I agree.
An italian writer once said that the roles of the left and the right have switched over the years: decades ago, the Left was on the side of workers and against big corporations, they promoted strikes, etc., while the Right was mainly the defender of the interests of the upper class.
Now the Right, as you say, is more close to the working class, and the Left has become a bunch of intellectuals disconnected from reality, who support big companies who treat workers like shit (it's like they've become uncapable of seeing through corporate bullshit, and trust every single buzzword they throw in). Some leftists support workers only by word of mouth, but deep down they now despise them, and keep them at a safe distance.
The thing gets even more ridiculous when modern leftists consider themselves "revolutionary" while supporting big companies, trusting everything the government says, etc., and start frothing when someone points out the obvious.
