Well, this aged poorly.

Context is that Dev is having a verbal sparring match with his chat about whether or not it's okay for one side of politics to fight dirty if the other side fights dirty (in this case, accusing the other side of being nazis/pedophiles, which comes up in relation to the Dark Brandon speech – though the principles apply more broadly than that, such as to whether or not it's okay to advocate for censorship of the other side). He argues that, except in cases of self-defence, you cannot sacrifice your principles in order to win.

(I mean, the left are no strangers to using "self-defence" to justify anything related to their cause, but that didn't come up. So I'll give SFO the benefit of the doubt.)

Some rather pithy quotes in the speech that he gives – "if your opponent's actions have no legitimacy, then it's even more important that yours [sic] does" and "if you are the better side, you must be the better side." Someone in the chat brings up institutional capture, and Dev gives the response at 2:08:00, saying that the tide has already begun turning away from wokeism.

The main example he gives is Cloudflare, which, as of 03/Sep, was steadfastly refusing to pull the plug on Kiwi Farms, despite all the seething and whining from Keffals and his goons. He mentions Netflix as well, and how they too stuck to their guns about platforming Gervais and Chappelle. And at one point (I can't seem to find where he said it), he calls Keffals "unironically evil", which made me smile.

To be fair, he also said it might take as long as 10 years for wokeism to completely lose power. So it's possible that losing Cloudflare was just a temporary setback. But I someone who likes both Kiwi Farms and ShortFatOtaku, it's getting rather hard to share the latter's optimism.

I'd say Dev's political takes are generally pretty solid. Even when I disagree, I can at least see how he reached his conclusions. I just think he has two fundamental problems.

First, his immeasurable thirst for tranny cock makes him defend some pretty batshit stuff, like the Weekly Sip a couple weeks ago where he talked about the children's hospital, or just transitioning in general. Anything troon-related will have Dev up in arms defending it.

Second, he's got this weird hangup about letting his views change. He brings up from time to time that his political views haven't changed since college, but they haven't changed because he never seriously considers that he might be wrong. Any time he encounters views opposed to his, he just says "I'm right and you're wrong.", rather than thinking critically about it. That only reinforces the first problem, because it means he never thinks about the fact that tranny ideology requires you to believe that men can be women.
