Interesting. Are you aware that other people have come to their own threads before?

Seems likely, just by sheer probability.

Are you familiar with the farms or lolcows in general?

Not familiar with this place, but it doesn't look any different from ED, or some of the threads on Lulz.net. And yes, I am familiar with the idea of lolcows. As in, they can be milked for reactions.

Why did you break the toilet at CiCi's?

I didn't. It was already flushing when I walked in there.

So, you are therefore aware that you are currently giving us a reaction, and are being 'milked', if you will, as we are speaking right now?

Reactions: He Sets Me On Fire
Hey @AlexReynard, I have a problem with this comment of yours about MRAs. You said this in one of recent Reddit comments.

I had the revelation earlier today that, if that is the direction that feminism overall begins to take, then it doesn't matter whether feminism or the MRM 'wins'. Either way, the culture will shift towards regarding men and women's rights as equally valuable, and the true winners will be the people both movements are advocating on behalf of. I'm sure we're all so close to the fight that we sometimes forget, we are not competing for the sake of competition. There are real victims each side is fighting for, and so long as the end result is that more of them get care and consideration, I don't care which side of the debate brings it about.

I recommend giving r/mr a break. That place has gone feral.

I don't disagree, but there's a reason I'll come back eventually even if I do take a fresh-air break. I think that every emerging movement needs agitators and persuaders. The agitators shout until the conversation can no longer be avoided by the mainstream, and the persuaders make the arguments convincing. I think the civil rights struggle needed both MLK and Malcolm X. New atheism needed both Dawkins and Hitchens. A voice to ease the fears of the status quo, and a voice to rally the base to action. As rabid as r/mensrights may be, I see them doing stuff more than anywhere else. Every day, there's a new action opportunity on the frontpage. News about emerging campus men's groups, a petition to sign, letters of protest to write, or just men coming forward to share their stories and be heard. For all of that momentum, I am willing to stomach the anger of the place. I can empathize with and forgive that anger. I want to see it channeled into positive action.

I fully understand that some people simply cannot stomach all that negativity. While I do hope this sub can be like a 'cooling off' place for me, I know I'll be back at r/mensrights eventually. Because at heart, I am more of a Hitchens than a Dawkins. ;)

How can you support a movement that is seen by many as a complete joke and where you have scammers like Paul Elam running shady organizations like A Voice for Men? How the fuck is that advancing anything for the genders? From everything I've seen, it's really hard for me to take much of the movement seriously. I do understand the position coming from fathers trying to reform the family court system and how much of a troublesome experience that can be. Unfortunately the movement is plagued with those who try to blame everything on some conspiracy about feminism and we have a Mens rights activism thread in another subforum that goes into all of this and much more.

Say what you want about feminism but at least for the most part, that movement still has much more credibility than anything I've seen from the usual MRAs out there, even with some dumbass Tumblrinas trying to piss on it these days. I'd even go as far as to say that the worst feminists that I have seen with their views are nowhere near as extreme as the most extreme people that have identified themselves as MRAs or some similar group.

You seem a lot more level-headed than the person I was thinking about when I posted in this thread a couple pages back. Either I'm thinking of someone completely different (and worse), or you've seriously chilled out. If it's the latter, good on you man. :)

Were you ever in attendance at Anthrocon in the late nineties or early 00's?

Is this a record on someone appearing in their own thread?
not even a day. jesus

edit// oh im rude and forgot. hey there alex. welcome

Also, why did you delete your OP here? What did you say?

I didn't delete it, the mods did. Pissed me off as there was actually some decent discussion there. I made an argument that, if we take the idea of 'rape culture' at face value, the the evidence points to it affecting men more than women. For instance, it is at least recognized as criminal when a man rapes a woman, but not the reverse, so there are unknown thousands more ignored male victims than female. My end goal was really to destroy an idea rooted in double standards, because all victims ought to be treated the same by the courts.

This was something I found ineresting when going through your stuff. I would love to hear more on your thoughts concerning female-on-male rape.

Because I don't care about public perception, and because I'm looking at the long game. When you look at our history, any movement of social change is ridiculed by the mainstream at first. And actually, that's a good sign. Because the alternative is to not be acknowledged at all. People are making fun of MRAs and quote-mining them and slandering them and accusing them of all sorts of crap, but at the same time, I also see feminists being forced to acknowledge some of the points MRAs bring up. I have seen more feminists say they care about male rape victims in the last two years than in the previous two decades.

I've always known that one group having a monopoly on an idea is going to lead to stagnation and bloat. Competition is as good for ideas as it is for business. But something I realized very recently is, it does not matter who brings about positive change, so long as that change happens. If MRAs agitate for men's issues to be paid attention to, and feminists say, "We already care about that! Now shut up!", it doesn't matter that they've never done anything on that issue before. What matters is that the issue is finally being discussed. Awareness is being raised by both sides. And if the end result is more victims getting the treatment they deserve, I don't give a shit which gender movement accomplishes it. Or maybe change can only be accomplished when a small, angry movement annoys a big, complacent movement into action. Neither side is as important as the victims of injustice who they are advocating for.

Maybe both. I was a lot more easily-angered a few years ago. Moving from Furaffinity to Inkbunny helped, as there's a lot less drama there. Also, just a general realization that my life is stressful enough without me seeking more of it.

Were you ever in attendance at Anthrocon in the late nineties or early 00's?

Early 00s, yes. I forget the year, but I went twice. Now I usually go to cons my friends are closer to.

@AlexReynard you are a lot more level headed than I thought and may even be one of the few cows to get your thread closed by posting on it. May I ask why your fingernails are that long, I would imagine that they would be painful at that length

Because I have intense mental health issues that make it hard to concentrate. I admit, I don't take very good care of myself. Partly because it's easy to forget to when I'm trying to make my defective brain get through the day, and partly because depression makes you not care. On the plus side, long fingernails are great for picking up pennies.

I've talked to you face-to-face hundreds of times.

I don't believe you. Unless you mean that you're someone I've argued with in comments, then sure, that's possible. But I don't believe anyone in my circle of friends would be this disloyal. And if you mean that we actually know each other in real life, then it'll be easy enough to narrow down who and report you to the police. I can be calm about this, but I do think that, however disgusting anyone here thinks I am, I feel the same about someone like you much more so.

And I hate to even dignify the possibility, but if you're Widget again under another name, get a life.

Police? What laws have been broken here?

Your bullshit won't work here son. It will fail.
