Why would they step all over their "we passed the biggest climate change bill in history" PR victory lap with this raid? Everyone knows it was dumb, but it's an accomplishment that had a chance to at least stem the pre-midterm bleeding a little, if only in terms of morale. God. What is going on?

The left hand isn’t talking to the other left hand.

The same reason that my office hasn't been able do potlucks or recreational stuff for several years, a toxic combination of incompetence/laziness and activist screaming at the people who were putting in effort.

One of the nicest and most productive ladies I know was reduced to tears because she volunteered to bring chili and got both screamed at plus reported to HR for 'racist cultural appropriation and creating a hostile environment' by some 'Hispanic' newbie who insisted Whites stole chili. Our decades+ office veteran took an early retirement shortly after, and we lost one of our most productive employees. The person that reported her had been here less than 5 months, departed less than a year after and was a lazy worker that constantly caused problems.
I have a friend who had the same thing happen. She works at this large, mixed medical clinic. Lab, social outreach, home care, mental health, physio, that shit.

It was her turn to do the yearly staff party organizing, in 2017 IIRC. We have a couple of great taco places in town, so she decide to have a "Taco Night" with them catering, and have tequila and corona and that sort of shit.

She put the idea forward, and people flipped out. Hundreds of angry arguments in email chains going on between various staffers. They ended up cancelling the staff party, and haven't had one since.
Any chances of this working? DeSantis is sitting pretty as a very popular governor and he is still quite young, while Trump still holds a seizeble hold on the republican vote that would split if he wasn't in the ticket.

Even if Trumps loses in 2024 again due people's disdain of his character, concerning the actual polices of the democrats and the general ill will people have against the more liberal administration, wouldn't in this case Desantis swoop in Regan stily and win in a landslide?

I know there is a lot of if and buts, and we can't garantee that Desantis will remain popular for the years to come, but wouldn't be smart to just wait?

but if Desantis primary Trump, will he have the full support of the base to go against a weak Dem?
Desantis WOULD have the support of the base. If he did primary Trump (which he's not going to), Trump would back him completely.
Nancy Pelosi is proof of why the Bible banned female political leaders.

She started this retardation with the 2018 impeachment out of nowhere.
I'm not normally conspiracy minded, but I think she was involved in and fully aware of the slow start of Covid at that exact time, and they needed to try to keep the Trump administration and public distracted. Why else did she say she needed Bolton's testimony, then him fighting having to comply take too long, and then sitting on the articles of impeachment for a month? They needed Covid to start spreading and take hold. Makes her ripping up the SOTUA kind of sinister.

That might be too tinfoil hat for most people, but I suspect in this case, it's true.

This:
The left hand isn’t talking to the other left hand.

Keep in mind the Dem civil war, the bill that passed is primarily a win for the progs due to them successfully winning a PR victory for its branding. Establishment would have preferred to keep that quiet and use it to mollify the Progs, instead it became a victory for them, and so the Establishment tried to create their own PR victory.

Now nobody is happy.

To be fair, I think Frederick Douglass would be arguing for slavery to still be a thing if he knew his people would choose to become the worst stereotypes of the slaveowners. It can't be overstated how desperate American blacks were at that time to disprove through word and deed what people said and thought about them. And if you look at the combat records of any of their volunteer units in the Civil War, they most definitely did so.
IIRC, Douglass made an excellent point that American blacks, circa 1865, had very little in common with Africans and shipping them back would not end well for anyone.

Honestly, I think things would've worked out if we hadn't gotten hit with LBJ's Great Society and forced desegregation. Sometimes, things have to be resolved over generations, and you can't force them along any faster.

Back on topic, the FBI raid is most certainly desperation. Stinks of it. The 'it's afraid!' meme, writ large. Next few months are going to be interesting, indeed.

The civil rights movement was the result of the failure of reconstruction.

Personally we shouldve sent the freed slaves to their own state somewhere down in south america woulda been good.

Lets not forget that that freaky general literally stopped her from stealing the Nuclear Football.

Not "keeping Trump from getting it." Stealing it for herself.

What possible reason could Pelosi have for wanting the ability to launch Nuclear strikes that would be immediately blamed on Trump? Get us into WW3? Frame Trump for a war crime? Target one of Trump's rallies? Sell it to China?

The fact that the entire political apparatus didn't stop outright when that information came out and pause until Pelosi was in a jail cell pending further investigation is evidence enough that our government is completely dead in the water. We are literally living on borrowed time, until the Inertia of our system runs out and we collapse in a spectacular fashion.

"I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for 200 years."

My stance remains, Blacks did not get here by their own actions, though they sure as shit are the reason they stay where they are.
You're right, but even so, its by their own choices they've decided to stay on the Democrat plantations. He'd be appalled by their actions.

So whats your take on the southern strategy/realignment?

I keep thinking its interesting how we are having another realignment with both parties
The realignment is one that's been going on for fifty years now, it's just coming to a head and embracing its final identity.

Historically the party of urban educated professionals were Republicans. Democrats were the party of the rural/suburban working class. Then, in the 1960's, the Baby Boomer generation of urban educated professionals swapped from their historical party to Democrats because of figures like MLK/JFK and because they were generally mad at their dad and voting for the hick party was an act of rebellion.

So you enter the 1970's (especially post-Watergate, when these Boomers started mass entry into political office) with two parties under the control of over-educated city bois. Where does the rural working class go, now that they've been left politically homeless? They take over the party that doesn't actively shit on their social beliefs in a religious revival, which turned into the Reagan Revolution. Years pass. Republicans prove to be a disappointment both socially and economically. Manufacturing continues to be offshored. Roe vs. Wade is still on the books. They gain brief victories on cultural issues from time to time, but their underlying needs continue to be ignored. This reaches a head after the 2012 election. They seek an outside firebrand, someone willing to upend the whole system and work in their interests, and of all places, find that character in a New York real estate mogul and occasional reality TV star.

And now, in response to Trump, the Democrat party goes full mask off and embraces its identity as the party of elites. They'd been unofficially that for a long time, but urbane sensibilities were so offended by Trump being president that they couldn't help but express their disdain for anyone who'd vote for him. And it was a classist disdain at the end of the day. Mocking Trumpsters for being uneducated. Mocking them for eating boring white ppl food. Mocking them for liking guns and the outdoors. Mocking them for driving old clunkers instead of trendy, expensive electric cars. They could at least buy a plug-in hybrid, don't they know the world is ending?

The swap was done. Democrats had embraced being the party of elites, the RINOs flocked to them rather than be associated with Trump, and now you have a political scene where Republicans are being pulled into a nationalist worker's party sort of agenda.

This isn't even the first time this kind of social shift happened. There was a lot of disillusionment and soul-searching by Democrats after the Civil War, and it followed the same broad pattern:
A rural religious revival (the 3rd great awakening in the 1870's-1880's, the Reagan Revolution of the 1980's-1990's) fails to address the underlying economic concerns of its participants (and elects a lot of charlatan leaders besides), until frustration forces them to pick a rogue outsider (who teeters on being a demagogue) to drastically re-shape the party platform and attitude (William Jennings Bryan, Trump).

Using the historical parallels, Bryan may never have actually made it to the Oval Office, but he was instrumental in changing Democrat rhetoric at the time and fostered so much concern among the urban elites that they had to come up with their own version of a wokers' party to push enough labor reforms to keep Democrats from gaining ground (these would be the reforms of the OG Progressives, epitomized by Teddy Roosevelt).

It's worth pointing out that in Senator Armstrong's world (MGS) - there was a literal illuminati organization (The Patriots) that basically controlled the entire world from the shadows - hence his view on "individualism" likely being shaped from the events of MGS games prior.
What do you think the Deep State/Administrative State/Military Industrial Complex is?

It's a somehow more faggoty version of The Patriots, just instead of The Characters from Metal Gear Solid 3..we have Joe Biden, Nancy, Mitch, Hillary..and the WEF.

Edit : Metal Gear Solid 2 was the best Mainline Series because Kojima accidently tripped over something relevant to say in all of his "MUH WAR FOR PROFIT" Sperging.
