If Chris took some kind of plea deal, he will likely show up on the sex offender registry in the short term. While it's possible that Chris' lawyer could have got him a deal pleading to charges that wouldn't get him on the registry, that sounds to me like a prosecutor/judge not doing their job. Chris is the type of person the registry is made for, I just can't see him not getting the scarlet letter, as that seems to be the bare minimum of punishment.

Seeing as his incest charge was going in front of the GJ, there really isn't a lesser charge that's related to Incest that doesn't carry being registered (from the VA offender list).

If the deal is for deferred disposition, to the best of my knowledge he will not have to register as a sex offender, even if the crime warrants it, because his status will not have been decided yet. Deferred disposition basically freezes the proceedings at the very end to right before the judge would pass a sentence.

If, on the other hand, he is only given a suspended sentence, then he has been convicted and would have to register if so required for the crime.

I think it's safe to say that vine will update if chris' custody status changes. However, unless his next stop is another Jail or DOC facility, it won't say where.

The thing to watch for is what the new status is. If it's "Another Facility" then that means he is still in custody, just not at the jail, and probably in medical care. This is what happened when he was sent to WSH.

If it says "Released", that means he is no longer in custody, and he could be anywhere. A medical facility (if he received civil commitment -- the key word being "civil" rather than "criminal"), a tard home, 14BC, a homeless shelter, on the street, etc. It just means that he is no longer in the custody of the justice system. (but almost certainly still restricted by probation).

If it says "Released" but we don't hear from him, then he is either in a tard home with strict rules (more likely), or he has received civil commitment and is in a mental hospital.

in virginia that means it's an attorney review date which is extremely confusing to me. If he was released on probation it supposedly would say "review progress". As per google;

@Pointless Sperg can you make sense of this, is this a "bumfuck VA court" thing, or is did chris tell heilberg to fuck off/vice versa? these lawyers responses make no sense in context

I believe "REVIEW" can mean a number of things, not just an attorney review. I am not familiar enough with Virginia to give you a definitive answer.

so is chris out? kengles said something about chris is being released into a group home?
kegiles is a fagot that doesn't know jack shit besides boiling burgers. Chris could be still sleeping in his cell right now, in the back a sheriff's car on his way to the downtown police station to be tried in the morning, or on his way to a Tard/group home. Or already there and the system has yet to update on it since it's almost midnight. This whole situation as of this moment? It's a real blind men and the elephant situation. Everyone's groping around and piecing together only a vague idea of what the reality of the situation is.

Kengle seems more sure now.

Not just that but a history of making up complex fictions that he "merges" into reality. Even if almost everyone agrees he almost certainly did it. It still remains true that this could entirely just be a chris fantasy .
There is certainly reasonable doubt
Plus, a rape kit test would have been conducted (it might be SOP in such a situation, or even be mandatory) but that and any other pertinent initial evidence seems to have come up inconclusive. He was offered bail, which he only blew by throwing a tantrum. This would, I'd guess, certainly not have been the case if any sort of conclusive material evidence had turned up in Barb's mecial examination.

I have been lurking thru the signup pause and always found it unreal how many people deluded themselves into this case being in any way watertight, and Chris' fate a foregone conclusion. There cannot have been material evidence, and generally no significant amount of evidence of any sort - or the entire case would have proceeded much, much differently right from the start.
Up to now, it was really little other than assessing the evidence and especially the accused.

Chris was never treated as the high-risk suspect he would have been, if there was anything to back up his tale that had as much as a so-so chance to hold up in court. All they had to go by was his gleeful admissions - at least partially unprompted, mostly unpressed, and rich in lurid detail that does ring true if you know how he mixes fact, fantasy, and sex-related terminology he does not understand but simply snapped up whereever an autist growing up with right-of-center ultra-boomer parents - one of which with major issues of her own - in some godforsaken shithole in Incest County snaps such things up.
The Hooker narrative was so much 1950s amateur porn vibes, glossed over with a thin veneer of Internet modernism, that I wanted to wash my eyes with aqua regia. Like lowest-grade fanfic by some 12yo mouth-breating basement-dwelling incel ecchi nerd tard. The Barb narrative was worse.

So: At first they can't have had anything substantial - only hearsay, circumstantial, and barely-if-at-all-admissable stuff to go with. As they by and by discovered about Chris' unique personality however, the prosecution couldn't but be sure there was something to it. It's all very weak evidence still - there may technically not be one single shred of evidence, just inference and conjecture -, but everything is too coherent to not go the full path of the law and resolve this thoroughly (or at least, as far as one can before getting too exhausted by yet another sperg-out, tantrum, or Message from God).

And it is important to remember that the US legal system is subject of a lot of criticism who a fucking lot of reasons, but while some is certainly well justified and demonstrably correct, there is one thing the US legal system cannot be faulted for in any way:
Probably nowhere else in history has been amassed so much experience in handling the most grotesque and unusual breaches of the law by the book, while keeping it lowkey and maintaining a straight face throughout (provided it does not involve people like Epstein or Depp/Heard who are filthy rich and/or publicly famous; then all suddenly goes to pieces).

I do think he's probably getting out. Anyone here with singing skills?

---

Bye, bye, Barbie, it's been a sweet love, yeah yeah
Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take it so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm without blame
But, if I stay here with you, Barb
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm free as a tard now
And this tard you'll never change!

If Chris is fully released and unable to legally go back to the hoard house then I have no idea what the fuck he is going to do. I genuinely think he still believes if he gets out of prison things will go back exactly the way they were before. Him realizing the world that allowed him to be grounded and feed into his delusions and bullshit is gone will cause an internal meltdown worst than any continued stint in jail ever could.

i imagine if chris is set free he will make sure we all know about it. he is not the best at laying low and the second he has access to the internet you know hes gonna be checking everything he can and working on a plan to get back to his room and get his stuff. ideally however instead of just sending chris out into the wild where the chances of him just never showing up for court are high they are gonna just place him in a home or a mental ward or some shit until its his turn to speak at the trial.

this is all pure speculation but it could be that chris has not been present at his own trial this whole time due to his tendency to freak out so the case was presented without him and it was decided to make arrangements to make chris show up in court this time. but im guessing only time will tell what becomes of chris now. either he gets set free and we hear from him almost instantly or they keep him locked up somewhere till next court date where he has the chance to defend himself. either way i dont think chris is getting prison time at this point he has been locked up long enough that i could see them just letting him off with a massive fine and maybe mandatory therapy or some shit.

Personally, I think he's been sent to long term to a halfway home or whatever, which is going to quickly turn into hell for Chris because he'll be expected to do basic shit like cleaning up after himself. It's even worse than jail since he'll accuse the staff of making it like Auschwitz for Autistics (Autism-schwitz?) because he has to do chores and behave like a normal human being would. And you can forget a toy horde.
I think this is probably worse than jail for things that you described, in addition to Chris most likely being at the worst possible tard containment unit. Chris already made quite an impression on Western and that history probably followed him if he's not at Western.

The biggest thing is Chris and his ego, lined up next to Paul The Masturbator, Jimmy Scab Pick, and Marleen the Simpleton. The staff most likely will assume Chris just never learned to use a mop and will talk to him in condescending ways in order to train him. He's going to hate that since they'll probably talk to him like he grew up in a shack behind the house way up the holler.

I can't shake the mental image of Chris's throwing a fit for not wanting to mop, causing the other slow in the minds to start banging tables and making noises.

I think this is probably worse than jail for things that you described
For Chris the biggest thing that will destroy him is, any place he would be likely to end up will not coddle him. These places will not treat him like that woman at too many games when he went hedgehog mode and lay on the floor whispering sweet nothings into his ear until he feels special and refreshed with McDonalds sweet tea and apple slices. These places are understaffed with overworked people with very little patience. It'll very quickly get to the point where if Chris refuses to do things, or pretends people don't exist and ignore them, he will be reliving the pinned to floor to record my screams memory over, and over, and over. But instead of in toon town, in reality. After 2 decades of seeing Chris physically unable to learn a single lesson, he will continue to throw his tard tantrums. It will be hell. Hell without toys, without cartoons, and with "jerkops and trolls" literally running his life.

He was offered bail, which he only blew by throwing a tantrum. This would, I'd guess, certainly not have been the case if any sort of conclusive material evidence had turned up in Barb's mecial examination.
Tupac Shakur got bail, and he was accused of way worse than Chris Chan
There cannot have been material evidence, and generally no significant amount of evidence of any sort - or the entire case would have proceeded much, much differently right from the start.
They would not have held him for little over a year now if they had absolutely nothing to hold him on. No defence attorney worth his salt would allow his client to be incarcerated for more than a year for a case the prosecution could not prove. The prosecution would not hold him for more than a year on case they know they cannot prove. Jails are overcrowded, this is not a political case (even though it was briefly on Tucker) and the prosecutors I don't think have some kind of vendetta against Chris Chan

If Chris was told he's going to be in custody for another year, can you imagine the possible autistic meltdown?

Also one shouldn't get their hopes up that the Case of Fail is going to end anytime soon.
If found Guilty and not allowed to return Home; Premature APOCALYPSE FOR EVERYONE. Seriously, Not Good At All.
If Chris goes to a group home, will he be able to send and receive letters? Also, what about things like cartoons and art supplies? I would think that would be a good way to help keep tards occupied so they are less stress and danger to the staff.
