If you want to have a racially diverse cast of characters who happen to be some sort of legendary beings, why not make them creatures from their home country's mythology instead of run of the mill werewolves, angels and vampires? This seems like a huge waste of potential to me.
And of course the only white and straight characters have to be gay and tranny.

The gay guy couldn't look much more stereotypically fruity if they tried. And how can you fix the ship when you have derpy-looking cross eyes?

I like how 3/4 of this characters are unrepeant psychopats for no discernable reason.

One thing my college teachers used to say is that making characters is just not about creating a power fantasy but something it feels real even if it is a fantasy setting, that are constructed in a way that is clear they have some sort of past that distinguesh them over others. In that list, feels that the cast could be reduced a two as everyone has the samey personality (insecure girly girl and asshole pansexual/gay/whateverhefellsliked androgynius dude).

Found this on DA rather than tumblr, but it fits so well the latter.

I like how Luxofrd is unchanged outside looking younger, it makes more obvious how shallow is the person doing the redesigns. Zexion looking like a crackhead than whatever minority was supposed to be is inspiring.

I was just about to sperg about this. The "CalArts style" was basically CalArts students copying post-Golden Age Disney (think Sword in the Stone) and Don Bluth (who copied post-Golden Age Disney), resulting in a sort of Markov chain of inbred influences, each link failing to recognize the nuances in the links before. Think the style of Atlantis, Road to El Dorado, Iron Giant, etc.

This isn't offensive. Miles doesn't want him being black to be the only thing that makes him unique as hero. North Star was gay, but that wasn't his only personality trait. Aside from a few parts in his story, it wasn't that serious. If that's all you see, then he serves no purpose. That can be said for a lot of heroes like Quick Silver or Jubilee. No one want to be seen for something as small as just their race or sexuality. It's not that hard to read into. Tumblr doesn't understand character development.

More salt from Tumblr would be nice. What goes over their head is that Miles himself, based off what comes from the comic, wants to be seen as an equal of Peter Parker. He doesn't want to be known as "black spider man" or "latino spider man" but rather just spider man, his ethnicity having no relation to Spider Man other than just who exactly is Spider Man.

First off I think blogger no.1 has no idea just how satire works. Secondly, last I checked, referring to oneself as half-anything wasn't an offensive term. I sure as hell didn't see it like that.
