so...is ukraine winning?

Sorry if i sound like a newfag, but i barely follow the war, because wars are mostly fought by liars on all sides.

And whats with the doomposting about nukes in the last few days?
As usual, it depends on who you ask.

Overall trend in this conflict is that the longer it lasts, the more territory Ukraine recaptures. Russia's advanced tanks and even Krasuka-4 were captured, and probably given to Americans so they can study the most advanced Russian gear. Russians mobilized but the process if far from smooth. Even propagandists on Russian state TV are admitting that it is a giant mess. Close to a million Russians fled the country after mobilization was announced. Russia's supposed future partners like China and Russia are content to buy heavily discounted Russian resources that used to be sold to Europeans but do very little otherwise to help with the effort. Supposed stockpiles of equipment from the Soviet era are yet to materialize. At the same time, Russian factories have mandatory overtime and Kremlin is buying equipment from North Korea. Ukraine damaged a bridge to Crimea, and Russia responded with rocket strikes on major cities. These recent strikes will probably galvanize NATO to provide even more more aid. Germans are especially upset now that their Embassy in Kiev (Kiyv?) was hit.

Pro Russian side was celebrating recent annexation of four South-Eastern regions and now the rocket strikes. Annexation happened in spite of Russia not having a full control of these regions. Mobilization, while messy, could change things in Russia's favor. Ukraine had a rough time mobilizing at first, and needed a while to get things in order. Russia might be able to do that too. Even if mobilization remain a mess, dumping a bunch of additional defenders will probably slow down Ukrainian counteroffensive. Recent strikes show that Russia, contrary to some Western media outlets' claims, is still far from being toothless and out of options. There are also rumors of Russian soldiers being transported into Belarus and possibly getting ready to attack from the North.
General Zima is going to make an appearance soon, but that's a double edged sword.

@cybertoaster
For russians is less about the whole "western degeneracy" and more about not going back to the 90's.
By the way things are shaping up, Russia might be heading for another 90s, and EU for another 70s with energy crisis and recession.

I get what you are saying but really a bigger win would have been to start taking back the recently lost regions the Russians lost not just lob some missiles into a city nowhere near the front line. All that will do is piss off the west to support even harder and drive civilians into the Ukrainian Military.

I don't think Russia cares about "wins" in the view of the West at this point. Nor is this a 4d chess game about trolling the West. This was a wet dream of empire that turned into a nightmare.

if you support anybody in this war you are mentally retarded and you should get your tard wrangler to blow your fucking brains out. especially if you think russia is a good guy because you are a brand new level of cocksucking faggot
Are we allowed to support a stop to the war and preservation of territorial integrity

They miscalculated willingness of the West to support Ukraine. East Europe has been triggered and angrily pointed fingers at Germany in particular because we always knew Russia is weird and sus, yet the West generally ignored we as smaller, retarded brothers that cannot into politics. So Russia likely assumed that only the East would cry about it, and the East has zero military power and no influence in NATO and EU, so yeah.
There's also the narrative of the decadent West which is based on a core of truth, but the rot is not yet terminal and Russia just got drunk on its own amplification of the situation.
Regardless, this is very real and very dangerous, Russia is caught in a no exit situation, more precisely the regime is caught in a trap. Putin cannot make peace. Cannot negotiate. Only path is to win in some way, which must necessarily include Crimea and the East Ukraine, at minimum.
The potential paths of exit IMO:
- Ukraine gives up/regime change (unlikely now), peace treaty with regions given to Russia for peace. Would require Ukraine to stop fighting, very unlikely, they're rather angry and set to go to the end, in average
- Russia regime change, coup, revolution, peace, retreat, return of territories, Ukraine will have to guarantee Russian minority safety, will likely need UN peace keeping mission in the conflict areas
- escalation to world war through some incident involving NATO state, nuclear or not.
- protracted war for decade+ with both sides getting tired and depleted, periodic flareups on the borders, partisan warfare etc. Would allow Putin to save face somewhat. Economic downfall would be severe

Yeah but why would you do that, you hippy beatnik cuck? If you want to be a man you have to beat your chest like an autistic ape and participate in jingoist shitflinging that will have 0 effect on the war or anybody's opinion on it.

Zelensky suspended the press and dissenting political parties.

Ukraines wartime restrictions on both the media for operational security, and political groups with ties to Russia, are still more lenient than Russia’s peacetime restrictions on the media and anti-Putin political parties.

I'm fine with those insults tbh. I'm not letting go of my sanity for nothing. Seen first hand what armed conflict looks like.

Socrates was in favor of neither moral relativism or nihilism bud.

Can we have this? Why can't both loose was a perfect solution to the Iran-Iraq war.
It is a possibility.
My personal feeling is that the markets and umm, "international order" types won't tolerate having Russia outside of the system for too long, it's far too large and far too important to the planet to be a pariah state and isolated from the West. At one point the people with actual power, not Biden and the sort, will simply demand a return to normal, after they exhausted their profiteering from the instability and had their fill. At that point, miraculously, the "people of Russia" might suddenly rediscover their love for democracy and chimpout on Putin, although this comes with its own danger of civil war.
Big mess we're in.

This is what gets me. They aren't sending those 5 million dollar Kalibers into targets of any real importance. They are just being used as Terror weapons. A women's cosmetics warehouse? Really? I don't really understand russias logic here.
During Belgrade '99 the US bombed a car factory because it had the same name as their main weapons manufacturer and the Chinese Embassy because it was on the same street as the Headquarters of the Serbian Military Procurement department.

Obviously they were taping together a bunch of Note 7s in that building to make IEDs, and the kids were forging artillery shells out of the monkey bars.
Let's be real here, the majority of people think that gayops looks like this video instead of sweatshop IEDs and a bunch of kids trying to scavenge over a minefield.

Has an attack on an embassy ever actually been treated like a direct attack on the country? I can't imagine anyone actually giving that much of a fuck when Russia probably didn't even mean to target it.
Nope, and pretty much for the obvious reasons you indicate. Technically an embassy is sovereign territory, but treat it like a city or recognized border in an accepted war zone and you start inviting some serious problems in terms of diplomacy and alliance obligations when SHTF. Germany will bleat about this, Russia will firmly indicate it was collateral damage, and things will carry on as before.

Although given this is clown world and everyone has lost their collective minds I could see the Poles for example trying to use such an event as an excuse to invoke Article 5, because insanity isn't exclusively limited to the Russians these days.
