The community has grown large. New guests and users find it difficult to understand the culture. Reading this will help. These can be considered our principles, in order of importance.
1. Self-Preservation
I will do whatever it takes to keep the site online and available to as many people as possible.
Documenting reality is always encouraged. Misinformation is not welcome. Questioning prevailing narratives is fine.
3. Content is King
Allow content to continue uninterrupted and evolve naturally.
The forum should amuse and inform. It is not a home to vigilante justice.
Adults are all guilty of something. Children and animals are not. Animal and child abusers are not tolerated.
6. Free Expression
People can say what they want to say how they want to say it. Moderators attempt to balance between free expression, productive conversation, and preventing one person from inhibiting another's expression.
I am very frustrated seeing the anti-fun sentiments of the forum growing.
From the bottom of my fucking heart, I beg of you: lighten the fuck up. Stop getting mad at Wings of Redemption and DarkSydePhil making money. Stop frothing at the mouth with rage every time a person-of-gender joins the forum. Stop chasing away content and let potential sources say what they have to say before you start judging them. Stop encouraging SWAT pranks and other criminality; it's not funny and I'm the asshole that has to deal with the FBI.
Not many people who joined after 2019 seem to appreciate how the forum's existence is constantly at risk. Between 2014-2019, we were removed from at least 100 VPS providers. It was a constant game of cat and mouse. In 2019, I spent thousands of dollars to put the forum on its own hardware to reduce the number of third parties who can deplatform us. Despite this, every year, something else breaks. In 2021, Dreamhost (a company I have used since I was 13) told us to move our domain to another registrar.
Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal refuse to let us process payments, so making money is very difficult. We still grow despite this hardship, and the burden falls on me to figure out how to make ends meet. Since 2019, we have been engaged in various lawsuits. Two litigants have kept the forum in a state of "being sued" for years. We are in the right, but lawyers charge $200-$500 an hour.
So with this in mind, I find it staggering how often I see people encouraging deplatforming and censorship. It sure does suck to see Keffals grift CA$90,000 in a week by crying when I can barely scrape that together in a year with actual merchandise runs and lose all of it to expenses anyways. Does that mean I think Keffals shouldn't be allowed to make that money? Fuck no, I don't care how retards spend their money, and neither should you.
I honestly feel like I'm going to have a stroke.

- Do not increase our civil liability through copyright infringement - always provide fair use.

- Give people a chance to tell their stories.

- If you feel compelled to report someone to law enforcement, don't post about it. You shouldn't need reassurance if you feel justified.
