Overpriced eBay listings and the likes. - $299 for a yellowed, no-brand, "vintage" keyboard. It's a deal!

You can still find those P4 Dells for free at your local recycling center. For that price I can buy a brand new PC!

Not to be that asshole, but this isn't as crazy as it seems. There's a lot of expensive industrial equipment that still runs on things like XP and Vista that can't be upgraded easily and it's more cost efficient for companies to overpay for a known working PC than to try to find a working one at the dump. You can buy new PCs too that run on those builds, but sometimes shit like USB2 won't be compatible with the industrial unit which can fuck the unit if even the drivers are present on the system.

Checking the average listing price on one of the games I want to sell and someone thinks I'm gonna want to drop $600 on a minty fresh Bug's Life. I wouldn't even drop that much on a mint sealed game that was actually GOOD.

Oh hey you're the one who draws fun shit on here right?

In regards to your post yeah. Tbh I feel like old games in general would or should sell lots but now it's only the ones that are sealed.

Oh, and how could I forget how scalpers have infested one of my FAVORITE TCGs…

One thing I’m glad to hear is that people often report these “preorder” listings for violating eBay’s presale policy (product has to be shipped within 30 days of purchase), the set shown in the second pic isn’t set to be released until NOVEMBER.

EDIT: Added another pic just to show how bad it is.
Downie “influencers” did this shit. When Logan Paul show how “epic” opening Pokémon cards were; people flew to pick some up and then this happened. Lucky, now the demand has died down and not many are scalping them.

Sometimes fun shit, mostly autistic, lol.

I'm still trying to figure out the game and handheld console market because I want to get into console restoration, right now I'm seeing the Gameboy Advance priced higher and have more competition in auctions. The Gameboy Pocket so far has been the cheapest one to get busted, even when dealing with shipping costs from Japan (which is good, because it's a beginner friendly console to fix) Games themselves I haven't learned trends for yet.

The people who caused the baseball card bubble decades ago are doing it to the used game market.

it would be a flamin hot cheeto, they are responsible for over 50% of all cheeto crime

I would say this is all just some stupid beta male joke and these are clearly not serious....but then again, this """Harambe""" cheeto did sell for $100,000 (there is also 100% chance it was sold to a redditor)

Again ebay bids can be "bought out" by fake giant bids. It's likely it didn't go for anywhere near that if it sold at all.

A lot of ebay listings are tremendously overpriced because the sellers have no choice a lot of the time (maybe in the super extreme circumstances they had a choice but not brand new things priced slightly higher than rrp for example) because ebay as a company is extremely fucking jewish and charges outrageous amount of fees, while also providing the shittest possible service for sellers. I am having to forgo 13% of my sale amount just to line the pockets of ebays kike overlords, while getting absolutely nothing in return in the form of a viable service to sell on.
However OP, if that wired kensington trackball is still available, please DM me the link to that, it is actually a very reasonable price for that model and i will probably buy that.

Someone in Australia is trying to sell a tintype photo allegedly depicting Billy The Kid for $10 million. If this is a previously-undocumented photo of one of the most famous outlaws of all time, then it's worth a considerable lot, but $10 million?

Also, some scammers are already flogging AI-"restored" prints of this picture as the real thing without prior verification.

Shop I worked at listed a 2000 series PsP with older firmware at $50 and 2 retards bid it over $500 and PAID for it.

Also you can see what items sold for if you click the "Completed Listings" option in the search filters. Green numbers mean it sold.

Model kit scalping is really wild right now but that's one of the lesser price hikes. A more fitting side by side would be the MSRP of the animation styled "revive" variant of the zaku II which I STILL can't find physically aside from the char version. Online prices for that thing are like 40 or 50 dollars but the char variant you can pickup physically easy in hobby lobby and target, I guess due to lack of people willing to or having the materials to paint a red one green, are 12-13 dollars. Cheapest listing I found was a hobby store's website "marking it down" to 17 dollars wth 10 dollar shipping. Model kit scalping is something I thought would die down as the lockdown shit died down but no it's just getting worse and in some cases companies are just raising their default prices to match scalper listings it seems.

EDIT: shit the post was months ago but the point still stands.

The ebay forums are a ripe source for drama showcasing the wholehearted dissatisfaction with ebay's leadership, the years of decreasing trust with the administration there could be threadworthy. There of course are still retards with stockholm syndrome holding on with irreverent faith to the ebay overlords but they are being outnumbered by long term sellers and new ones alike poking holes in the joke that is the site as a whole. But leadership alone will not be the cause of the downfall, just like with Etsy the site is full of chink bots just relisting chinesium crap from alibaba at marked up prices, but still far lower than competing western stuff.

I dont have much of a choice considering my only option for selling things is shipping, I live so far away from anyone that there is 0 local market

The thing with these chinks, at least on Australian ebay, is that they are selling for literally 1-2 cents profit on their items, there is no competition for anyone else to come in and try and compete with them
Green numbers mean it sold.
Green numbers do mean sold but they don't necessarily mean the buyers paid afterwards in the case of an auction, they could cancel and the listing would still be green in that list

You are only a lunatic if nobody buys. If somebody does buy then you are a fucking genius and they become the lunatic.
