Why do Native Americans have a reputation for being badass anyways? When the Euros came they were completely BTFOd and only spared by Colonials kindness.
Yeah, they were BTFO'd because the ones who came from Europe had superior technology
and were united forces, while the injuns were a bunch of different tribes who were constantly at war with each others.
I'm sorry you didn't pay attention in history and you bought the Pocahontas idea that native americans were peaceful savages, they were actually warrior society who scared the shit out of the colonials, and that's why they would hire tribes to fight for them.
Go read up on the history of the Kiowa, and how they literally spent 50 years raiding
the US Army. They killed thousands and thousands of Americans, they'd then go hide in Mexico, do the same to Mexicans and hide back in America, along with the Comanche. The Comanche themselves were so bad that
right after the civil war the US government's first priority was to go to war with them and eliminate them because of how much raiding, pillaging and killing they did. They alone ended up wiping out tons of native tribes.
You could go one and on with the Sioux, the Apache, the Cheyenne... and all I've been talking about is, again, post-civil war. Prior to the civil war, and definitely prior to the revolution, they were far worst and more fearsome.
Go read about the life of Geronimo. Go read about how Apache fucking wrecked the 3rd Cavalry over and over. They got so used to hearing their war cry that after they defeated them they legit adopted it as theirs.
How do you expect America to survive when its own citizens don't know its own fucking history?
Overly Serious said:
great post, horrible ranking
I mean as far as enjoyment goes I don't get how you can rate the original
Predator so low, though I agree with pretty much everything you've said.
I'd say the order for me as far as enjoyment goes is:
Predator > Prey > The Predator > Predators > AvP: Requiem > AvP > Predator 2
The order as far as quality of the movie goes:
Predator > Prey > Predators > Predator 2 > AvP: Requiem > The Predator > AvP
Having rewatched
The Predator, I used to think it was really retarded, but since it came out turns out I've come to
really enjoy it's retardation. I also don't think that
Predator 2 is a horrible movie, the practical effects
are fantastic, but it's a dated piece of shit and as you pointed out tried to steal too much from other, better movies rather than being original. It has a few great concepts but it's shit as far as execution goes.
I had zero expectations before watching
The Predator, and lots before rewatching
Predator 2, so that might have colored my enjoyment of both tbf.
