General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Oh Jesus, can you imagine being some level 60 chad in Tarkov, and you find out you got smoked live on stream by first-time player Pippa Pipkin?
And then you watch the VOD and you see that she killed you with a P90 on semi-auto, with hipfire, while panic crawling.

Real question, is the P90 a meme gun or is it actually good? It just looks a bit goofy to me but if it's actually good I'll buy one just for the fuck of it.
My opinion, but the ballistics on the 5.7 round has a bit better performance than most other small caliber rounds for what's easy to get your hands on, but the shorter range of being a PDW means you're going to fall short of AR engagement distances, but if you're a good shot in mid-close ranges the ROF alone can chew someone apart. It'll probably kill your wallet in ammo costs because it's a 50 round magazine. I am a big gay for shitty looking guns and I've had a chub for P90 since Goldeneye so feel free to disregard me though.

She could just have regurgitated the stupid "talent freedom" nonsense without taking direct shots at a competitor, no matter how true or untrue something is, this kind of shit will only fan the flames of tribalfaggotry and get on the bad side of everyone who likes hololive
Those "shots" are pretty soft because all she says is that there is a difference and she didn't even say hololive's way was bad.
If folks have to "watch what they say or they'll get on the bad side of everyone who likes hololive" than the person making the statement isn't the one creating the tribalfaggotry, the hololive fans are. Though I don't disagree that there's a very strong tendency to lash out defensively on the part of a lot of holofans though to be fair that does come part in parcel with being the big name in town more fans means more people jumping up to defend you at a moments notice, hell it's half of what I'm seeing in this thread on this topic lol. But there's no real reason to take anything she said as offensive, she didn't frame it in a negative light, just that there can be alternatives to it because she doesn't think her general content would mesh with the idol-hololive image that pervaded the western vtuber sphere in 2020. (which I think even most people even here would agree that most if not all of the Vshojo girls content wouldn't work with restrictions that exist within hololive itself.
i would not defend this shit if it came from gura, vox or any other big names in the industry. Also, half her statement is bs, the only part which is even somewhat true is the relationship part.
You're right that it shouldn't matter who says something but nah I think what she said carries a lot more truth than you're willing to give credit for Certainly you recognize on the family side of her claim there's a difference between just being able to casually talk about any personal matter as you please and have family members drop into your stream is different than having to go through the managerial hoops to do so that happens in Hololive. Pekora's manager was a nervous wreck about the first pekomama stream. It's just a non issue within Vshojo and there are pros and cons to that. I'm certainly not saying the Vshojo way is better, and lord knows I watch far more hololive. I just don't know why folks get so kneejerk defensive over the comparison when they'd probably be a lot calmer if people were comparing something they like about hololive to something they aren't as fond of in Nijisanji. Also I'm sorry but that last bit is just laughable you can't even bring yourself to admit the relationship bit is entirely true. Nyanners streams with her boyfriend, 80% of hololive girls have to pretend they don't ever interact with men outside of hololive employees, family and viewers. all you need to do is ask "what would happen if Fauna fired up her stream with her BF the way Nyanners does with Aethel" to realize her point there is valid. But again, that's a matter of preference with pros and cons of it's own, but it's no big deal to just note the difference.
You know you fucked up when even reddit (who mostly sided with vshojo in the nux drama) is unanimously against your point, i do think it's a nothingburger but i don't think it's "well and good because she has a point".
putting aside the first part because I could give two shits less about reddit or trying to use reddit's opinion to validate an opinion just because it happens to agree with some parts of this thread for once when otherwise reddit agreeing on a point could just as readily be used here to say something is wrong just because reddit said it so it must be wrong.
I don't really think it's even about her being "well and good because she has a point" I think she just gave her point of view and opinion, that her opinion is benign and generally unoffensive so there's no much reason for folks to get defensive over it. and that there's nothing more to it than that, it's not about "who makes a better point" because she's just giving her opinion on a preference and saying she's happy with Vshojo's way of doing things you don't have to agree with that to just recognize it as a valid preference. It's just weird to me that as much as the folks here like to meme on the "talent freedom" line for being meaningless, the moment a vshojo member explains a facet in which they have more talent freedom, the response is so kneejerk and defensive "b-b-buh my favorite corpo can also do something somewhat like that with managerial approval so vshojo still bad" like ok, but not everyone wants to jump through beurocratic hoops to only do only end up doing something "sort of kind of similar to what they wanted to do" at the end of the day it's just her giving her preference and there's not much reason to take any preference that doesn't favor hololive as an attack on hololive or a slight against it.

It's all just weird to me, though this is probably a Connor situation where I'll just have to accept there's no sense trying to change anyone's mind on it because the hate runs too deep. (talking about the general sentiment of the thread not necessarily you in particular)
You are focusing on specific examples, such as having parents on stream, which I admit, probably isn't as easy as it seems, but that's not the only example Silver talked about, is she? Her exact words "You can be yourself, you can have relationship and talk about yourself and your parents." made it seems like Holomems have to think twice before they can talk about themselves and their parents, which is pure BS. Just purely from Ame I have lost count of how many times she talks about her daily life and family, she definitely didn't have to worry about talking about it.
I'm focusing on those specific examples because I read the entire interview not just the couple quotes so I understand the context of the statement you quoted there coming alongside her talking at length about streaming alongside her family.
that she brought it up again later in a less descript way doesn't discount that folks should be able to (if they read the actual interview) connect A and B and realize what family content she's referring to enjoying doing and not having to worry about doing. Context is important and it's not just grifting clippers that sometimes abuse the lack of context.
“I have a lot of people who say this on my stream when I’m playing with my family, but if they’re not super close with their family or their parents have passed away, it’s a good way to live vicariously through us as a fun gamer family. I like to make people feel comfy and happy and feel a bit better about how sh*tty life can be sometimes.”

Silvervale’s family is almost the unique draw of her content. Alongside brother Konzetsu — also a VTuber — and with Mamavale behind them both, the three of them bring their fun to everyone on Twitch. It’s heartwarming, and can fill a void in someone’s life if they’re feeling especially homesick.

It wasn’t the intended plan, even with how close Silver is to her family. But it has made the streaming journey all the better with them by her side, and given her even more purpose.

“We had one stream, which is maybe one of my favorite streams ever, where we did Fear Factor. She picked out a bunch of foods I knew I would hate and she made me eat them on stream. Bugs — a lot of bugs — oysters, you name it. There was one part where I was trying to eat it but it was so gross. I had it in my mouth for five minutes not knowing what to do with it. I was freaking out.

“We’ll do a lot of fun mother-daughter streams like that. For Christmas one time we rated people’s decorations — just fun family things that maybe people in chat won’t experience themselves. We celebrate holidays together so they can celebrate with us.”
Admittedly though I get why people are hyperfocusing on just those two quotes because the initial presentation of the interview to the thread pulled those two out of the context of the interview to highlight them in the first place.

that's probably too much sperging on the topic from me for a day though gonna just go watch the Calli Magni art stream starting up soon.

If you thought MGR was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Ten minutes.
Lol they're doing some things well, but some shit's driving me nuts. On that road they just crossed, Pippa should have popped down to pull security while the other girl ran to the other side and set in, and then Pippa should have crossed.

How does 5.7 compare to 855M, or is that what you're referring to with AR as a lot of the newer ones are 9mm.

A handy dandy ammo performance chart for Tarkov, in case anyone wanted to know how autistically appealing the game is for detail-oriented ADD assholes like me.

Pippa just had extract camping explained to her (people lurking around the level exit and killing you just as you are about to leave and take all your stuff):

"Ooh, I wanna do that!"

"Pippa, no, that's evil!"

Like they said, it's going to have a shorter effective range than 5.56 NATO.

5.7x28mm and the FN P90 were created out of 80s NATO projects. The proliferation of body armor lead to a fear of situations such as Soviet Paratroopers dropping behind NATO lines and defeating rear echelon and support forces armed primarily with 9mm handguns and submachine guns. NATO wanted a new round that would be smaller than 5.56mm and have better penetration against body armor than 9mm. The round would be used both out of handguns and out of the new "personal defense weapons " - essentially submachine guns chambered in this calibre.

The NATO project ended up being a bit of a dead end. The two PDWs that would come out of it would be the FN P90 and HK MP7, which used the FN 5.7x28mm and HK 4.6x30mm respectively. In lieu of major military contracts both companies have had some success selling these weapons to special forces, counter-terrorism units, police, etc. The P90 is generally considered to be the more successful of the two. As AR-derived platforms using 5.56mm have shrunk, the need for submachine guns has lessened.

Overall I'd personally say that the 5.7x28mm is a pretty alright round, basically effective at what it was designed to do, and that the P90 is a pretty good gun designed around it. They're both just very niche.

Shiina is having an extended stream (semi endurance?) And we're now having a zatsu where she's been listing all her sad girl/menhera issues, past and present.

- chronic digestive problems
- constant nightmares
- fucked up sleep schedule
- stress related digestive issues
- fear of being forgotten if she doesn't stream often
- kidney stones
- uses a dental night guard after grinding her teeth too much
- hasn't had spinach for at least 7 years, HFCS hate, etc.

Fuck, she could die anytime bros...
