Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I get Popeye wanted them to get to bed fast and he phoned it all in, but I am curious about this type of story.
That joke first showed up in "Me Musical Nephews", though Popeye told it much faster.

UPDATE: Don't have anything else to say about it, I suppose they wanted something absurd at that particular moment for Popeye to say. The Popeye shorts between 1943-44 seem to have this wild period between losing The Fleischers down in Miami and getting use to a new studio of former staffers back in New York. The cartoons by director Dan Gordon are my faves.

Judging from the background monitor, it looks like he did a lot of work behind Inside Out, which in my opinion was one of the last best things that Disney made in the mid 2010’s. If that were the case, then this guy seemed like a real genuine talent.
He was also the director and writer for the Pixar short "For The Birds"

Any Britfags here remember watching Noah's Island on CBBC? It was made by the same people who created The Animals of Farthing Wood. It was about a polar bear that gets shipwrecked en route to London Zoo and the island he washes up on becomes a sanctuary for him and his friends. There's full episodes on Youtube:

The logo rings a bell. Not sure if I ever watched an episode though.

Randomly clicked on it on a bootleg site. Pretty good show and if you like Farthing Woods you'd like it. Even had a bunch of the same VAs. Ended up watching Farthing Woods after and that's horrifying even as an adult, but Noah's Island tuned it down from 11 to about 7 on the fucked up scale. Still some dark stuff though.

They didn't. At least not the Ed, Edd, Eddy ones.

I remeber getting those DVD's from the WB website, and they only hads the complete season 1 and 2 dvds for sale.
Most CN shows never got a complete DVD release (and some only got DVD releases in, like, Australia).

I still have the complete PPG DVD set from 2009. Wonderfully comprehensive, with so many of the great promos the show had back in the day, the music videos, interviews, the pilots and the World Premiere Toon-In... you wish every show could have a DVD release like that.

Hey wanted to keep this thread alive despite the kerfuffle kerfuffle soooooo....anyone remember the g4 (original incarnation) Show code monkeys? Was a great show, had a unique style based on an NES game. The animation was almost a one to one conversion of the sprites for River city ransom and it's both a good thing and a shame it ended when it did.

Fave episode was let's go to prison. Both for the appearance by the cast of red vs blue (back when rooster teeth was still a respectable place) and because I've always loved this line, which honestly describes how i feel about the current situation with the farms now.

John hondo: If I wasn't such a peaceful man I'd kick some ass!

I know it's RetardEgo ResetEra, but we might not be getting that adult Velma cartoon after all. They dropped the trademark for the show. With all the deck chair arranging going on at HBO Max and the fact no clips were released (only one screen still), it's likely axed until Mindy whasherface says something.
Good. As much as such a thing could, in a better universe, actually be pretty awesome, we all know it would have turned out to be utter shit.
