(Or more specifically that Hannibal, seeking to invade Rome to stop his premonition of the future embodied by Keffals, is aligned with Destiny against the right side of history.)

Hannibal never lost Carthage though (that was like forty years after he was dead in another war), he was simply driven from Roman territory because he couldn't be resupplied. It took fifteen years to drive Hannibal off the Italian peninsula with a war of attrition on his forces but Keffals wouldn't know that.

It's also funny (but not surprising) that Keffals is putting himself in the role of arguably the greatest historical empire in the West. Rome was pretty problematic on modern progressive values I'd say.
