I'm more disappointed she didn't even give a token "Sucks for the creators and artists, though." Like, yes, piracy is always an option, but Lily misses the big picture, as usual. It's sad that piracy may well be the only option for some people to consume media. Media they are perfectly willing to pay for to consume, if only the media holders were to distribute it.
I'm a fan of Fire Emblem, and let me tell you, most of that game's fandom has pirated near every game in the franchise. There's a handful that never came to the west and are only playable by a western audience thanks to emulation and translation patches created by dedicated fans. Have you seen the prices a copy of Radiant Dawn or Path of Radiance can go for? More often than not, piracy is not a matter of 'sticking it' to the rights holders because they don't deserve a dime for whatever reason, or stealing it just because you can, but because there's no other legal channels they can reasonably acquire it, and all the creatives who worked on it won't be getting compensated for each time their work is torrented.
There's just this general lack of empathy for the creators whose work is being made difficult to legally acquire through no fault of their own, because it doesn't inconvenience Lily Orchard.
