Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

God, they've learned nothing about why this show almost got cancelled.
They couldn't be more blatant if the characters have a full orgy to show how "in love" they are.

Here's what everyone working on this dogshit doesn't understand, kids, don't give a shit about how gay your characters are or their sexuality.
Children are more interested in characters being in danger through hardship (and by trouble, I mean characters having to go through actual problems that may cost them their lives or lose the people around them. Not petty issues like people saying mean things about you). They want to see the characters go on crazy adventures.
The Parents, the people responsible for deciding what their children will watch and have the money to pay for the kids, aren't going to show them this show due to the fact it raises awkward questions about sexuality that aren't simple to explain at that age, regardless of what the pedophiles on Twitter say.

The Owl House other hands, wants to brag about how many lgbt+hasdkjsfjmcx characters are, and they're so in your face that it's obnoxious.
Despite how many cartoon reviewers are constantly bragging about how "great" this is for being so diverse.

The ratings for this show have always been terrible.
Barely anyone watches this show, and the only reason Disney didn't cancel the damn wasn't that they were a dedicated fanbase large enough to support the show.
They didn't want to lose their relationship with their rabid LGBT members. It was only for political reasons that this show is still alive.
It had nothing to do with the quality of the show. It's only still around because of Disney's politics, and it will lead to their bankruptcy if they keep pulling this nonsense.
It says a lot that the scariest prospect these characters face, the big mountain they have to overcome, is saying a random fact about themselves out loud to someone else. This is the greatest conflict and greatest self-fulfillment journey that this current crop of writers can conceive. And if I were a kid, I would just have to ask, "Why? Why is she being congratulated for this? What did she do? What did she accomplish?" Fucking nothing except intense navel-gazing. God.

It’s so weird how everyone I can remember from back when this show was announced had far more interest in it than Amphibia, because at the time it was announced with “horror” as a genre.

And now it’s The Bi Witch Drama, “For Kids”, while Amphibia was just really consistently a better show.

Exactly. Kids want action, adventure, suspense and comedy.

They don’t care about romance or teen angst.

Exactly, no responsible parent would let their kid watch this shit. It’s not good for kids.

That would be a insult to MadTv who did this good parody of Peanuts. I still have a guilty pleasure to what this.
top 10 shorts that would get you cancelled today
also my favorite part is this is a youtube kids video
It's the Great Dolomite Charlie Brown is a legit masterpiece, and it's part of my Halloween rotation every year along with the original.

Can you people who want to punch the Velma people get on it? Because now I want to.

"We're shit writers. People have done this repeatedly in many ways but we're creatively bankrupt so we can't work out how to work in the dog. Fuck Trump! Yeah we're giving our (dwindling) audience what they want."
Have it be a hallucination. Have it be a random dog that keeps showing up. Have it be the villain! Earn the job title you have.

I feel so sorry for the potential of that show. It was a decent start, there was a nice edge to it and early episodes had some interesting messages that their fanbase really should have taken to heart.
Now it has the most generic identity ever.

Amphibia all the way. That and Duck Tales are what recent Disney produced that I will keep directing family members and friends to for their children. Not because I have any problems with the rainbow "folx" but because those shows were good.

So youtuber TheOdd1sOut made a Netflix show for kids and released the first episode for free on his channel:

Thought it was ok, some of the voice acting can be a little meh, but overall I'm sure kids might get a kick out of this and not have to deal with any garbage woke shit instead.

In the third or fourth episode they apparently introduce a time-traveling super-smart black girl from a time when processed foods are a thing of the past, so… I’m not entirely sure.

As long as she doesn't bring up some issue regarding her race or it turns out she's "totally gae u guize," then I don't really mind her inclusion.

So we go back to being agrarian farmers again, or do we farm that out to a third world nation we look the other way on. Seriously the future these types want is a pre-1900's America but with internet.

That “Velma” show has a Twitter.

That’s written “in-character”.

I don't see the point in getting mad over the Velma series. Sure, they're talking about how great it is and how everyone who doesn't like it just isn't enlightened enough now, but we all know it will last one season and be quietly cancelled.

It helps to vent annoyances before ignoring its existence and letting it die a pathetic death.

It’s true, this show won’t last more than one season.
