Shadowrun was always my favourite made up universe for losers. It seemed to have mostly flown under the radar for this type of soft histrionic nerd which is surprising given the anarchist and transhumanist themes. I havent checked it out in years so its probably infected with all kinds of faggotry now. I would have hoped it was actually just too subversive and anti-corporate to ever really push on a globohomo audience without too much cognitive dissonance seeping through.

On the surface, sure, It appears like it should be tailor made for every fake anarchist cyberpunk techno-tranny on twitter, and the themes of racial diversity and body modification are impossible to ignore (and maybe this is just optimistic) but I always thought the bigger overarching theme is that corporate technocracy has made the world an objectively shitty, oppressive place and the only way to address the rampant class inequality is to actually fight back. Not through fellating our billionaire-overlords, and whining on twitter about how badly orcs are being treated, but by actually going out, subverting technology, embracing spirituality and using those tools to directly damage corporate bottom line while personally benefitting. Shadowrun and Cyberpunk in general was so eerily prescient on a lot of the worst things that happened to society, it seems like actually promoting it too heavily might open too many people's eyes to just how dystopian the world really is.
So-called "antifa" doesn't see anything whatsoever wrong with that and to them cyberpunk is "muh cool LED clothes."

again, optimistic, but I just dislike admitting that there are so many people who could deepdive on all of those particular themes and think "that's a world I want to live in". Surely anybody who can make it past the neon would start questioning the current state of digital age propaganda and the insidiousness of capitalist interests taking over politics, and how technology is slowly eroding our ability to connect with other living beings on anything other than a superficial level, and if they weren't completely retarded, they might even start to think Antifa were part of the problem.
