
TL;DR: Knowledge and application is the key out of tyranny.
Also, with all this trannyshit, I can't help but be reminded of this old cartoon and how oddly appropriate it is today.

His only exposure to the sheer insanity seems to be the blowback from his talk with Arch, not that I particularly like him. I wonder how he’d react to seeing that seething hatred lurking just beneath the surface of people he considered colleages the way most of us did back in ‘14.

I've looked into the kind of stuff Pardoe wrote on American Thinker, American Greatness and also read the synopsis of his new novel Blue Dawn and I have to say... the guy is unhinged, very divisive in his rethoric and he spews a lot of vitriol towards the left... not just the far-left fringe, really anyone left of Charlie Baker is a woke terrorist to Pardoe. Add a pinch of "Every liberal is a traitor, also the insurrectionists morons of January 6th did nothing wrong" and it's a bit too spicy for me tbh.
Also I am unsure that it was the Faith McClowsky thing that sank him. It's true, Faith was allowed to write a short story for Shrapnell some time ago (most likely as a pacifier), but was then apparently ghosted by CGL. Giving that shitstain a platform in Shrapnell was a terrible idea and the exact opposite of what they should do, but Pardoe being fired does not seem to be related to this Faith cocksucker.

Wargamer Fritz is kinda weird. He'll have a video titled "How to use the Griffin" and the entire video will just be Fritz spitballing vague ideas without ever going "btw, this is how a Griffin is used effectively", it's mainly just him laying down very vague fundamentals of the mech and what niche it fills . . . but I still watch a lot of his videos, even knowing that I won't get the answer that I expect.

If you disagree with some or all of his stances, then don't buy Blue Dawn or subscribe to his blogposts. If your outlook on the world is purely informed by fiction that is a problem with you, and if you see others with that problem consider reminding them how stupid they look for internalizing works of fiction in that fashion. Might as well argue that nobody ever got it in their heads to commit mass shootings before DOOM (Hi, Texas Clocktower Shooter).

You clearly haven't paid much attention to American political speech these past 6 years, dude. Pardoe's stuff is boilerplate boomer conservative shit, and it's milder than a Caribbean winter compared to the shit the guys on the left have been saying.
Regardless, his opinions weren't new. He has always been a conservative, and he has been a long-term BattleTech author. None of this was new, he was writing sourcebooks back in the 80s. And no one thought any of his shit was a "dogwhistle" or whatever, he always did a good job of keeping his personal politics away from his contract work. The only thing that's changed was the Reddit Hate Machine set its sights on him as the Great Evil since BattleTech is now seen as the refugee for all the chuds who have abandoned 40K in disgust.

Frankly, I am almost completely unfamiliar with political debate in the US aside from kneejerk reactions, but Pardoe's stuff does read like something I'd find in a Tucker Carlson rant. I do pay him massive respect for his work on BT, which is (afaik) devoid of any political fringe lunacy, and that's sort of where this problem sits for me:
I assume CGL was uncomfortable with Pardoe's hottakes and decided that they want to end their cooperation with him. If so, I can understand where they are coming from.
But the guy made BT's setting what it is today, he put out a lot of good work and earned his spurs. If he's not bringing his hottakes to BT, CGL could (and maybe even: should) cut him some slack... but even if he doesn't bring his hottakes, they are still looming around in the background.
If this is some gaggle of libtard asshats elbowing their way into BT while getting rid of the grognards to reshape the setting in their own troontastic, putrid vision (like what we got with... literally every other IP in existence these days), than that obviously means that BT will be dead to me for the foreseeable future. But frankly, I think at this moment, CGL just doesn't want Pardoe's baggage. I genuinely think the Faith McClowsky thing is not the reason Pardoe was let go... unless CGL announces some deal with MClowsky, in which case, CGL and all their products can go die in a fire. Fuck them.

In my above post, I deleted a bit of text about how Pardoe has been a BT writer for almost as long as I've been alive. The guy has shaped BT over 4 decades and the unceremonious end of his contract can not be taken lightly.

CGL's cowardice was not fighting for one of their oldest contributors and instead deciding it was easier to just fire him. Yes, there are woke idiots in CGL (the company is headquartered in Seattle, after all) but clearly they needed an external push from above to get what they wanted.
And now Catalyst has completely surrendered any and all editorial independence to the mob. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I'm expecting the wokescolds to be emboldened by this and start screeching about more "problematic" contributors and/or elements of the setting. After all, where are all the trannies a thousand years from now, in a setting where cybernetics and cloned bodyparts are available?

That is a bit of a "he said, she said" situation, cause CGL says they made the decision on their own (albeit after talking to Fanatics about it, but Fanatics supposedly left the decision entirely up to CGL). Pardoe blames this on his stalker, but he isn't going to be neutral in this matter, so anything he has to say has to be taken with a grain of salt. Just like anything CGL has to say, of course, cause we all know how SJWs like to lie about their motivations.
I guess time will tell, we'll most likely see the rot take root very quickly. I was planning on making a huge order for some stuff that I am still missing from Wave 2, but with shit like this? Nah man. Unless this clears out, I guess that order can wait. It's not like I don't have enough plastic crack and there's no lack of 3D modells online.
Though one thing does come to my mind: Maybe I should place a huge order . . . for every BT novel and sourcebook written by Pardoe that I can find.
