For as long as he brands himself as only streaming for money, he's going to get money from people trolling him.
If he just claims he's doing it for the sake of personal enjoyment, a decent portion of his detractors would find it substantially less interesting to ridicule him. But for as long as he's so ferociously angry with his own continued decision to be a streamer who doesn't enjoy streaming, he's painting a target on his back.

There seems to be quite the decent portion of people for whom fucking with him is a substantial part of their identity/enjoyment, but at the same time, I feel as though it wouldn't be especially challenging for him to escape a substantial portion of it by just being less of a rage-fuelled monster-man.

In all honesty, I suppose that's why I don't much agree with the narrative that Richard has some extent of acceptance of his fate. You're massively overcomplicating a relatively simple aspect of who Wings is.

Wings gets ALL of his self-worth from streaming and gaming. He is a grown man that bans people from his twitch chat for 'making fun of his gaming skill'.
