The true tragedy of this is that the specifics of the appeal will be drowned out by the brainlets using the denial as an afirmation of their accusations against him when in reality, it just means the courts didn't think their accusations had enough merit to actually do damage to him financially.

They weren't able to prove at all that he's a rapist. Only that they couldn't damage his career enough by calling him one.

Also I find it mildly amusing that their attempts to campaign against him failed so miserably that 3 years later the appeals court would hand wave it away on technicalities alone and not really because the accusations held any real merit.

most importantly, a clear conscience

Now compare all that to the defendants.

Fumigation has been sold and merged into a bigger problem now with hbo max discovery going on a chopping binge anime from crunchyroll is in an unstable place right now.

Arin revealed on Game Grumps a while back that Sega dropped him due to fan backlash too.

I’ve only been casually watching the thread since the decision.

I got off the phone with Vic not too long ago, he is okay and deeply grateful for the fans who have continued to support him even before this garbage began.

While disappointed, there was an 85% chance this would happen. Appeals RARELY go in favor of the plaintiff.

That being said, this doesn’t magically make vic any type of the lies that have been stated about him. Anything he has ever done has been consensual, be it a hug, a relationship or anything being twisted to fit the tellers emotional agenda.

What this has done is show fans who actually cares about them, and who sees them as a cash grab. Sure, vic has not been to many of the larger shows aside from AM, but the smaller shows are still seen as blessings. Chances to meet fans who might not be able to afford to go to larger shows.

What these three did is tell the world that you can lie and get away with it if you stop the truth from coming out against a panel of your peers. This tells con organizers to be far more wary of who they choose because if they decide to defame the show, they can use things like TCPA to legally ruin you.

While this chapter came to about as satisfying an end as the epilogue to Harry Potter, he still lives and breathes and for some that will still be too much.

So where do we go from here? Well there’s still apperances in the NE, Oklahoma and Cali regions and more phone calls to get back to as well as the weekly twitch.

Lawsuits are always an uphill battle and extremely hard to win. I was genuinely shocked when Johnny won his lawsuit against Amber. Vic’s appeal went the way I expected it would go. Lawsuits are a bitch.

Another controversy will come down because it always does and the people who are aware of the corruption will see it. Maybe the next can react more appropriately and win? Fuck if I know.
