Brown/blackwashing Miku is super common, but brownwashing a classic painting, and making it a tad uglier? Were they allergic to white chicks that day?
And like @Starbuxxx said, Blobby is just sitting there and contributing nothing. That’s what he does in a decent fraction of these comics, just gets shoehorned in to remind you what comic you’re reading.
I always found these types of reactions to be ridiculous. Whenever you take an art class, often times the teacher tries to encourage students to study realism (and other styles or movements) in order to have a general understanding of certain fundamentals. Form, composition, color theory, lighting, anatomy, so on. Obviously there are plenty of cartoonists, animators and manga artists who have created some very successful properties of their own, and often break the rules. Though a lot of young artists fail to realize that they’re putting the cart before the horse, as they try to replicate a certain anime or cartoon style, yet still don’t have a strong foundation of their own.
