Hello, I was a former fan of Lily Orchard. I've read this thread the past few days and it was pretty informative. The only reason i write here now is to ask for clarification about something.
In one of her streams Lily showed a screenshot in which Lizzy said she was happy that Lily was raped(?)/she told Lily to kill herself. I know it's probably not true, but do you guys think Lily edited that screenshot? This screenshot was before her Stalkers video.

This is the veneer, but it's really about control.

She found a word she can hitch her wagon to where she gets to berate and demean people who use it, where she gets to pretend she has the moral high ground while she tells people who identify as queer why they're actually self-loathing bigots, where she can shut down anybody who uses the word immediately on grounds that it's a slur and the person (whether they're using it as a slur or not) isn't worth listening to. It's about forcing people who want to talk to her to adhere to her own views on the matter to prove they aren't a bad person.

Her regular tactics, just distilled into a particular word. And because there's already discourse about its validity, she can fall back on arguments that have already been made to bully people into doing things her way.

Besides the point, people only bitch about the big eyes and waist because Lily tends to come off as hypocritical on subjects like this. Most guys are gross, weird and like women with small waists and big eyes; like they’re youth-coded? Well, so does Lily but she’s built different.

Also people can point to actual issues in the puppet besides the eyes and waist; V4 is actually pleasant to look at and looks like it was made by someone you would pay for a commission from.

Good lord Jerry is an idiot. Yes, those are all things the writers made him do. They also made him a mutant, decided what his powers would be, and that he would be a Holocaust survivor.

This is how writing works, you mentally stunted freak. Without the input of the writers Magneto doesn't exist. And let's not forget that from the get go Magneto was a villain. The Holocaust survivor stuff actually came later. Magneto has been part of the X-Men comics since 1963, but wasn't revealed to be a Holocaust survivor until 1981 in The Uncanny X-Men #150.

Meaning that Magneto existed as a far less sympathetic villain for nearly 20 years before being given a more nuanced backstory.

Guess what? He's an example of what is called "The hate that hate creates." and it's actually a fairly old trope for villains. The basic idea is that hate poisons everything it touches, and can turn victims into villains. "Never again" can be either a vow to never repeat the mistakes of the past, or a rallying cry to repeat them.

Being sympathetic or having a fucked up backstory doesn't at all negate the fact that the villain is, gasp, a fucking villain! Look at Darth Vader. Created through weird force experimentation, manipulated, fed a diet of fear, and utterly fucked over by the man he was convinced could help him and lost everything he sought to protect. Doesn't stop him from being the bad guy no matter how bad I feel for the guy.

And I think this is why Jerry has such a problem with the Victim to Villain trope. Because it means no matter what he does, no matter how he suffers, he's always going to be a shitbag. He tries to pile stories of rape, abuse, and all other sort of woe is me bullshit on top of his fucked up actions and hoping that it somehow makes people not realize what a fucked up sack of crap he actually is.

Conclusion: That's it. I can't take it anymore. There's a 99% chance I won't be doing another one of these unless Lily makes a Glass of Water that's anything other than godawful, and I don't think she can at this point. That fact that it wasn't as bad as Lily gaslighting people on the nature of abuse and suggesting that marginalized people are better off killing themselves is a laughably low bar.
