I like to imagine some random person who's looking for a playthrough of FFVII just randomly finding DSP having no idea who he is and expecting him to talk about the game and the story and instead they get a fat pale man sitting in front of a pile of empty boxes in 480p ranting about how trolls "destroyed his business", stole his identity, spent all his money, and now he needs help to pay his bills.

That is why his audience will literally never grow.

Sure, except what guys like you hopefully realize is that the detractors who go out of their way to effectively fuck with Phil (bank leaks, WWE Champions, etc.) are what give the observers anything worth actually watching. DSP on boring auto-pilot mode is literal actual unwatchable content.

yes but thats a world of difference between doing and broadcasting youre doing it. especially when its not even that big of a "leak" massive trolls do provide good content but the ones that broadcast on the forums/youtube/reddit. whatever it is its dumb as fuck. if youre going to do it. just do it. dont broadcast it. which is the problem i was basically saying in my first post. people are getting too involved and broadcasting themselves do it and alot of people are flocking over to them like fly on shit. im someone who just wants to watch and laugh. if you troll and provide more laughter cool. but there was a time this thread almost entirely became about that tevin or whatever his name was. and was miserable imo. basically nothing phil, all tevin. didnt provide any leaks or content. was just commentary of shit we already knew. You know, it's funny that Dave is stuck using a facecam at all. Didn't he only start using that because at one point it was required (or strongly suggested) for Twitch partners?
Now he's stuck with it because clowning for the dents in costume is his only means of engagement. I'm sure he'd love to get rid of the cam and stop showing off Curls 'n Twirls' handiwork.

I'm sure he wishes he could go back to the Prestream era without the facecam. Who knows how much he's been fucking around when you can't see him. You could hear him lean back and forth and rock on the X and Y axis. He was probably on his phone pretty hard back then too.

For all that we here (rightfully) shit on Wings' trolls and their weird justifications for what they do, they are unified in the single purpose of fucking with Wings. DSP's trolls run the gamut of guys like Nigel with his doxathons and various info leakers, to disgruntled fans who just want Papa Phil to take them back, with tons of gay, autistic infighting that occurs between nominally troll-ish factions. If someone could weaponize even half those spergs, DSP would be trolled into oblivion. Instead, they'd rather restream to staggering viewcount numbers in the low teens or just get their channels nuked.

Loving the idea that DSP trolls suck because they'd rather have fun trolling than be degenerate lowlifes who go out of their way to fuck with a 40 year old loser who suffers every day and doesn't even know it.

I think the best side to take is just to enjoy whatever happens and not care about what others do. I wouldn't ever go out of my way to fuck with Phil and would never suggest it, but I won't get upset if others choose to do it. This is all about entertainment and whatever makes Phil rage is good enough. All the people who spend their time claiming everyone else is a-logging is beyond boring at this point.

People are already calling it game of the year material, at least for indies (since we all know Elden Ring is gonna sweep awards shows).

I think the best side to take is just to enjoy whatever happens and not care about what others do. I wouldn't ever go out of my way to fuck with Phil and would never suggest it, but I won't get upset if others choose to do it. Don't know if he forgot how much he was making back then, or his expenses are somehow bigger now post-bankruptcy but one thing I know for sure is he completely forgot how uncertain this streaming shit is as a job. He might be stressed out beyond belief but the only actions this translates to is begging and hoping.

I had to replace the lever on my toilet not long ago (plastic piece just snapped right off inside the tank). Got a basic brushed metal one for ~$10, and it could be installed by hand in 5 minutes. Among many other things, Phil's inability to even try and fix the simplest stuff is what leaves me so...confused about him. How do you get to 40 and lack the ability to do anything for yourself? This type of thing is so easy and still gives the satisfaction of solving a problem. I just cannot understand him.

When all someone has had to do is either beg daddy to do it for him or throw huge amounts of money at it, they never learn to do it for themself. It has instilled in Phil that he never has to do something for himself, that there's no point in putting in effort to fix things himself and has left him completely helpless once the most minor obstacles show up.
