Pathfinder: Kingmaker - From Tabletop to Desktop

So if you look around when leveling her in other classes the game will straight up tell you at any time.

Personally, yeah her backstory is edgeville but her personality and how she reacts to thing just makes her feel like a mean girl. I keep her around for being mechanically useful.
I knew right away she was psycho from her battle quotes that are still there in the tutorial. Why did Owlcat even bother hiding it.

I'm also kinda glad that Wojack sucks. His personality is a little too...ahyuk, I don't understand any of this stuff going on chief, I'm just here for protection. Now that can be an act, but it's a little too consistent even in conversations where that act wouldn't be necessary. It's only slightly immersion breaking for my autistic spaz self when I see his base INT is eighteen, which means his IQ is as high as Nenio's. Fuck off with that "I'm just a dumb street rat who a-don't a-understand" act, dude. You may not have the edumucation, but don't pretend like you can't piece things together.

Is he that dumb though? He obviously doesn't care about the whole demon incursion thing and he's uneducated but he's actually pretty good at applying his street smarts to diplomacy when someone shoves him in the diplomatic council for some reason. His world view is that your whole crusade is just a protection racket and you should make the queen/nobility pay up which is kind of amusing.

Also he's not terrible mechanically but they did completely fuck him with his 2 preset levels. His stats/flavor scream "Arcane Trickster cantrip sneak build" but he can't really do it well because they forced him into Eldritch Scoundrel instead of a good rogue spec and gave him dagger feats. Ideally he'd be like Vivisector/Some flavor of Wizard/Arcane Trickster. You can make him OK as a melee rogue with 4 Eldritch/16 Vivisector though. Personally I wish respecs were from level 1 at the base class and you came in to make decisions when you selected the subclass, too many characters are just forced into being suboptimal in a game that demands min-maxing out the ass.

So I think I may love Camellia: rich bitchiness and barely-hidden-guro-fetishism aside, she can buff and fuck...enemies to death.

Yeah, that got me too. Motherfucker should be running the underworld instead of playing bitch for some gullible one. I can understand why he'd want to tag along, but he really should be doing more than just giving me diplomatic advice. Start up an underground market. Become a cult leader. Do something other than watching the market stalls all day.

Currently running a mystic theurge (yes, I know, the first two acts were nothing but pain) Lich, which surprised me by not being complete shit. Of course, the class is saved by the mythic path and the extra castings of those Fuck Your Saves, Take Damage spells, though the buffs are best as are most spells in general. I started up a Rowdy on the side and was amazed at how I could one-shot most enemies. Never played the tabletop, so I'm wondering how much Owlcat fucked up or adopted correctly knowing how broken some things can be. Thinking of rolling a monk and going lich for those melee powers.

I'm still surprised by the fact Lich is more fighter/mage oriented than pure. Kind of took the wind out of my sails, much like the insane spell resistance and saves on enemies.

Got this game a while back and wow the writing is fanfiction tier levels of amateur. I swear to god every "tragic backstory" is a wall of text. The formatting in this game is flat awful and many times is distracting. None of the characters are likable or interesting so far (and I've only gotten to chapter 1) with the exception of Wenduag who is supposed to be an evil piece of shit, but for some reason I more openly support someone who is open and nonapologetic about using gruesome methods to make their tribes survival against unwinnable odds more feasible than... whatever the fuck this game considers "good". (Selling your grandfather's sword to troon out are you fucking kidding me?) And its not just that, why is every tragic backstory the same shit I've read written by 13 year olds on deviantart?

The original material was made by Paizo aka Pozzo and the first volume of the Adventure Path was written by none other than Amber Scott. She's notorious for writing Baldur's Gate Siege of Dragonspear (yes the game with the infamous tranny NPC that sunk Beamdog) and loves running roughshod over established lore to push her politics. Just be glad none of the tabletop devs were actually involved in the game development because they're all insufferable. Wrath was a questionable choice to adapt since the tabletop version is... lackluster at most.

The evil characters are the best, that's for damn sure. Few whining, no excuses, and no limpdick faltering. Their intentions are far from noble, but you can rely on them more than you can the so called 'good' crusaders you find yourself surrounded by. You'll fall in love with Regill, in spite of his odd build limiting his true potential (you can respec but it doesn't feel right to me)

started playing Wrath of the Righteous but the problem is, im retarded. cant wait to get walled after spending 60 hours on a shity build.

Speaking of WotR, the Enhanced Edition finally came out and it was so limpdicked and disappointing that even Reddit started calling out Owlcat over it.

Guess I'll wait until the Deluxe Definitive Final Director's Cut Edition before I do a replay.

good luck, they're working on a warhammer game now, which will drag in even more secondaries. fully expect it to finally make female space marines canon or some shit.

What is so disappointing about it? I have nothing to compare it to because I waited until the enhanced edition so I could buy the game and all the DLC for a nice discount.

There's a PR dude who posts on Reddit that teased at a bunch of shit that ultimately didn't make it into the EE. They're doing damage control now saying that the stuff might maybe make it into later patches. Instead of fleshing out the final act like they kept talking about all that we really got was a photomode, controller support, a handful of bug fixes, and an extremely small sprinkling of new content.

They're also doing second round of DLC soon. They've teased a new companion for the upcoming DLC (which they did for Kingmaker) but, well... after all the teasing they did for EE, I dunno.

they didn't integrate the canon (the writer for her supports it) cam romance ending mod
extremely shameful display

When I acquired the game fairly and legally a few months back the game was so fucking broken I couldn't talk to one companion at all and had to restart entire chapters because some quests just didn't trigger. Also hope you want to go angel or Lich path since the others are broken or have virtually no content, except maybe for the demon path that just comes in late and goes "hey wanna stop with that other shit and be demon instead?". I have no idea what was promised or happened with the game before I got it or after I stopped playing but when I did play it, it was broken and underdeveloped in several key areas such as the Mythic paths mentioned before or just anything to do with companions outside their ten to thirty minutes of quest each. Also you better go look up build guides or not bother with what the game gives you as companions and just get hirelings from a tavern with good builds.

I played it around release as Azata and it was fine for me. I also really enjoyed the game in general.

Suppose I got lucky with the bugs. As for the Mythic Paths, all but the late game ones (Devil, Legend, and (especially) Golden Dragon) have a decent amount of content spread throughout the game, though Angel is definitely the most content-rich of them.

Why is monk suck so bad in this game? (:_(
Monks are bad in every tabletop rpg. If you want the AC bonus and modifier, play an instinctual warrior. I've seen some crazy builds with it and even played one for shits and giggles. Vellexia wasn't the only thing getting raped.
Fists are just an insanely shit weapon, unfortunately.

Thanks for the heads up fellas. Idk, I'm enjoying what I've played so far. I've encountered a couple of minor buggy things that went away just by changing maps, but I guess I'm mostly numb to that kind of shit by now. I am going Angel for my first playthrough, but I'll spoil myself on the other paths a bit to see if they would be worth the trouble.

Also, it sounds like the Reddit PR guy is doing what all of the PR guys do, i.e., over-hype the shit out of the audience to drive sales and then force the developers to eat shit for it when they have to walk back the hype. After Cyberpunk 2077, I feel like anyone who reads the shit that PR people say and doesn't realize that 75% or more of it is bullshit deserves disappointment. They will never learn their lesson, and so the PR people will never stop.

Unironically switch it to Game Journalist mode if/when this happens. This simulates the experience of having a DM that isn't incredibly adversarial and actually wants you to finish the campaign because he likes you and enjoys DMing. Or else do boring min max builds and spam selective grease for 200 hours. Your choice.

Sensei monk is pretty great as a support that can do a little bit of damage but the other monks are for dips only. Sohei and Scaled Fist are pretty good dips though.
