I refuse to be that person who dumps [responsibly rehomes at least some of some of] the animals I care for [have hoarded and repeatedly admitted I cannot afford to care for].

Wow, Pissa. You absolute saint, you. I'm just so touched and impressed by the way you go without in order to keep your animals happy, fed and cared for. Oh, wait....

inevitable edit for typos cos I'm still a non-proofreading exceptional

I swear to god, she's like those animal hoarders where they find the mummufied cat under the sofa or something. Too many to take care of, too many to count.

If it's like the one in my area, they won't deny you. We do biweekly packages (delivery or you can shop at the pantry) and allow a once a month package of staples and pet food if you demonstrate need, like if your income is extremely low.

My kid and his wife have a cat that's got some kind of nervous condition from wherever he was before he was rescued. He used to chew on his tail and yowl at night. They tried the pheromone things but they didn't work at all. The only thing that helped was getting him some kitty Prozac and a little buddy to distract him.
I... I really want you to be saying that this cat got an emotional support pet. Oh my God, could you imagine? Like a little rat?!

lol No, the vet actually suggested a younger cat might help him (he's around 7). They adopted a 2 year old girl cat and they adore each other. They snuggle and groom each other which seems to have really calmed the older cat down. Unfortunately, they don't know what may have happened to him before they adopted him but he's doing really well now.

OT but I keep suggesting to my other half that we get the dog a dog so that he calms down around other dogs when we are out and about. Hasn't worked so far but I live in hope.

To bring it back on topic, I could at least afford and manage to care for a second dog. Pissa could lose 90% of her hoarded menagerie and still not be able to afford both cat food and the ren faire.

Also on-topic, if a bit of a throwback — massive thanks to whoever it was that recommend dscout a few months back... I signed up for a few similar services relevant to my country off the back of your comment and should be getting my first payment through in the next day or two.... Pissa really has no fucking excuse if even I can make that shit work.

Ended up getting a kitten friend for my weirdo cat after his previous friend passed, because he wasn't doing well by himself. It seems to have helped him remarkably.

The pheromone diffuser thing might   have helped during the introduction period, or maybe it was just a placebo, idk.

I see in her latest desperation tweets that she she's barely mentioned the snake, if at all 🤷‍♂️. I still can't help wondering what it's eating if it's not going after the other creatures in the residence, or if it's too lethargic to hunt down food. #FreedomForStarvingSnakes 🐍

The Campbells Cats Twitter was updated about two days ago. Did she post pictures of any of the cats? Nope. She just quote retweeted one of her pet food begs.

The pet twitter is just another avenue for her begging. She seldom posts pictures or videos of the cats when she bothers to update. Go to your regular cat lady twitter and most of the posts will be the cats being cute. As @Angry New Ager once said, you get a feel of the cats as individuals if you follow them after awhile. That or recognize them pretty easily. Jungle's cats include a ginger named Lion O (like the Thundercats character) and a mom/daughter flamepoint duo named Crystal and Pearl. They regularly do things like chase after laserpointers, groom each other, or claim Amazon boxes as their own. Jungle's cat twitter is genuinely comfy.

Meanwhile I only remember most of Polissa's cats names because half of them were named after the Addams Family. I can only distinguish Shadow because she has (or is supposed to wear) the diaper, I know Gomez has the chronic UTIs but cannot remember what he looks like off the top of my head, I only recognize Pepe because he's the only outdoor cat... None of this is high difficulty process of elimination. While she'd definitely run an even bigger risk of pissing off the cat ladies again by posting her sick af cats more, there's always some dumbass that just sees cute kitty and would probably at least retweet her. I also skimmed her Tik Tok recently and the sole video that got any real engagement was the one with Pepe just chilling. I don't think Polly actually cares about the cats at the end of the day versus "how can I get more gimmes with them." It's always just money with Polissa. If she actually does care, she sure doesn't show it. Rehoming most of them would be an improvement.

By the way, since it was brought up again- from what Polissa has said most of them are now fixed. Of course, this is Pissa, woman that hoards sick animals, actively tries to grab strays to add to the hoard, and claims that the same cat gave birth twice on her because kitty abortion is wrong or some something stupid.

Polissa has claimed that she never mentions Salazar because people don't like snakes, which means that she never gets anything from begging for her snake food or care. That is paraphrasing her exact perspective. She doesn't talk about the snake because reptiles don't bring the money in like cats and dogs would. Like I said, it's always just money with Polissa. It's like her refusing to adopt her cousin's kids because she wasn't getting extra welfare with them only to complain that CPS breaks up families. Sometimes I wonder if Salazar is even still alive considering she seems to always forget about her.

to be fair, snakes eat like once every few weeks, and feeder rats/mice are really cheap. reptiles are expensive to set up (cage, heat lamps, the cost of actually buying the animal, etc), and vet bills are astronomical if things go wrong, but if things go right they aren't terribly expensive to keep. i just hope she's feeding the snake frozen rodents instead of live ones and keeps the setup stable and away from the cats. if that snake gets sick, you better believe she'll be begging for money to put it down, because she just will not be able to pay the vet bills. #SaveSalazar

Don't talk to my emotional support cat or my emotional support cat's emotional support rat ever again.

They all need those little vests for this to work.

Polissa is doing the Quiverfull thing, but with cats. Quantity over quality and nobody gets enough food or attention. At least she can't parentify a 10-year-old cat into raising the younger ones and running the house.

Entirely off topic, but this can pretty much be a thing and it's adorable.

Image isn't mine. My rats have long since gone over the rainbow bridge. Damn their short little lifespans.

Of course, Polissa can't make social media friendly clips and pics of her cats, because they're obviously living in squalor. Any window into how Polissa lives and keeps her animals will create a flurry of people begging her to rehome them. For what it's worth I don't think Polissa is keeping the animals as a grift. If that was the case she could reasonably keep 1 or 2 and get more donations than she's getting now. I'm sure she hoards animals because she likes feeling needed and getting no strings attached affection. As hard as it is to give up pets, someone that actually loved them would have given them to good homes a long time ago.

Kinda like how cheetahs in captivity are sometimes given a dog friend. (Yes, really, it's adorable). Or like racehorses; the phrase "get your goat" originates from the practice of giving a nervous Thoroughbred an emotional support goat.

My big weirdo cat, with his one little brain cell, decided that my guinea pigs (since gone over the rainbow bridge) were his "kittens". They were always very closely supervised, but he'd wash them, hang out with them, tried to scruff them like kittens.

Yeah cheetahs can get really bad anxiety, so as a kit they get an emotional support dog and I love it. Have you seen the video of the guy trying to sleep in the tent of cheetahs and they just keep waking him up for love and end up sleeping on him?

Unless I'm being retarded (which is extremely likely) the AirWick looking things are actually those cat pheromone diffusers that are meant to stop cats getting stressed and aggressive (so they don't fight each other and piss up the walls, etc).

They don't smell of anything afaik, it's just for the cats. They do work under certain circumstances (such as moving home, when cats are likely to get unsettled) but I don't know if Pissa thinks that far ahead so I'll assume she thinks it'll stop the cats fighting. You know what stops cats fighting? Not having eleven of the little bastards in a cramped smelly house would be a good start.

I don't think they do anything and I've tried them, but I can smell them for sure. I expect they annoy cats more than help, as it's sort of like old essential oils and old garbage burning. I can't imagine the fights her hoard have, those diffusers aren't going to calm shit even if they did work with that many cats in that little space.

And... the fuck is the litter? That stuff is awful, turns straight to a mud that clings to cats. What the fuck is that little $10 box going to do? That's like one refill of one pan. If she only has one litter box.... Holy shit. I mean, it's supposed to be (number of cats) + 1, but I know she doesn't have 12. But... Imagining only one box...

I may have a smaller collection, but the ratio of food:litter is WAY off here.

She could get a megabag of 9lives or Meow Mix for $10 that would last a month. Purina One is reasonably priced and decent stuff, but she talks about them starving while getting lower middle ranged foods. And how the hell do perfect portions work in this situation? Hoarders ALWAYS dump a food trough and wander off, they DO NOT portion each cat and couldn't if they tried. Hoarding leads to desperate animals that get brutal at mealtime.

I don't think Polissa has all the animals to e-beg. I'm like 90% sure she uses them as some weird Munchausen by proxy type deal where she's the great hero, she's the only one capable of caring for them, she's the pied piper of all the hurt and diseased animals. I know munchausen by proxy isn't the right term but I'm not enough in the know to come up with something better.

Now I say this because she does the same thing with herself. Moaning and crying about her disabilities and tribulations is something she does ad nauseum even when there isn't a prize at the end of the tunnel. She will go to literally random spaces on Twitter and sperg about how she's retarded and can't take care of herself, woe is her. Yeah she'll use these pity parties as a launching pad for gibs but I think ultimately all she ever wants is attention. Sadly for her, the whole world has become full of Polissa's in the last 15 years and now everyone and their cat is a fat polygendered transam BIPOC lesbian facing systemic abuse. Polly thinks she's special and out of the norm and deserving of attention but couldn't be anymore wrong. She's the same lame duck in a pond full of them. So why not try to use animals for attention since she really is just like all the other people?
