Nijisanji announced that Millie and Mysta have had to pull out of NijiFes 2022. Mysta said early on that he might have to and wasn't getting his hopes up due to the time it'll take him to renew his passport. Millie is likely in the same boat given that their cancellations were announced together but that's not 100% confirmed.

Everyone else listed from KR, ID, and EN will be there in person. There's even been preliminary off-collab hints such as Nagao and Selen. I strongly imagine everyone will be keen to do off-collabs while they're all in Tokyo together so October is going to be big.

Based on things she's said in her membership stuff, Millie knew for a while that she wouldn't be able to go as well. It really is just bad luck that they aren't able to go since I know that Canada and the UK have a backlog of paperwork to go through concerning traveling.

This is kind of old now and no one probably cares, but on Saturday Phase Connect's Remilia and Rie played the bomb defusing game and at the end had some rounds in Chinese-only. They explained that they'll be doing it in "our mother language" but they speak different dialects (1:32:03). They decide on Mandarin only and to me it sounds like Rie is speaking naturally, but Remilia struggles with it. Hopefully this means Remilia is the better kind of Chinese and not mainland, as I've been enjoying watching her and would hate to have to stop because she turned out to be the enemy.

Saying that, shortly after, they suggest playing in Japanese-only, and Remilia declines, saying "Japanese is hard"..in Japanese, while clearly knowing how to speak it (1:44:37) it, so I dunno.

I pretty sure you have nothing to worry about, Remi is living in Malaysia, but may be of Chinese ancestry, there is a large ethically Chinese population in living Malyasia (a situation similar to ethnic Russian populations living in adjoining nations). Between her and her PL, in addition to ESL English, Malaysian, some form of Chinese (my guess is Cantonese, see next paragraph), and some Japanese, she has also spoken some German and understands Korean (Airi was asking to her something in Korean and Remi answered her in English).

The reason I believe Remi likely speaks Cantonese is that it is more common spoken than Mandarin in the SE of China and adjoining nations with heavy ethic Chinese populations like Malaysia. Cantonese and Mandarin have a lingual relationship like Spanish and Portuguese, a lot of things in common but a lot of differences too, so you do have to work your brain (ie. struggle) if you know one and want to speak/understand the other. On the other hand Taiwanese is a more formal dialect of the Mandarin spoken on the mainland, Taiwanese and Mandarin have a lingual relationship like the Queens English and American English, it's not very hard to be understood or to understand the other, so I find it doubtful Remi speaks Taiwanese since it's wouldn't be nearly struggle that Cantonese to any form of Mandarin would be.

ILUNA is such a fucking interesting case study to me and my tendency to look at numbers and trends.

Spoiler: Post-Keffalsgate Ramble

For starters - and as I mentioned before - they don't seem to have attracted the Chinese fujos literally at all. All of their viewership seems to be brand new Western fans, as their viewership barely overlaps with anyone no matter how many people stream in that slot.

Secondly is donations and viewership: Ren, Kyo, and Aster are 1st, 2nd, and 4th respectively for viewership, but 4th, 5th and 6th for donations. Maria is 3rd for viewership and 2nd for donations. Scarle and Aia make up 5th and 6th for viewership but 1st and 3rd for donations.

In other words, the girls have the lowest viewership but the highest donations. In fact, Scarle has the highest ratio of viewers to donations out of all the girls in the branch, which is quite the feat given she's an insomniac that streams when most of her audience are asleep. Aia has low live viewership but normal VOD views relative to other girls in the branch, which says to me that she has the fan base but she isn't accommodating them with her schedule.

Overall, the dispersion of V-Tuber fans between ILUNA and Tempus is relatively even. ILUNA currently averages a cumulative 13,100 viewers to Tempus' 13,800, and donations are currently something like $67K to $80K. I mention this because there were questions about cannibalisation due to their debut timing.

There's a bit more nuance to all this, as always, and I always mention nuance because numbers DO lie. It's also worthy of note that one is the debut Gen of a new branch whilst the other is the 6th Wave of a branch that debuts new people every couple of months. It seems that both gens have done well in their opening month.

Also Scarle is very based.

ILuna seems to have attracted a bunch of new audience (bunch of them being alphabet soups). I always wondered if Scarle and Magni knew each other irl since they have been interacting with each other since day one and it feels really wholesome. Or maybe she was a huge fan of his past life.

Anecdotal, but I know someone who has been full time streaming for 6-7 years now with a stable ~230CCV on Twitch and seems to get by just fine with him and his wife while also living in Cali. His wife also works on and off I believe so it's not entirely 100% his income but whatever it was she does she'd been laid off during covid uprising and they still pulled through fine. A majority of his audience is subbed, he does pretty fine in donos though I don't have any hard numbers, he also doesn't run ads ever but does have a long term ongoing sponsorship with a beer company. Not sure what the payout difference is between twitch and youtube, that could also be a factor.

Pippa could probably make about $900-1500 extra a month if she wouldn't just go around playing copyrighted music and having her VODs based on Ads alone. Nousagi grilled her for this. You dont really need that much of a high CCV as long as the viewers are consistent. Koefficient most of the time has 330 and with ads, memberships and donos + youtube he gets enough to earn a living from it.

You think they'd pull the Japan travel card to justify Gura and Ina being there and not the others, When Gura and Ina are very openly not in Japan, and one of the EN1 members not there IS in Japan?

Don't get me wrong I don't think anyone in good faith actually cares about the other girls not having their 3d models puppeted to someone else's dancing and recordings of their songs. But the line of thinking you're presented as covers excuse here is........ really REALLY bad.

Probably at least in part because Kiara wanted to actually perform. These random guest appearances from Umisea definitely aren't Gura and Ina actually dancing and performing.

There's no way Ina and Gura are in Japan and there's no way they've synced a choreographed song like this in Ame's cave.

I'd be interested to know why exactly HoloEN seem to be struggling super hard getting to Japan to do 3D stuff. Some unknown dancer has made better use of Gura, Ina and Ame's model than Gura, Ina and Ame have and that's just really weird to me.

My cope is that Ina and Gura did their own recording in a local mocap studio and that's why they're not streaming much recently.

It could be them actually dancing and performing. Usually these concerts are recorded weeks before they air so it wouldnt be too hard for Ina and Gura to dance and get edited in. If some rando could do it with Kizuna AI more than 10 years ago, it shouldn't be too hard to replicate.

As thirteenorplans mentioned, they are not streaming too much so that could mean they focused on that in the last few weeks.

Gunpla groups are pretty vocal about women builders because Gunpla is pretty niche and there have been a huge surge of "thotts" building and showing off their tits for views. GunplaMeli is one. One of the most respected EN Gunpla content creators (ZakuAurelius) talked about it because the community started bitching about it. TLDR he doesnt really care about it "do your own shit and stop caring about what others do"

I think it is more of a case that they were stupid enough to post on a website that logs their IP publicly. They probably chose that person because it actually led back to a person they could sue because they didn't use a VPN.

My theory as to Pippa's issue has to do with her current contract and revenue splits with fishman. I think that's why when it was brought up by Nousagi, she was very noncommittal and evasive about it, not that she isn't interested in making more money via ads but that her split is poor and she can't talk about.
