One thing I extra miss in the farms, was this thread, this is the only place when I vent about the disgusting state and mods of TS4, and boy...after those monstrous game packs, I really need to vent...

Not really. The game itself will still be shit compared to the previous games (at least in terms of good content). I think the create-a-sim is pretty good, sim multitasking, and the moods are sorta neat. Other then that, I have zero reasons to play it over Sims 2 or 3.

Also if you aren't pirating it already, then you're doing something very wrong.

Its build mode is the best compared to the previous games, imo. And I still think modders are greedy jews but some mods are great and enhance the gameplay.

Oh I heard that to, but I wouldn't know since I never actually played it. I refuse to touch anything made by EA anymore with a 10 foot pole. And if I want to (like with the upcoming Dead Space remaster), I'll just pirate. Fuck EA, they deserve none of my money. My book of grudges for them alone is thick and the Sims series is a part of that.

I'd consider Sims 4 worth pirating and modding to hell and back, but I've yet to find woke mod hiders, like ones that force all Sims to be called "she" or "he," but Extreme Violence works pretty well for beating the shit out of the in-game troons and enbies. I do know of a mod (Petty Pride, on Tumblr on an old Lesbian discourse blog that's abandoned) that only allows LGB (and T, no clue if there's an LGB only or flag hider mod) flags, made to try and stamp out woke shit, but not full Halal. It's also outdated so the Two Spirit bullshit is still there.

my personal opinion: It´s morally correct and very worth pirating TS4 but...what´s the point? the game is broken and boring as hell, for what I know, the vast majority of sims 4 players now only focus in building, cosplaying their sims and sometimes legacy challenge because there´s literally nothing more to do in the game, I don´t want to play the free, or even a pirated version because the game is so damn BORING every time I try to play with the full pirated version without mods, maybe only mods transform the game in something merely decent

It's justified when it comes to Sims 4, gameplay just leads to nothing. Browse shit to download, hop on, make a few new sims with it, look at them for a while, quit, repeat.

Maybe I forgot my way with sims, how do you even play this series anyway? I just wanna sit back and watch sims do their thing, but they simply don't do anything interesting in 4. Do you need to do this much handholding in 2 or 3?

2 has a dark, fucked up sense of humor, advanced AI, a fuckton of cheats & hilarious scenarios, and generally do shit on their own and have full AI unless you turn off everyone else's. They also have significantly more complex personalities, even if the system is more primitive.
3 is much the same, but with an open world, traits, moodlets, and with very minor things (like fears) stripped here and there to try to make it run better despite the shitty optimization.

This is why I haven't bothered to pirate, let alone buy the game. I do want to try the build mode but beyond that it just doesn't look that fun. I think the design team forgot that the core fun of sims game play is struggling with the sims and consequences of their and your actions even if these are sometimes random and/or unwanted.

I know that TS4 was originally going to be an online only game and that set to the wrong direction in the first place but I think they also got caught memes around the classic cheats. Cheats to skip the tedium to get exact results you want for lols is part of the fun of sims but they aren't the main attraction. That's going with the flow of the game while setting personal goals of small and large.

I have autism and play out scenarios with them until I get bored. I do this with Sima 3 quite often. Problem is, I try to micro every Sim in town who has a household to a degree. As you can imagine, this gets tedious. I just don't care to focus on one Sim. Like Babe Hart. Despite being a mutt with literal loony parents I try to make her wildly successful in Sunset Valley, only for her kids to be just as looney as her parents. Or a random Sim I made who is a local hero, but despite that is a degenerate manwhore. Shit like that.

You forgot the biggest pillar holding this game up...WickedWhims.

But yes, hype for this game is dead, TS4 in 2022 can't hold a candle to the content cycle that TS2 and TS3 had.

TS1-TS2 even had physical leaflets for the next EP in the CD cases, and for all the flack that it got, the Store in TS3 provided a consistent source of new content to speculate over, as compared to the inconsistency that are Kits in TS4.

I honestly think that TS4's dev team is a skeleton crew at this point as more and more manpower is likely shifted to TS5 and the new horrors it will bring.

I think that TS3 shines best as a world simulator where you let sims loose a bit- if you install NRAAS's Tagger mod, it's almost magical seeing all the sims in Map mode leave in the morning for work, come home after work and then head to the bar, or go to the park on weekends; it's a living, breathing world. Very few games on the market come close to this level of simulation + customization, which is why the game is still being played despite its flaws- now, if only EA actually did an optimized, 64-bit version of the game.

The only optimization mods I can find only work for the Steam version of Sims 3, despite claiming functionality of the Origin version, if you even have one digital pack, it breaks it.
I just wanna play Tokyosou, damn it.

Sadly will never happen. This is the closest thing, and I've been using. Its really solid. The first initial loading is still long but after that things are quicker. UI, Buy/Build, and Custom Textures are much more responsive.

Do you know how to get it to work with legal digital copies? It keeps throwing errors when I try to use it with my digital/physical combo Origin shit and the dev doesn't answer that crap.

I would try launching without the launcher by executing TS3W. Otherwise it won't work if it's the Origin version. You can thank EA for that. However, according to author you do need the Origin custom launcher she made to work around this.
