This here is why this thread frustrates the hell out of me, it’s awful watching this kid be brought up to be a weird dress up doll for his mother (& other people ). Piggy presents a story about a “different” kid, that she allows him to “just be himself”, as if he’s making all sorts of career moves, has tons of friends, even “his own drag haus with other drag kids”, he’s just the happiest, freest kid ever.
Then of course you peel back the page just a bit to see a kid who seems so restricted. He doesn’t appear to ever have any friends his own age (not even a cousin, a kid they grew up with, etc). No one has ever seen any evidence of his “drag house for kids”— no photo shoots, tea parties, picnic, performance, dance off, nothing. Never mentions a best friend, meet-ups/clubs for homeschooled kids, nope he’s a 15 year old boy who just LOVES only hanging out with his Norma Bates mother.
Whatever creativity or talents Desmond has have been completely obfuscated by this ridiculous image he’s been bonsai’d into. IMO a person needs “me time” on their own to develop any kind of artistic talents, even if their talent isn’t especially strong. We all wish that, but we also need to be realistic. He's been groomed and raised in the worse possible environment and he's never gonna be a normal person. Abused kids never are. The ones who don't overdose and die do porn or prostitution. Sure, someone could just take over Desmond and raise him properly, but his formative years are already fucked and once he's on his own as an adult, he might end up on a bad path.

Young kids need to be put in adult situations to appeal the adults who want to see them in those situations. He wrote it from the point of view of a creeper checking out the girls. Naturally, people didn't pick up on the irony and took it literally and made it a #1 hit around the world.

Sorry, I don't remember exact thread? I think it was in the gunt forum, perhaps the Flamenco thread or maybe Council of Evil? Those have been the ones I've been reading the most recently, so I'm guessing it is in there somewhere. It was one of those red warnings inserted into the post by a mod and I assumed a pic was deleted. Not sure if Null has posted it on a rules list yet. If I find it I will send it along. Or maybe message a mod, they should know?
