I see it like this: They made student debt cancellation promises during the campaign expecting to be one of those things that put butts in voter booths and then you either put on the back burner and conveniently forget about or at most put a half-hearted attempt into (before shrugging and saying "well we tried").

But now their poll numbers are so far down the shitter that they need SOMETHING to try to get young voter support numbers back up.
Keep in mind none of these fucks actually gives a rats ass about students or whatever. Here's a bit knocked off your overpriced schooling to get you to like us again. Its basically a bribe and the fact there are many seems to be a bunch of arguing in party about this is a sign they are not confident in the midterms going well.

Yeah spending $300 billion during hyper-inflation so some retards who chose meme-degrees with no income potential can get a write off is such a great idea. I can gurantee you tuition goes sky hight now. If these idiots in government wanted to fix anything, it would be curtailing these crappy schools that are literal ponzi schemes. But the Democrats are in on the scheme so that will never happen.

Pretty much at lunch every day for a month (until Cloudflare setup a massive waiting room/helped us out). Also oh boy, I finally get to use my economics degree to talk in a Kiwi Farms thread.

This loan forgiveness shit won't do anything if they keep the same meat grinder that is our current loan system going. Not only are you having people who never went to college, or were responsible and paid their loans off getting pissed at the fact they're getting fucked over by the government, but you're going to have the class of 2023 looking at the people who got free gibs with a glint of jealously for not getting anything when they are suddenly paying an extra $10,000 in tuition because the government refuses to stop fueling this massive education bubble that's been forming over the past near half century in this country.

Not to mention there's been little to no actual explaining as to how this shit will work. Is it a check for people like the stimulus checks? Is it automatic? Does it go towards accrued interest? The principal? Are the interest rates going even higher now because of this massive injection into the system? Will I have to report this on my W-2? Are you going to force me to take it if I do have outstanding loans? What happens if I owe less than 10,000? Do I get the rest back as fun money in my bank account? What about people taking loans out right now for the fall '22 semester? Are those counted too?

You don't have a choice. The system is going to collapse and we can either have a softer landing or a harder landing. Getting rid of all of the debt in a system that is built and fueled by it will crash the system. That is the soft landing. Continuing to kick the can down the road like we are doing and letting it collapse on its own will be worse than a controlled demolition of debt elimination.

Kiwi Farms is an easy target by the right or left, it won't result in anything, will have no effect on her polls, and in general will not do -anything-. Its like any politician saying we should shut down 4chan, and should be met with the same "that's nice, dear" response.
