What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

I remember when That Creepy Reading was a slightly decent creepypasta youtuber that I used to play in the background while I did my college work and gaming, at least he was until 2017 when he became a total clout chaser and couldn't even be bothered to double check his videos before uploading. Thank fucking christ I unsubbed from him in 2018 or 19 but I should've done so much sooner than that.
what I couldn't get over of TCR was his aspergic a-logging towards DSP

It's not that I dislike this Youtuber but I feel EmpLemon became too pretentious to me after this video

In this video he pretty much describes most terrible fandoms, yet acts like Nintendo fans are the only fans that would have blind worship towards a product despite Disney and Sony fans doing the same. He makes some good points, but his pretentious attitude where he acts like an arbiter of objectivity is a genuinely annoying and pretty condescending trait he has.

the nintendo fans are the worse ones i'd argue

Including the part where he shows a bunch of replies from his little twitter slapfight was pretty cringe tbh, especially after he made that twitter video saying how shite the site is.

Mumkey Jones used to be my favorite youtuber by a large margin, but he had an insane meltdown in 2019 when he cheated on his successful, house-owning, good-looking, loyal GF (she even tried to get back with him after it was revealed he cheated but he said no) with an ugly insane furry artist (her art was atrocious, it looked like a 4-year-old drew it). He basically had a complete mental collapse over the course of months and went on a shitload of antidepressants and other drugs, turning him into a zombie.

Mid meltdown he released a video where he was totally out of it on some sort of downers denouncing his old content and talking like an institutionalized nut. he used to be school shooter level edgy but in the video he becomes a xanax zombie and regurgitates the platitudes his shrink told him, denounces his old ways, and defends his BPD whore furry GF. It was distressing and horrifying watching him degrade, this was the point where I gave up on him despite being a patron for a few years.

Since then he's recovered a little bit and his new stuff is OK but it's a shadow of his old content, plus he rarely uploads. He got a real job and gave up on youtube.

A fun fact for those that weren't involved: Ethan Ralph got over 1000 viewers for the first time in over a year (I think) because he covered mumkey's meltdown, it was a massive boost to the killstream. Diddler Dax (dick masterson) also covered the mumkey drama and humiliated him, despite mumkey idolizing dick and telling dick how much he loved the dick show in the past.

He was extremely pretentious a long time before that video came out, he used to be a big YTP guy but stopped making videos solely because people kept asking him when the next one was coming out and some other very minor issues.

There are some videos I do enjoy, like his NASCAR videos. His Dale Earnhardt video still gives me the feels. But yea, his voice comes off as pretentious. I remember when he used to do some pretty decent YTPs.

Lol I also remember him constantly putting "CAN YOU UNSUBSCRIBE? CAN YOU UNSUBSCRIBE???" with ear rape every single video and constantly sperging out over comments. I'm surprised he never went full on lolcow.

Adam Neely is a music theory, education, vlog kinda youtuber. I still watch some of his videos, because he makes well-researched, kind of off the beat content that no one else seems to be making. Like for example the recent video about why Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation was bricking laptop hard drives.

But, he's also the stereotypical New York hipster faggot, who apparently thinks western universities should focus more on teaching students the minutiae of Japanese music notation and Ghambian drum circle etiquette. Then came some other retarded NY faggot take, and after that he proudly proclaimed that "everything is political." I don't recall if that was before or after he insisted that some Tiktok girl singing dissonances in a "tiktok duet" video was, mostly, only criticised because she's a girl. It couldn't be because anyone thought it sounded like shit. I noped out for a while and it seems like he may have calmed down, or at least taken that stuff to Nebula or Bi-Curiousitystream.

12tone makes pop music analysis videos, illustrating everything (I mean everything) with cutesy drawings, but otherwise he's the same type. I don't even remember what specifically it was but I haven't watched any of his videos in a long time.

David Bruce is a classical composer who presumably saw the success of Neely and Rick Beato* (I like Beato) and figured he could get some of that money too. Most of his videos are about how you'd expect a classical composer to do youtube content for normies. Except a couple of months ago, he decided to force some gay animated bird into his videos just to shill his Patreon or whatever.

Worth noting I think is that Adam Neely in particular seems to be the 'Kevin Bacon' for a lot of these channels to collaborate with and increase their audiences.

*Rick Beato became big after showcasing his son's incredible perfect pitch, and is pretty much a boomer who really knows his shit and has tons of industry connections.

nah this video was based, Nintendrones are fucking annoying

Out of Vinesauce, I only ever watched Vinny and Joel. Got turned off from Vinny after he came out supporting troons, which shouldn't really have been a surprise given most of his mods were troons and furries. Joel barely uploads and his content's gotten generally lower-effort and less funny, and in one of his (relatively) recent videos he mentioned he and Vinny were unironically gonna go to some nudist sex play in NYC at some point. Vinny also mentioned it, and neither seemed to phrase it like a joke. At this point I don't plan on watching either of them anymore. I think Vinny in particular's more of a sex weirdo than he lets on. The rape allegations and shit were fake obviously, but still he's not really denied that he trades nudes with his female fans.

Speaking of another Youtuber I liked who turned out to be a weird sexcreep, I liked ProJared way back in the day, but've never watched a video of his after the whole mutual cucking between him and his wife went public. Don't plan to either.

Stopped watching both Jerma and Criken fairly recently. Jerma's gone downhill hard, and his baseball stream was some of the unfunniest, most embarrassing shit I've seen in a while. Just don't really care to keep watching him, especially since he's sponsored by and/or sponsors a literal prostitution group now. Criken's less funny and has been ever since he started doing regular facecams, and I can't get over how he basically looks like KingCobraJFS. He's also slid to the woke-left. Last straw for me anyway was his recent Oblivion video, where an NPC says something vaguely sexist and he's like "oh holy crap, oh my gosh, I'm sorry guys. This game's pretty dated."

I find EmpLemon alright, definitely spergy, no doubt, but not a lolcow in my view. However, I do understand why people are hating his Nintendo video since as someone mentioned before it involved a really dumb Twitter slapfight.

I don't think anyone can disagree that Nintendrones are among the worst fandoms to exist due to the dumb brand loyalty to Nintendo, however the video is more about Nintendo's takedowns of fan projects (Project M, a Smash Bros tournament, etc.) rather than the low quality products (which as I recall, it's briefly mentioned at the end). I understand the intention but the video aged pretty badly. For example, the video did mention about Valve and as I recall, the video mentioned about how Valve is where it is today due to mods, as some of the games are mods, like Team Fortress or Half Life, and then asked the viewers to imagine if Valve acted like Nintendo and took down mods of their games. This is a popular example of how Valve treats its fans well, yes, but ask anyone who is deep into the TF2 community and they can tell you the exact opposite due to DMCA takedowns of fan projects such as Team Fortress 2 Classic, or Open Fortress and no communication at all between them and Valve, and several problems within the game itself.

Or how Steam took down a site where you can download Steam Workshop mods without the need to own the game to begin with, which can be a blow to those who owned the game in another storefront.

Is that from this video?
I don't think it's necessarily bad, but I understand if people are offput by the title or topic of the vid. Whole thing boils down to how current music theory (as far as universities and other places are teaching it) comes from old world musical teachings and doesn't account for how other cultures go about making their music or how music and genres in general evolve to be different than what was taught centuries ago.
Might be retarded, might be interesting, you decide.

Equating liking good music made by Europeans to being a race supremacist is definitely a retarded take. Does he suggest we should teach kids about mumble rap instead?

I'll be honest, it's been a while and I can't remember any other specific video - so yes, let's go with that video.
My gripe is that he, and others like him, are not just saying that non-western traditions have a lot to offer for anyone willing to learn, (which as an aside, if you're white, you can't make use of anyway because it's cultural appropriation don't you know) but the reason you're not taught those traditions in western universities is because of le white supremacy.

On the contrary, I think the reason the whole world prefers western musical education is that it gives students a universally applicable fundament for understanding differing musical traditions. Harmony, rhythm, melody, subdivisions and form. It's all there and it enables communications across any language and any style. It's not always perfect, but it's the best we have. Presumably, Japan and Ghambia have institutions - formal or informal - that teach their cultures' traditions (they should). However if you stroll up to a busker and tell him to hit the Farasuto ooga booga, he will first ask if you are joking, and secondly what the fuck you're talking about. It doesn't work the other way.

I've known many music students, not from any particularly prestigious school, but they all passed both a practical and a theoretical entry exam, with loads of applicants being rejected for nearly every instrument. Many of them could barely keep up with the fundamentals of harmony being presented in classes. For them to seriously study microtonality and percussive ensemble at the same time is just absurd.

That makes a lot of sense.

He recently did a video on some MGTOW guy, I got about 15min in and had to dip out because the video was pretty boring. Anyway, there is a cutaway at some point where seemingly out of nowhere he shits on JK Rowling and my first though was "oh this Aubrey guy must really like feminine penis". Then I thought, nah its just an innocuous joke, I probably spend too much time on KF and see troons everywhere. Its good to know my first reaction was 100% correct :story:
Ah about that.....he did a collab with Keffals the prince of dumb so take that for what you will...

I try to give EmpLemon the benefit of the doubt since I think he's unironically on the spectrum. I've enjoyed his stuff since the YTP days, and I even liked him a lot on old SOTY Podcast episodes. I don't think he's particularly pretentious per-se, but he leans in that direction. A good example of this was from a while back when he made a video addressing his "downward spiral" and how he severed ties with the YTP community over some drama: it just seemed like sour grapes and butthurt.

I will give him this, though: he's successfully able to make me interested in topics I wouldn't otherwise give a rat's ass about like NASCAR or the fucking Fruit of the Loom logo, so kudos to him.
