So What will be worse/more insulting to it's franchise: SR6 or GTA6? (Saints Row 6 is definitely in the lead rn)
I'm leaning towards Saints Row, but reserving judgement for GTA VI as we haven't seen it yet.

With the exception of Red Dead Redemption II, Rockstar has steadily declined for me over the past decade over the way they abandoned their campaigns, milked GTA Online dry, unleashed GTA Plus on a nine year old game, ripped out all sorts of songs instead of paying to renew licenses (they make 3 million dollars a day from Shark Cards, they can afford to renew licenses), and let Grove Street Games defile their classic games (twice in San Andreas' case), so GTA VI being underwhelming wouldn't shock me (I want to be wrong, but Rockstar has really pissed me off).

On the other hand, as someone that enjoyed most of Volition's output, seeing them go against their fanbase so drastically after they almost bit it when Agents of Mayhem bombed leaves me bewildered. The best I can say about the reboot is that it's just more of Saints Row 3 but with neutered humor and the worst cast of characters since Wolfenstein Youngblood, and each bit of new footage just makes me more embarrassed for Volition thinking this is what people want.

Hell of it is, we still haven't seen the full story for either game, so who knows how much more insulting they can get.

You cannot say that the new game is canon with the old games when you've outright said that your new game is a reboot, it automatically makes it's own thing, completely unrelated to the old games. That's not how this shit work, events of GTA III are not canon to the events of GTA IV and vice versa because the GTA universe got rebooted with IV.
You'd be surprised with how the GTA V community doesn't realize that when they always ask for CJ in GTA 6.

It's annoying.

The universe issue is the least of the problems for those retards. Young Maylay has joined the "Fuck R*" club where he believes Rockstar ripped him off with the initial contract so there's no way he would even star as a random voice cameo in GTA 6. But it's expected from GTA V normies who know jackshit about the games or the behind-the-scenes stuff such as voice actors getting pissed at R* over the years.

It's gotten worse since it's all but confirmed GTA VI is in Vice City.

The amount of retards I've seen asking if Tommy will have a big role in it or not is astounding.

They're literally zoomers. Why do you think clickbait for GTA 6 exists so much? A majority of them are likely teenagers. It's embarrassing.

Especially that Ray Liotta passed away. Who knows what will VI be in, officially?

I just saw the article of GTAVI removing all crude humor and 'not punching down', so, I just came here to cry a little bit. Don't mind me.
The thought that someone at Rockstar might've been jotting down notes while watching the Saints Row announcement makes me sad. I thought they'd have a laugh about it before drafting up new ways to milk GTA Online, it makes me feel a bit sick that they might've been looking at it in awe like that spaz that watched the Rise of Skywalker trailer instead.

Maybe the likelihood of Saints Row bombing and potentially finishing Volition off may clue Rockstar in, but I'm not holding my breath.

You saw some of the shit that was released in GTA Online, yeah?

The fucking rocket bike was literally from Saints Row 3.

I’m 14 years too late to realize that the Russian actor Vladimir Mashkov had his character from the movie Behind Enemy Lines based on Niko Bellic

It’s days like these where I really deserve to not be a GTA fan. This was a fun find for me today.

If one would want a DEFINITIVE Vice City, find an original launch print of Vice City on PS2.

It has original weapon manufacturer names, a tear gas grenade spawn, an extra song, and Haitian unfriendly dialogue.

Also, on some R* news:

>be an original GTA1 dev member
>have GTA blow up to be successful
>find archival info on GTA1
>share it online
>get DMCA'd by your OWN company
>over info from 25+ years ago

After them DMCAing a GTA4 save file (no really a save file) this doesn't surprise me. I'm just wondering what's the motivation here? What to they gain from doing this shit? Like with the mod DMCAs at the very least can be explained as they wanted people to buy the shitty remasters over modding but they gain nothing by doing this. It's GTA 1, a game they care so little about they give it out for free. I highly doubt info on GTA 1 was gonna hurt their bottom line.

Honestly the original release has some pretty bad bugs and tear gas is really ass (too slow to kill and enemies run away when you throw it). I have the Double Pack version for PS2 which is a middle ground. Weapons renamed, bugs fixed, tear gas still in place, and haitian unfriendly.

Agreed, but it IS the original vision of Vice City. One major game-breaking bug involves the Distribution side mission corrupting your saves.

If you don't take meaningful steps to protect your IP, a court can rule that you've de facto released it into the public domain.

Apple of gaming, no really, kike zelnick wants to behave like apple by being overaggressive with the IP that T2 owns.

Pretty interesting video looking at the differences between the original Vice City and it’s spin-off, Vice City Stories.

Prices for GTA Liberty City and Vice City Stories are slightly going down to respectable prices on eBay. Only downside is that for Vice City Stories, they always have those users that try to siphon more money out of you by only getting the game and case, but no manual, map and poster.

It’s not real a GTA game in my eyes if you don’t have those three basic necessities.
VCS is made after SA, it uses SA lightning so that's why it looks "bad" when compared to VC, the nigger that made this shit for views "forgotten" that tiny detail.

Okay, so I knew the “Expanded and Enhanced” edition for Grand Theft Auto V on the PS5 was a bad idea from the start, but I didn’t think it was this bad.

Apparently, if you go on Metacritic, you’ll see the user review score look like this:

5DD2085C-0E1D-4DB7-AC42-8A6795C655EA.jpeg
0E0DFA5B-5871-44E3-B87F-9D6F13DC2579.jpeg

:stress:

A 2.6?!

To my knowledge, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a video game like Grand Theft Auto get an horrendously user average score like this. Even the user reviews don’t help things, since they really look like they’re written by real people, and not bots:

130B1A15-4E8E-4EA2-B148-99F58BC0FAED.jpeg6E551152-858A-41FF-9ABA-D0D5EFC28341.jpeg0355F2E3-5030-44BB-9C40-76F8238B0426.jpeg48B50016-C0AE-4A8A-AE14-9B987D28C994.jpegA91C0E30-0160-4658-9AF3-59C773208C2A.jpeg
4E785DE8-A171-4244-8310-6DC3766E6768.jpeg

Out of all these reviews, the fact that there’s just one “1” score and the rest are just “0”’s really helps explains why “remastered” versions of already mega-successful and influential games are just scams waiting to happen.

Though, as a bonus, at least this comment gave me some heartwarming optimism that not all hope is lost:

:semperfidelis:Never mess with a patriot who won’t hesitate to tell you his distaste with the gaming industry is on par with his distaste with the federal government. You can’t just get away with selling Shark Cards forever, you know.
