John K. was complaining about it when "CalArts style" didn't mean what it did today.
The tumblr style really does look like Disney plus senseless ugliness.

The gay guy couldn't look much more stereotypically fruity if they tried. And how can you fix the ship when you have derpy-looking cross eyes? When someone tries a little too hard
If you want to have a racially diverse cast of characters who happen to be some sort of legendary beings, why not make them creatures from their home country's mythology instead of run of the mill werewolves, angels and vampires? This seems like a huge waste of potential to me.
And of course the only white and straight characters have to be gay and tranny.

Not to get off-topic, but what's being called Calarts style now is that pudgy, sausage-fingered, super-curvy three-toothed smile style used by Steven Universe, Star Vs Evil, Gravity Falls, Clarence, PPG reboot, etc etc etc.The tumblr style really does look like Disney plus senseless ugliness.

Found this on DA rather than tumblr, but it fits so well the latter.
Funny how they resemble more birds than their original selves.

Exactly... could John K. have been complaining about something that didn't exist when he was complaining about it?
I was just about to sperg about this. The "CalArts style" was basically CalArts students copying post-Golden Age Disney (think Sword in the Stone) and Don Bluth (who copied post-Golden Age Disney), resulting in a sort of Markov chain of inbred influences, each link failing to recognize the nuances in the links before. Think the style of Atlantis, Road to El Dorado, Iron Giant, etc.John K. was complaining about it when "CalArts style" didn't mean what it did today.
This isn't offensive. Miles doesn't want him being black to be the only thing that makes him unique as hero. North Star was gay, but that wasn't his only personality trait. Aside from a few parts in his story, it wasn't that serious. If that's all you see, then he serves no purpose. That can be said for a lot of heroes like Quick Silver or Jubilee. No one want to be seen for something as small as just their race or sexuality. It's not that hard to read into. Tumblr doesn't understand character development.Marvel seemingly has a rare moment of clarity, and Tumblr seems to be throwing a bitch fit over it.

I'm sure I could find more it I felt like wading through the cancer.
More salt from Tumblr would be nice. What goes over their head is that Miles himself, based off what comes from the comic, wants to be seen as an equal of Peter Parker. He doesn't want to be known as "black spider man" or "latino spider man" but rather just spider man, his ethnicity having no relation to Spider Man other than just who exactly is Spider Man.Marvel seemingly has a rare moment of clarity, and Tumblr seems to be throwing a bitch fit over it.

Ironically, the shit that the satire of the tumblr blogger is saying, I've seen verbatim from actual blogs.Marvel seemingly has a rare moment of clarity, and Tumblr seems to be throwing a bitch fit over it.

I agree, this is kind of cute and since weird stuff happens in GF all the time, it doesn't seem all that out there.DipperTaur(?) is cute and also baffling and a little frightening. This is just one of those phenomenons that I don't remember how they happened, but it's GF so I'll assume there was some weird canon thing that enabled it.
I've noticed the thing for getting oked armor with them is if you block out the face and hair and can't tell what the gender is at first glance, it's fine. Though they will make an exception every now and then.Would there even be a demand for that anthology had they not thrown in the emphasis on being progressive?
So BABD finally gets rabid about a woman with midriff.
He looks like he stepped in doggie poo. What the fuck is wrong with Vexen?
That thing has feet? How does it walk with those microscopic feet?
First off I think blogger no.1 has no idea just how satire works. Secondly, last I checked, referring to oneself as half-anything wasn't an offensive term. I sure as hell didn't see it like that.Marvel seemingly has a rare moment of clarity, and Tumblr seems to be throwing a bitch fit over it.

Not going to lie, I thought those things were men when I first glanced at these.
