well i think they formed perfectly. little evolved proboscis monkeysThose are proboscises. They are supposed to be noses but they didn’t form correctly.

I think cleft palate surgery has been very much improved over the years. I know an older person born with one and the scars are very obvious.View attachment 3647313
This is how different degrees of holoprosencephaly (when the brain hemispheres don’t fully divide) cause the facial feature to not fully spread out.
Depends if the baby could suckle, which isn’t a given when the nose hole is also the mouth hole. If not, dead baby.I think cleft palate surgery has been very much improved over the years. I know an older person born with one and the scars are very obvious.
I've also seen a little girl locally who was born that way and you can't even tell unless you know.
I wonder how they dealt with it before modern surgery was a thing?
Most cleft palates aren't because of holoprosencephaly, though, they're just cosmetic and isolated. With holoprosencephaly, the baby is fucked inside and out, from a very early stage of development before the neural crest becomes fully differentiated. Luckily most of these miscarry long before birth.I think cleft palate surgery has been very much improved over the years. I know an older person born with one and the scars are very obvious.
just squirt it in thereDepends if the baby could suckle, which isn’t a given when the nose hole is also the mouth hole. If not, dead baby.
This is basically correct: they are born with autism. They don’t really “regress,” or suddenly develop it. they just stop meeting certain developmental milestones. An untrained eye can see the baby as making normal progress, because the child does appear to hit some or many milestones, but people who know what to look for can spot it quite early.CDD is so fucking spooky. Sometimes I wonder if run of the mill autists have the same thing; they just got it as babies instead of preschoolers, so they couldn’t let anyone know. The early developmental progress could be explained as autistic scripting, like you said. Severe autism is bad but I think it’s easier to stomach when thinking of them as always being in their own autistic world and not as normies gone horribly wrong.
To this day, people who have gone to Third World countries tell stories about seeing facial differences like this that in America, or even any other developed nation, may well have been remedied before the baby left the hospital as a newborn. I know someone who in recent years adopted 3 girls from China, and one of them was a toddler with an unrepaired cleft lip and palate, and after they left China, they could tell that the people who saw her didn't know what they were looking at, because they had never seen anything like that before. They went to a pediatric plastic surgery center, and they'd never operated on an American child that old with that disorder, either. Now, she just has a slightly flat nose and a scar on her lip, and that's it. Anyway, if the people who have those differences are asked about them, in many cases they may not even know that they CAN be repaired! This is one of the duties performed by Operation Smile.I think cleft palate surgery has been very much improved over the years. I know an older person born with one and the scars are very obvious.

Do you mean for autism only, or for CDD also? Because it seems from the articles shared that CDD definitely has a period of acute regression where previous skills are lost. This is basically correct: they are born with autism. Some pro life people are women because they think women who get abortions are sluts who get what’s coming to them. They seem unaware of all the potential ways a planned pregnancy can go wrong. That story is BEYOND fucked. Louisiana also voted that abortion has no constitutional protection. so people, more than the courts, decided that.
There have been several articles I've showed others - to snide mockery - on how one women was left to bleed NINE DAYS from a botched Miscarriage in Missouri. Abortion is banned there. Despite it being a miscarriage, they refused to give her the medication to end it. Why? Because they still view it as murder despite their insistence it isn't. The hospital refused to help her.
Another Texan woman, whose child was wanted, had a fetus with no cardiac activity. Three ultrasounds were demanded of her. Abortion refused, despite it being a dead baby. They wanted her to give birth to a dead child.
Another woman had a dead fetus and instead of an abortion...they induced labor. This woman was screaming in agony over giving birth to a dead baby. Knowingly. At least in ancient times you had a vague hope it was alive.
They do this to raise birth rates. Traumatizing women causes birth rates to crash.
I'll accept them too. You cannot be a follower of Christ while demanding a woman give up her labour for a dead fetus. They did this during the stem cell thing in the early 2000s: they got it banned because pro lifers were crying about fetal tissue. The WI-38 cell line also used fetal cells, yet those fetuses died to save HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS. Maybe billions. They weren't flushed away.
The men who sign these bills all have one thing in common: they all want healthy babies. The MOMENT a spud is born they are the first to strike down any maternity care or help, citing "it's too expensive."
Well, they can fucking take it then. Since you wanted it born so badly.

Hm, I was gonna say they’ll just end up neglected in an underfunded understaffed home, but maybe their terminally online mothers will actually do some good if they expose nursing homes for the (too often literal) shitshow they are.I understand why some of these disability moms create accounts and share every minute of their unique lives: they are lonely, socially isolated and in desperate need of any sort of attention.
But I am curious to see if or how this evolves in the decades to come. The semi-'cute' disabled kids, like the Cabbage Patch boy from a few posts ago, are going to be a lot more awkward when they are still drooling at age 17 -- and there's no longer any longshot hope that they'll wake up one day as a normal-ish kid.
Just autismDo you mean for autism only, or for CDD also? Because it seems from the articles shared that CDD definitely has a period of acute regression where previous skills are lost.
CDD and autism are a bit outside my area of research, but for what it's worth, I also believe that they are two distinct disorders. My suspicion is that CDD is a neurometabolic disorder, the underlying cause of which has not been identified yet. Some pro life people are women because they think women who get abortions are sluts who get what’s coming to them. They seem unaware of all the potential ways a planned pregnancy can go wrong.
Some CDD researchers think it’s totally unrelated to autism and it’s only that it seems superficially similar.
The WI-38 cells were obtained from a 4-month-old female fetus who was legally aborted in Sweden in 1962, from a mother who was trying to flee an abusive marriage. The cells were obtained without the mother's consent, which at the time was not a breach of medical ethics, and the mother, who last I heard is still alive and wishes to be identified only as "Mrs. X", knows about all this, and is grateful that her tragedy (she wanted the baby but just felt that she couldn't have it) has led to so much good. That story is BEYOND fucked. Louisiana also voted that abortion has no constitutional protection. so people, more than the courts, decided that.
