People who unironically like Revolutionary Girl Utena are legitimately brain damaged.

I tried to watch the first part of this and couldn’t. She used Haruka and Michiru’s US dub names, and kept pretending SM was the first magical girl with action scenes as well as other stuff that was just wrong. I say this as an SM fag, the exact type she’s talking about when she goes over who grew up with the series, people to whom it is important.sailor moons will wanna watch this lol

Wakey wakey.I realize this is severely autistic of me and should just concentrate on whether she found Saban Moon or not
There is a sadistic part of me that wishes this took off.Wakey wakey.
I don't even have interest in the media itself of the american sailor moon stuff, but the story about how to find it sometimes is way more interesting than the final product itself. It is a narrative, so all the first video and this one paints it very well, For example in this video when she talks with the producers of the live action/animation part was way more interesting than the final result.I tried to watch the first part of this and couldn’t. I realize this is severely autistic of me and should just concentrate on whether she found Saban Moon or not. Which I hope she did but I have watched other “documentaries” of her and while she has done good for the lost media community (if emailing people for a ROM of shovelware counts, anyway) she also comes off as too self-congratulatory.
Apologies for the autism.
you know, this one isn't even that bad. The shit that was supposed to be Gundam in the US is even more terrifying, and the feeling that americans ruins everything is completely valid after you watch this:I never thought in my lifetime I would see this. For 20 years I have been wondering about it and now it is finally here and it really makes me really sad it didn't came out. The pilot makes me want more out of curiosity. I get why they didn't do it since it was cheaper to dub the anime, but still... I really would have loved this as a kid I would have had all of the dolls and play it with my friends and stuff.
It is nice that they found it, but at the same time I feel so... sad thinking about what could have been. Somewhere in another universe this is fondly remembered.
I love how it's exactly as cringeworthy as everyone expected. Purists rag on the DiC and Cloverway dubs but goddamn, the censored cheese in them was nothing compared to what Saban's version would've been like. And yet kid me probably still would've loved it.Wakey wakey.
It's like if Jem was a shitty version of Power Rangers.Wakey wakey.
Me too!As a kid I loved Shugo Chara

Pretty!i demand all of you to IMMEDIATELY watch yokohama kaidashi kikou.
two episodes. 30 minutes each. one of the last traditionally animated animes ever published.
gave me a temporary zest for life after ~12 years of nonstop depression.
best ever. wish there was more.

It wasn't even that bad, it was alright.I agree, my issue is that I just don't like the chick making the documentary. Far too much is spent on her waffling on about 'I kept waiting for the email, and was unsure if I would get it, and then I did! I was over the moon!' while filming herself acting distressed. I understand she is trying to make a name for herself in Youtube and putting her face out there is a necessary part of it, but I still hate it. My interest is on Saban Moon, not her shitty acting.
Anyway.
Anyone still read Skip Beat? Will it outlive us all? And did anyone see the new Rose of Versailles project?
It's been 5 years since I paused my reading of Skip Beat. I bet if I get caught up nothing will have really moved. It's the shoujo version of Dragon Ball like that ain't it?I agree, my issue is that I just don't like the chick making the documentary. Horimiya counts as 'shonen' despite being a very sweet, completely SFW highschool romcom just because it is published in MonthlyG Fantasy. It's funny! Those labels can feel very silly at times. One thing I've noticed is that I've been into a lot of seinen manga without realizing it. Seinen just means "adult man" so you'd think that demographic would mean shonen but on steroids but...it's not always? I guess manga is also marked that way based on what magazine it's published in regardless of genre. Series like Arte, A Bride's Story, and others that seen like josei. I like that they focus on characters growing, interacting, and seeing them achieve their goals. It's a nice alternative to the glut of shonen battle manga in mainstream media. Not that those are all bad.
