Genshin Impact

God forbid they roll out a hangout event or two for these characters (or Lisa/Kaeya/Amber), those apparently take way too much effort despite how low effort they seem.
If they know what's good for them, they'll put out a third Noelle hangout.
Jokes aside, I have no fucking clue how they decide on who gets hangout quests. It's not popularity, or the national team would have 10 each, it's not to market the less popular 4 stars, because everyone has Noelle, but she has the most. I guess it's just personal preference from the devs.

Personally I'd love to see an old, shriveled up martial arts master like Master Roshi as a playable character. Of course that won't bring in the whale money, so it's never going to happen.

Finishing up the current event really drives home how much of this game's content is locked behind time limited events. I've really enjoyed this event, and it's clear a fair amount of time and effort went into it. Once the event time limit is up, it's gone for good, and new players go back to having no idea who Fischl or Xinyan are even if they pull them enough times to C6 them. Say a new player joins the day after this event ends. They missed the original Falling Stars event, they missed the Xinyan/Childe event, and they missed this event. They get one short character quest with Mona, but other than that they never meet any of these characters until they run into Kazuya on the way to Inazuma. God forbid they roll out a hangout event or two for these characters (or Lisa/Kaeya/Amber), those apparently take way too much effort despite how low effort they seem.

I get that I'm one of the few people who enjoys this game for its silly anime storyline. The whales only care about seeing big numbers in Abyss floor 12, and the whales are the ones keeping the lights on at Mihoyo. I get it. I guess I just don't see why they can't make big events like this permanently available as character quests after they end, just with stripped down rewards/no event shop.
My guess for limited archipelago is storage space we only have 3 Nations plus chasm, Dragonspine and Enkanomiya out of 8 including khaenriah the game is gonna get very storage intensive for a lot of people if it hasn't already so it makes sense to keep some regions as a yearly event

As for the fallen stars and other lore intensive events like the recent Kazuha Scara one they have no excuse in my eyes

Thankfully watching MoB means i can experience those events i missed when I arrived on the scene at the very tail end of last years Golden Apple Archipelago and the beginning of Inazuma

Call me crybaby but i really disliked the current GAA event. The original arquipelago was a joy to explore and even the super hidden sidequest stuff was fun to solve, like the musical note island with water levels but the current event is extremely domain and puzzle focused while forcing you to retread random places over and over.

>Kazuha

I love kazuha so much i got his C2 but this was a really bland looking domain with a rather boring story. The family drama is interesting but kaz himself admits this was a long time ago and he doesnt care at all. They keep building this lore about Kazuha's past when it doesnt really matter at this point. Puzzle design and difficulty was pretty tight at least.

The island was awful to explore tho. Literally go to the bonsai, teleport, circle the full island, go bonsai, do again in other mode. If you forget which variation you already explored then you fucked up, better watch a guide.

>Xinian

She wants to be hardcore but her parents wont let her, okaaaay boomers. Disliked at first, but on hindsight it has the best pacing of all islands, being rather simple and only 2 variations. The domain is the only one that wants you to replay it but it's fast enough.

>Fish

Fisch has dementia and everyone enables that shit because its cute except it's fucking not. If fish was a real person, she would be a retarded tiktok teenager who identifies as a minecraft youtuber. She should be bullied into common sense, not "accept she is both" like a bad persona moment.

The domain? AWFUL. Felt like i was bruteforcing than actually solving anything.

The island? DOUBLE AWFUL. If i have to listen to another bird talk about dragons or shinies i'm gonna uninstall.

>Mona

Muh gift is muh curse. This doesnt show anything new or evolve mona in any way beyond fake inspirational stuff like "ima find my own destiny".

Domain and island has the be the worst i ever seen in this game. Made me ragequit for a bit and use a guide, killing any chance of me having fun. At least it looked pretty.

>quests

The fatui quest was cute and the tanuki quest was fast at least but the other ones were cancer. Having to sail to the most random invisible islands and follow these notes for half an hour was painful.

Probably late to the game mentioning this, I'm sure several people have already sperged out about it ad nauseam, but how many people here would be interested in seeing some more masculine looking playable characters. I know, we already have Itto but, I'm sure many other people can relate, I found his design kinda disappointing.

He looked perfectly fine in the character and wish art, but in the actual game dude just looks like some Andy Milonakis dude who's really 40 but looks 20, with some kinda growth hormone disorder. Or like when a character who's normally massive is downsized to be playable, and has their hitboxes all fucked with, like in Garry's Mod. He also kinda had same face to me. I'd really like to see a proper playable masculine character.

And for those who will say, "It doesn't fit the art style" Wrong, just look at the Fatui Hammerman and Boxers. Yes, I know they're massive, so they cannot be playable. I get that. But, I really hope they make a character who's actually mature and muscular looking. Sort of an inbetween from Itto and the Big Fatuis.

They probably never will though, because so I've heard that masculine, muscular characters don't sell very well in Eastern Markets. Everyone just wants to see more femboys, twinks, and lolis (I was kinda annoyed when I saw the Sumeru Archon was just going to be another child character, she's also pale as fuck like what the hell, I was hoping for an Indian looking adult lady with the Eula bodyshape)

Also, while the game never says Itto's age and most people asusme he's mid 20s, it's very possible he is just a really tall teenager since Sayu knows him since he was smaller.

I dont need ultra large dudes but it would be nice to have a non-twink male for once. Most gacha games have a token older or bulky dude but genshin has nothing. Hell, there isnt a single male with facial hair. Varka is hyped as this badass veteran favonius knight but if he's playable then he'll probably look young as Diluc.

Women could also use a different model or at least some age variety. It's gonna be really """"funny"""" when Alice finally appears and she looks 20 at best yet Mona keeps calling her an "old hag".

Give us our sexy bear men Mihoyo! We're tired of Loli's, scantily clad nymphos lusting after us and waifish bros

Mihoyo has the sexy bear and wolf furries planned for ZZZ (zenless zone zero), genshin will only ever get anime teens with dog or fox ears.

ZZZ also seems to have completely different models sizes and types for every character so if you want a token X type of character, that one has more chance.

The only things I can actually remember about this years GAA is Kazuha’s Domains giving me a headache, and joking that one of the Ravens trying to hit on Mona - when that entire island is more or less based on Fischl’s imagination - was the writings implying she was in the closet.

If they plan ti bring the GAA back yearly, then they really need to focus in on what story they actually want to tell there. Sure, the cast played well off each other, but I legitimately preferred the Bottom of the Chasm event with Yelan to this

The most recent web event is completely fucking broken for me, first the objectives didn't load, then the domain objective never counted no matter how many domains I've completed, then I couldn't press any of the answers for some reason(it only happened once though), and now I can't even unlock the next level, the button just does nothing. Anyone else having issues with it?

Hey guys. Flashgitz of all people did sponsored video for genshin. There's even a redemption code in comments.
The code is XTNDKTEBWA59 which was already posted here about 2 weeks ago.

There's a web event called Teyvat Interview going on right now, and I was pretty surprised to find absolutely no discussion of it anywhere. What you do is make posts or comments on hoyolab.com with the event's hashtag, and you get candies. What do you do with these candies?

Well you can redeem them for in-game stuff...if you're fast enough.
1659301919844.png
See how each item has a daily inventory? They only give out 1000 of each item every day, and it's on a first come first served basis. If you want your 60 primogems, you have to be one of the first 1000 people to click as soon as it restocks. All items are completely gone within 5 seconds. Also, it refreshes at 7 PM in China, so it's the middle of the night or very early morning if you're in the western hemisphere.

Or, you can spend your candies on a raffle, where you can win such fun prizes as "forum avatar frame (30 days)" or "less candy than you put in for the drawing" or even "literally nothing!"
1659302929886.png1659302944547.png1659302895134.png

If you're extremely lucky in the raffle, they also give out 500 sets of 60 primogems and 1 set of 1000 primogems each day.
Overall, the vast majority of people playing this event will win absolutely nothing at all. Have fun!

Managed to win my 3rd 50/50 in a row and pick up Yoimiya, I don't think I will be pulling for a while. So many resources the last few months

My account was hacked and I just got it back today (took about a month)
No im not retarded and tried to use some third party top up website. The only explanation I can think of is that it was a data breach from another website that I used the same login and pw from (you can check your own credentials on haveibeenpwned.com). So yeah I am still a degree of retarded for needing to have my genshin account hacked to actually start using different passwords on my important accounts and enabling 2fa on everything
Anyway just glad to have my account back. I believe it was hacked and sold off, whoever was using my account had no idea what they were doing... also they enabled my Bennets C6 which is the real tragedy here

I'm pretty sure that's not a "closeted gay message" thing and more just an "ask-me-for-directions Arnold" thing. There's a whole ass civilization of the raven bastards, and it's kinda funny how they made them static statues instead of making bird NPCS which would be the obvious choice as they HAVE models of birds and the event opens with you meeting a fucking talking squirrel and a boat, that weirdly are NOT created by the illusion but just a fucking talking squirrel and boat apparently.

It's really strange how the first 2 event islands are just like projections of past memories and regrets and shit (save for the talking plant) but then the latter 2 are full on something completely different on top of the past echoes stuff with fischl's being a manifestation of the raven kingdom into reality and mona's being literally just the ruins that used to be on the mountian that got tossed out of mondstat at varying levels of erosion to the point there's actually implied to be time travel stuff that possibly only affects the world within the illusion. ...Unless they do a follow up timed event on dragonspine where it gets revealed that it WASN'T only in the illusion that the guy got saved ad the fact that the notes are found on the ruined island with nothing but some stuff from the first GAA instead of the illusion past island. They may very well pull some shit like how the one kid's dad on dragonspine was implied dead till he came back after the fake albedo event with amnesia.

In terms of content there's a lot less obvious"woah do thing here"quests around this time onthe archipelligo as well as vestigal or non-functional stuff left over from the last visit. One thing I gotta say are pretty strong despite being simple "go here to pick up thing or look at cutscene" type ventures are the character lore focused sidequests. I mentioned the weird time travel one on mona's island but there's alot more than just that. There's a sidequest involving the boat that's kinda sad and ties into lore shit involving the fucking serai island stuff where you find out more about his past, and how he used to be the boat that got fucking torn apart and flung there by the serai island incident. It is genuinely gonna be weird when people can't see the loreshit shown in this like what happened with the other events including the original archipelago. With how much effort was put into this I was surprised at the small oversights of the boat that had a sidequest tied to it in the original one not being recognized somehow.

Might as well pull some shit like how the one kid's dad on dragonspine was implied dead till he came back after the fake albedo event with amnesia.
Pretty sure the implication in the fake Albedo event is that Subject 1 was spared by Albedo and given a life as the father the kid lost thus giving Subject 1 what he always wanted
A life/purpose
This is implied by albedos garden metaphor with him being the gardener and Subject 1 being the Sunsettia

So yeah the kids dad is still dead he just has a replacement now and Subject 1 has a purpose now

I thought that it was gonna do a twist like that like that initially but the thing is the dad isn't acting suspicious and really does just seem to have beenjust found fucking nearly dead with amnesia and seems to slowly be getting his memory back by spending time with his son like a lot of stories of similar shit. He's no acting like something non-human turned into a human, and the kid hasn't been pulled into the mountains and murdered, so I'm pretty sure it's just a "we found him " situation.
I do wonder though, is there a quest for finding him for the people that missed that event, or does he just show up sometime after you complete the quest hunting for the kid's dad? Too lazy to make a fucking second account just to grind through everything to find out.

People are overthinking the bird simping mona. There is also a bird that stands near a pit and if you aproach him he goes "Please dont kill yourself, your life has value and we love you!" (which is hilarious) and i dont think Fish has suicidal thoughts, at least not implied.

What do you mean subject 1 was spared by albedo? There were 3 albedos on that event.

Subject 1: This the real Albedo, the first one created by Gold and considered a perfect synthetic human.

Subject 2: The second albedo, was an experiment. He was considered a failure and was devoured by the dragonspine dragon (durian) but somehow was resurrected viablood dragon magic. We never see this albedo ingame but he was the one who stole Albedo's notes and he is still out there.

Subject 3: The third Albedo, created by the second albedo using a mutated wooperflower. This is the one who tried to kill the kid and wanted to kill the real albedo too.

You also missed what Albedo meant with the gardener metaphor. He's obviously talking about Gold/Rhinedotir, but also himself since subject 2 and 3 see Albedo as his "creator" that needs to die in order for them to "feel real".

Albedo: It's as if there were three identical roses in a garden. Only one of the three was a fine specimen, while the other two were defective specimens that bore poisonous thorns. In all the world, only the gardener (gold to albedo, albedo 2+3) who tended to them could tell which was the good specimen. (...) If the inferior specimens wanted to conceal the fact of their worthlessness, they would have to take the gardener out of the picture using their poisonous thorns.

I dont know if the father is actually the flowerbedo turned good but i think it's intentionally vague. I cant blame you or anybody for getting confused since the plot is only explained during the final cutscene and it sounds like albedo is embelishing for drama. Even online i see that most people never realized there were 3 albedos.

Yes and no watch the scene where Albedo tells the traveler about the Subjects and the Whopperflower

Subject one was a failure he is the one that made subject 3 the whopperflower and we do see him in the cutscene that has Albedo going to "kill him" its implied by the Fathers return and Albedos sunsettia metaphor that he and Subject 1 came to an agreement

Subject 1 only wanted to kill albedo so he could have a life by taking his and by giving S1 a new life as the kids father this fulfils that need and he wouldn't feel a need to kill anymore

Subject 2 is the perfect one our Albedo

As for the garden metaphor im talking about the last conversation with the traveler and Paimon about the sunsettias Albedo is the new gardener to Subject 1 "I don't think being a gardener is so bad"

Ill go rewatch the scenes in question and quote them in an edit just to be sure

Edit:
At Timestamp 1:25:25
You can see both Subject 2 aka Albedo and Subject one in this cutscene S1 is on the Mountain looking down at Albedo
And in this cutscene he says S1's goal is to kill Albedo and the Traveler and take Albedos life for his own in order to just have a normal life
"I would wait for the right moment then dispose of you and the traveler, the sole person to have known your secret, and then I could finally experience the joy of being brought into the world"

Timestamp 1:29:05
Ok here is where the confusion lies Albedo refers to himself as S1 because in the chronology of the story he hadn't yet realized he wasn't the first

"unbeknownst to subject 1 the alchemist had tried the same experiment many times before he had come into being some of the subjects had been discarded, but had not died"

He then talks about Subject 2 being swallowed by durin and revived in the present
S2 then saw Albedo and friends and grew jealous of his younger brothers life among humans
"This was what S2 wanted now all that S2 desired was to replace S1 and take the joy of existence for himself"
S2 then stole the books and made himself look like Albedo then created S3 the whopperflower
S2 wanted Albedo to be distracted by S3 having him kill S3 and then drop his guard to be killed by S2 then S2 would become Albedo and live Albedos life (assumedly peacefully)

Timestamp 1:47:25
Albedo: they're just sunsettias. I think you are only so attached to them because you don't have much fruit in your possession (translation S2 is only a violent monster because he lacked a normal life of his own)
"When someone's pockets are full and their spirit is fulfilled l, they don't easily fall prey to this kind of yearning" (I took pity on and gave S2 a life as that kids dead dad)

So the Implication is not that Flowerbedo turned good no he is dead its that S2 turned good because Albedo gave him what he always wanted

A normal life

I dont understand why you're telling me to look it up when i just did it. I literally quoted Albedo's own words from the event and he clearly explains which subject is which.

Albedo: A great alchemist once created Subject One. Subject One was her proudest achievement, and successfully blended into human society. No one ever would have thought that this friend of theirs was in fact a synthetic human.

Subject 1 = Albedo

Albedo: However, unbeknownst to Subject One, the alchemist had tried the same experiment many times before he had come into being. Some of the rejects from failed experiments had been discarded, but had not died. Subject Two was one such failed experiment. He was swallowed by a great dragon that came to rest upon a snowswept mountain. Many years later, he was resurrected by the dragon's mysterious power.

-Now, all that Subject Two desired was to replace Subject One and take the joy of his existence for himself.
-Subject Two began to unfold his plan. He stole Subject One's books and notes and studied all that Subject One had learned from the alchemist.
-And so, not only did Subject Two transform his own appearance to perfectly match that of Subject One, he also created a third entity: Subject Three.
-But Subject Two wanted to become a perfected human. So, he erased the mark on both his and Subject Three's necks, for these marks were symbols of imperfection.

Please, can you explain to me how Subject 2 is the real albedo? Albedo didnt plan to replace another albedo. Albedo didnt steal his own notes. Albedo didnt create the flower. Albedo didnt erase his neck mark for deeming it an imperfection. Subject 2 cannot be the real albedo.

Subject 2 is a completely different character and he never meets albedo during the event, i have no idea why you think he agreed to let Albedo turn him into the kid's father, when the cutscene and Albedo imply he is still out there ("Subject Two did not succeed. But you can never let your guard down on Dragonspine.") Its theorized that the albedo we see coming from the cave was subject 2 (the one who says "Humans only care about things that are good").

Besides, leakers (grain of salt as usual) said there is more albedo lore incoming and that Subject 2 name is Dorian so he's bound to come back as a threat again.

i edited with my findings of reviewing the material I referred to Albedo as S2 because chronologically he would be S2 as The real "S2 fake albedo" came first

It was my confusion based on how Albedo told his story and my autism of relabeling them in the correct chronological order my bad

As for the rest of your comment i think my edit will cover that
