I highly doubt his "expenses" are bigger now. Nothing in his personal life has changed significantly since the begruptcy outside of giving up the conndo. He's far more likely to have forgotten that he used to make far less and got too used to making 100s a day.
In fact, it has changed since then, in a positive direction, which he DID take advantage of. He just did it by living even more idiotically. Since I've started following this shitshow, Phil has had two major events in his narrative that should've ceased his begging, and he has only escalated it instead. He's lying about his actual bills, but the perpetual lack of money and the resulting agitation is no act.
When all someone has had to do is either beg daddy to do it for him or throw huge amounts of money at it, they never learn to do it for themself. It has instilled in Phil that he never has to do something for himself, that there's no point in putting in effort to fix things himself and has left him completely helpless once the most minor obstacles show up.
Yeah, like I've said, for all his bitching, the internet has spoiled him at an egregious level. After a decade of being able to afford not giving a fuck, Phil isn't going to turn things around once that ends. He will indeed go out with a whimper, because he'll be looking for someone to tell him how to fix things, meekly and sadly.
