Nitpick, but I think in Virginia a conservator just controls your financial affairs, while a guardian gets to actually control you. The terms are different in some other states:

So if we hear that Chris has been assigned a conservator, the conservator can't make him *do* anything, Chris just loses control of his finances. Chris absolutely needs a conservator.

First off, you're doing God's work, because tard wrangling ain't easy.

Second, not to powerlevel you or anything, but I suspect you've had some specific tard wrangling training, because you seem to have worked at some of the more restrictive tard homes. They're not all as regimented as you describe, though I've also seen some that are a LOT worse. Three guesses which ones Chris would be sent to.

Restrictions: I have worked both restrictive and non. I just figured I'd go with restrictive, as part of me hopes that's where Chris ends up.

I wish people would stop pushing this. Chris didn't "perform an exorcism" at the hospital, he merely saw crazy or seizures in patients and thought those people were possessed by demons from what is written in the bible.

See, I know taking Chris at his word alone is a dumb move, but I was under the impression it was him trying to do the exorcism that was what led to him having to be restrained and ultimately kicked out of Western State on account of interfering with other patients?

Maybe I don't have the known facts fully defined about that particular incident but at the very least we have the mugshot of Chris getting rebooked where he looks absolutely miserable, so the end of his stay at Western State didn't end on a high note, whatever happened.

Based on an earlier letter, we surmised Chris threw a tantrum the day before he left the hospital when he found out he was going back to jail, and that’s why he was restrained and that’s why he looked so upset in the picture. We now know he thought he was going to a group home, but had to leave the hospital because they needed the bed. Presumably, they weren’t able to place him in a home.

Chris didn’t say he tried to perform an exorcism. He said the staff was against the idea. This complaint is part of a list of complaints which includes the restraint incident. They aren’t necessarily connected at all.

What happens if the facility determines that Chris is incompatible with their treatment options? What behaviors might lead to this?

Ex: Chris is physically abusive to a wrangler. I know that wranglers are trained to handle this and almost expect it, particularly with more difficult autism cases. However, if it happens consistently, can Chris be sent to a more secure facility? Back to jail? How many times would it have to happen, to your best estimate? What if he is abusive to other tards? What if the abuse is sexual? Etc.

Basically, what are the consequences Chris can reasonably face for tarding out too hard, and what are the limits that he can be reasonably expected to cross?

Honestly, it depends on the facility. As you said, we have training to deal with that kind of stuff, but of course, we all have limits. Some facilities have isolation areas where those who misbehave are sent (picture a sterile room with very little in terms of decorations, furniture, and access to the outside world) to cool down, and where they can get one on one (or just more due to staffing shortages) attention. Depending on the facility as well, they could see about medicating him to an extent if he is a threat to himself or others. If they are deemed too dangerous in one of those facilities though, they usually just wind back up in a state institution like Western State.

Its also possible that he gets put in a less restrictive facility, which would mean that restrictions include things like losing privileges. As much as I hate to say it, staff would also probably start to single him out and assign him worse chores, give him slightly less food, and be less willing to work with him (all things I have seen), all while trying to get the court to send him to another, more restrictive facility.

As far as limits he can cross, property destruction, assaulting staff or residents, harassing residents, and self harm are the big ones. Depending on the facility, non-compliance is another big one, since not taking meds or doing what you are tasked with doing can disrupt the order of the facility. Those are the main ones I would see Chris having issues with. There are others, but I kinda doubt Chris would go those routes (since I haven't seen much evidence of drug use by Chris).

While Chris getting off relatively light is extremely unjust (I think what Chris did is considered rape) it is also the funniest outcome possible.
